Came to this T.J. Maxx while I was in the area and wouldn't recommend. Very rude employees, especially the manager, Nicole. The selection of items at this store were okay but because of the way I was treated by the staff, I will never be returning again.

You only have 30 days to return seasonal items. I need more than 30 days when I travel often for work. Not a great policy.

It's a pretty small TJ Maxx, but you can always hunt a deal in here. But it does not have high end brands like the one in Brentwood does.

Looking for sales on Christmas decorations in late December after the holiday had passed, I found an excellent deal! There was this Santa's Bake Shop inflatable normally priced around $100, but it was about 75% off with "only 2 remaining" as the website touted. Stock was low so I had to act immediately! At roughly $25, this was a nice little bargain. And I could pick it up at the South Nashville location. So I bought it! Two days pass and the item should be ready in South Nashville. Instead, the South Nashville store cancels my order and claims that the item is sold out. What's the purpose of having a button you can press on a website to buy something that is low in stock only to have your order revoked? Is that how online shopping works with Walmart? But it gets worse! A day later, the item reappeared on the Walmart website ... fully in stock ... for $199.99! Say what?! Yup, Walmart is just that greedy. Why make $25 off a customer when you can make $200? And that BUY button on their website? It means absolutely nothing.

When I went find a belt that fit, I saw another pair of pants and a shirt that I wanted to try on. I went to the fitting room for a third or fourth time and they ask me to show them the items and put them on the rack. They give a third degree about having to have them on hangers and after they out the two pairs of pants back on hangers (that I was planning on buying) they're like go back to the room. I try them on and they don't fit. When I go out, I put the two pieces of clothes on the rack that I wasn't gonna buy and they're like you need to put all 4 pieces of clothes on the rack. I showed the clothes and was like I'm buying these. She preceded to tell me that all the clothes needed to be on the hanger and put them back on after she counts them and checks the pockets. When I got to the front, there was a line that wasn't moving so I just threw the clothes on a shelf and walked out. I had $50-100 worth of clothes that I was gonna be buying. I'm sure Walmart would gladly take my money and not treat me like I'm some criminal who's gonna shoplift.

I've marveled at the high-class display of exclusive brands, expensive purses and clothing, squeaky clean interior, and charming little restaurant on the bottom floor. This is surely a celebrity destination in Nashville. But I never actually shopped there ... until yesterday. In search of a birthday present for my wife, I perused the clothing on the uppermost of three floors looking for something that would match her style. Under the impression that everything in the store was uber-expensive, I was surprised at the vast range of prices! You could find a $40 skirt on sale, or a designer $1000 jacket, everything from bargains to the pinnacle of fashion! Searching for the right item but (as a typical male) rather clueless about fashion, the most charming young lady named Lindsey emerged and became my personal guide, my guardian angel of fashion. With class, sophistication, and professionalism, this Nordstrom employee offered suggestions, gave expert advice, found additional options for clothes in the back, and truly went overboard to make sure I was happy, comfortable, and enlightened. Because of her, I was able to bring home a truly remarkable outfit for my wife's birthday (which she'll be opening in a few days). Thank you, Nordstrom. And thank you, Lindsey!

Target also excels in cleanliness. I've never seen a Target that wasn't clean and well organized. The clothing return section can get a bit crowded, but it's not unsightly because you know it's a work in progress. Target has a great selection of merchandise from not only the national brands, but from their own lines as well. I was glad when they started their grocery section because it offered more of a one-stop-shop opportunity. What had prior to 2021 been the abandoned Nashville Convention Center is now a modern mixed use development that has brought life into Broadway west of the "Honkey Tonk Highway" stretch. It features a shopping mall, Assembly Food Hall, a retail scape fronting Broadway, The Place at Fifth, the National Museum of African American Music, and the towering landmark 501 Commerce Street Building. It has brought an Apple Store, Sephora, Shake Shack, Hattie B's, Prince's Chicken, and more to Broadway. On my vacation, I had caught it's act several times. The one sight that always stood out was the consistent long line to Hattie B's. My visits here included Assembly Food Hall, Prince's Fried Chicken, the Twelve Thirty Club, visit the Apple Store, and walk around. My impression was that the stores and restaurants are reasonably priced. Although the restaurants and stores provide decent value, to me the greatest value here was the photo opportunities. The focal point of the development, the L-shaped mall which bridges Broadway with Rep. John Lewis Way gives the gift of a prime photo spot for the 1) Ryman Auditorium where the original Grand Ol Opry performed and 2) Bridgestone Arena. The restaurants, especially in the Assembly Hall provide an opportunity to photograph food. I recommend the Assembly Food Hall Bridge to photograp the historic Ryman Auditorium. Additionally , I learned that if I stood on Broadway by the Bridgestone Arena, that Fifth Plus Broadway made a dynamic photo showing modern and historic Broadway, with the modern Fifth Plus Broadway architecture including towers contrasting with the historic Honkey Tonk Highway streetscape. As far as safety, I felt safe. The one annoyance that I saw were street hustlers at the Rep. John Lewis Way entrance aggressively bothering passer-by. During all of my visits here it was busy. There is a safety in numbers. On the subject of safety, the hot and humid summers need to be taken into account. On a few occasions we had escaped the excruciating heat in the air conditioned Assembly Food Hall for a couple of hours. I rate Fifth Plus Broadway "Four Stars." It is doing a remarkable job extending the lively Broadway restaurant and entertainment scene beyond the western edge of the Honkey Tonk Highway.
