I came into the store trying to get a dress for my school's national honor society induction, and when I went to try on two things, I was greeted with snarkiness, the sale associate assumed I knew I had to put two items on a hanger, and didn't say anything and it was very difficult to hear with her mask on, and when I put the two things on the hanger she told me to read the sign on the hangers in a rude manner. I had apologized and told her that I work at a Marshalls because I didn't understand what she was telling me to do and they don't have us do that and when I told her this she started yelling at me as I walked into the fitting "speak to a manager then." 3 times and then laughed. I felt really uncomfortable and when walking out, I put the thing I didn't want on the hanger which I knew how to do and gave her the key and she yelled thanks behind me. I then talked to the cashier and asked to speak to a manager about the situation and I did, and the manager then told me she would speak to the store manager which I have no idea if that will even happen or not, but this was extremely rude and wanted to leave a review about the situation. read more

Just a stones throw away from the Kroger here. Why not take a gander. I do like to find some random household items here and there. I do really like that they provide you a cleaned cart when you walk in, such a nice touch. The store is generally well organized. Some random boxes in the back of the store floor. Items to be stocked on the shelf yet? I wasn't able to find anything much beyond the oval baking pan today. Don't generally like to try on clothes much either. This place is just the thrill of the hunt. They have everything you didn't know you needed. Lots of odds and ends, this and thats, hots and nots. Pack your patience though. It's like a rumbled mess in here. And the checkout/return line is always so long. If your looking for something in particular, or nothing particular at all- this is the place for it. Clothing, shoes, self care items, jewelry, furniture and housewares- it's all here. The seasonal items are always worth looking at, as are the speciality food items. Who knew I needed grape flavored sea salt or that jar of grilled mangos. New pots or pans for only $10- sure, I love to cook. Yoga mats for $10 are always a good buy. The employees can't help you find anything because again, it's just the thrill of the hunt. You'll find everything you never knew you needed. But beware, this place is like a time warp. Before you know it, you've wasted an hour to buy who knows what, for God only knows why. read more

This is a decent TJ Maxx. It is organized and they attempt to keep the store decently neat even through many huge rushes throughout the day. This location has a consistent level of merchandise and variety. I enjoy the furry friend section quite a bit. The issues with this location, they can't really help. The store is small and cramped. The parking is sometimes a nightmare. Those are just elements that are present, too many stores that are popular and not enough space. I tend to enjoy the larger TJ Maxx, Marshall's and home goods stores more just because you don't have to move your cart and shuffle around every few seconds. A hint: try to access this store in the opposite side from Walmart, it is easier to navigate and park. read more

Extremely disappointed with the customer service from this store. I bought a sweatshirt that I wore once and washed. The colors bleed and ran into the rest of the white shirt. The manager on duty ( i believe was Lisa I'm sure you can look at the schedule of employees for that day, Feb 1) was beyond rude, ready to explain how she couldn't help me before seeing what she could do to make it right. I suggested a few scenarios to see how she could help me to even get a store credit and the answer was still no. So, NO was her answer. Clearly this was a defect in the product that was sold. This TJ Maxx is very well organized. I was able to find a cute Dooney and Burke purse for a friend. But there was nothing else really eye-catching for me, which is odd because I LOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE finding things at TJ Maxx. They did have a lot of Alex and Ani bracelets, but a majority were the beaded style as opposed to the more popular charm ones. There seemed to be a lot of odds and ends, but not a lot of designer clothing or larger size house slippers. By the time I left, I accepted that I wouldn't find anything for myself. The cash wrap is loaded with small add-on items and you can get in trouble up there. But I would give this place a try again. Maybe it was just an off day. read more

Well organized and smaller store. Decent amount of traffic that still comes through here. I am generally able to come in find what I need and go in and out quickly. The fitting rooms are well kept and the service there is decent. The registers move customers through quickly. The parking lot can be busy here, but it's not too bad. Maybe the tiniest TJ Maxx I have been to in the area. Selection is much narrower than most other area stores as a result. I felt like I could browse the whole store just by scanning my eyes across the room from the front door. I poked around a little bit but didn't really find much I was that particularly jazzed about. The selection was ok, but again, there are better stores in the area. A very small amount of housewares but that may also be a product of a Homegoods store being so close (although there are TJ Maxx and Homegoods stores right next door to each other in Ann Arbor and that store still carries more house wares). As a result I didn't do a lot of shopping there. But I also wasn't looking for anything in particular. Mostly I was just stopping in to run a return since I was in the area. But the staff person that helped me was quick and courteous so I had my $$ back in a jiffy. If I lived in the area I'd pop in and poke around a bit every so often but I wouldn't go to out of my way to go back here again. read more

Super slow line. Three employees standing by door talking to each other, only two working the registers. Multiple people have left the line. It's a Thursday at noon. This should not be a 45 minute thing. The Homegoods between Michaels and Old Navy moves much faster with a longer line and people generally buying more. read more

This a typical TJ Maxx, a little messy, in a shopping center that was hit hard by the Great Recession ( if you want to call it that). Lots of empty stores. They are opening a Walmart soon so it might help traffic. This store is near a Sally's Beauty and the Bath and Body Works. A Dress Barn and Golfsmith is nearby as well. The best thing about this store and indeed, this mall, is that you can park practically right at the front door if you get there early enough. It's also a short throw from West Oaks, which has the good Homegoods, Michaels, Toys R Us, and a really nice Big Lots! read more

Ridiculous! I have never got in line and paid and been on my way in less than 30 minutes ever! 20+ people in line and 2 cashiers working! Marshall's and Home Goods are the same. Why can't they get it together?? I don't mind waiting 10-15 minutes but 30-45 is RIDICULOUS!!! read more

I've always been a fan of the TJ MAXX, Marshall's and the Home Goods brand. Today a shout out to a lovely young lady, Brittania the Manager working the front desk. She was sweet, professional and was on top of things watching the checkout to suggest to other cashiers to please stop rehanging, and tagging returns and please open a register. This has always been a pet peeve of mine shopping at TJ Maxx, I'm certain they have slower times and while I realize the importance of restocking, if it's that urgent designate one person to that task! A big, call to action, I've left merchandise and spent money elsewhere more than once when I witness numerous cashiers behind the counter tagging, laughing and not waiting on the warm bodies trying to spend their money in their establishment! This is after over 20 years of shopping at TJ Maxx that I have EVER witnessed a manager ask staff (who should open a register proactively on their own). Kudos to this young lady, Brittania, you are truly an asset to this store! read more

I used to like TJ Maxx a lot but I just reviewed Marshalls which is close by as well, and I've switched from TJ Maxx in this area to Marshalls. This TJ Maxx has always been a bit sloppy and the merchandise is scattered. Shoes and things seem like they are always out of stock here. It's good for jeans or shorts or summerwear, though selection sometimes does vary compared to other locations. I've been shopping here for years and the service has been good of late but it was terrible years ago with employees being very rude. Again that was in the past. On all recent visits employees have been friendly. I still do check in here once in awhile but Marshalls seems to be my new favorite in the area as it seems cleaner and with better inventory. read more

This was my first time in this store and probably my last.. As far as TJ Maxx goes, this one is kind of small in comparison to others.. I found it to be typical of others as far as being messy and not too organized. It's so obvious the merchandise is 'just what they ended up with' type of stuff. I simply don't have the patience to hunt and sort through all of the crap to save $5 on a shoe.. The cashiers were either incredibly tired and overworked or just not at all friendly. The best thing about this shopping venture was I found a $10 bill in the parking lot!! lol!! read more

I love TJ Maxx stores! This one is one of my favorites! Merchandise is kept in good order. I always find wonderful things in this location.
