The TJ Maxx in Placerville, CA, is one of my favorite places to shop. Where else can you find bargains (including brand names) in housewares, linens, makeup, clothes , shoes, luggage, commercial art, photo frames, stationary, clocks, cookware... all in one shop. Not every visit turns up insane bargains, but more often than not. The majority of staff are pretty helpful and the cashiers are a hoot. The merch is organized. If the shelves are in a disarray, chalk that up to the over zealous shoppers. The staff do their best to keep items neat n tidy as we all should. I see staff literally go down the aisles and tidy up and I've seen customers go tear it all up. read more

TJMaxx Roseville is - by far - and consistently - the cleanest and most organized TJX store I have ever been to... and we go to a lot of TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores because we love quality apparel and housewares at great prices. And today's cashiers were awesome too. Bonus: The restroom actually smelled like they were cleaned w/a quality disinfectant rather than just water. Other TJ, Homegoods & Marshalls should do this!! Spent over $400 at this location while on a kayak trip for the week in Coloma. Stayed in the parking lot for an hour on the last day while waiting for someone to finish shopping at safeway before continuing our roadtrip in our converted schoolbus at 8am (there were plenty of spaces).. they called the sheriff as if we were trying to live in their parking lot! I visit tj maxx about twice a month and love it! But for this specific location- don't waste your time or money. This is how you treat customers? Gross. read more

This location has become on of my favorites over the last few months. Inventory has been spot on!! But what makes this store fabulous is how clean and organized it is when it comes to finding treasures! Walking around the store each shop is even organized by color! Staff and management take pride in the appearance of their store. Current staff treat you as if they know you! I appreciate the small talk and laughs!! I love tj Maxx for the most part. However, Living in Placerville doesn't leave much in regards to finding children's clothing and shoes locally. I'm not sure what the deal is with tj Maxx and their children's clothing section and non existent kids shoes. Probably the worst selection of children's clothing and shoes in town. Ross, Target, Goodwill, Snowline, and even Walmart obliterate TJ maxx when it comes to that. They have a better selection of pet toys and beds than kids clothing. Target isn't much to brag about in terms of kids clothing and shoes but hey, at least they carry them. read more

My husband and I were Christmas shopping after our day trip to Apple Hill and this TJ Maxx was very nice! The store is adjacent to other retailers like Ross and Target, so its a great one stop shop. It's very clean and organized. Anyway, this is THE first time shopping at ANY/ALL USA TJ Maxxes finding and purchasing 1K thread-count, queen, bed linen; usually, I must either purchase the higher thread-count linen, i.e., 800 to 1600-thread-count, bed linen either at Ross or Big Lots so, I'm delighted discovering TJ Maxx has 1K thread-count, bed linen in stock. Typically, I purchase my kitchen towels, bath towels, down pillows, and mattress covers at TJ MAXX due to the higher quality inventory in stock; the towels are Egyptian cotton while the pillows and mattress covers are hotel quality. I won't settle buying lesser quality towels, pillows, and mattress covers; you can readily tell the difference between a lower and higher thread count as well as 100% Egyptian cotton: The items I have purchased twenty years ago still look brand new despite, frequent usage. read more

This store deserves negative stars. I was in the store for less than 10 minutes. I found gorgeous outfits with my parent that identified as non binary and the store very openly was very transphobic to not only me but my parent. They forced me to go into the women's side and when I tried to walk into the men's side an old lady who works there walked up and told me and my parent that we aren't allowed over there because I am a girl and men need those dressing rooms when I have never seen a male walk into that store to try on clothes.... They then told my parent that they look like a man so therefore they are a man, the manager had no words when we asked what there gender conforming rules are and looked at us like we were stupid. Fun jewelry, great jewelry prices. My clasp is sort of jankity though. lol. But I don't expect it to be Tiffany's. Anyways, I always love the folks working behind the counter. They are very fun people to try on jewelry and chat with! I am 35 & plus size. They never seem to have a wide enough selection of clothing for me. This would have easily been a 5 star review no lie! They had so much stock! Even their clearance was fully stocked with such cute finds. They had multiples of everything I was about to pass out. I've been to so many tjmaxxs up and down California, Washington,Oregon and Nevada. I have to say this one takes the cake. Their make up, bath & body section, and purses were stocked! I spent $253 and was excited by all my finds but the younger girl who was the cashier was sooooooo damn rude. Ma'am there was like 12 people at this store at 730pm and you had only 1 person behind me and she wanted to act like a complete ass. Me and my husband even took off all the hangers for her. I couldn't see her name tag but she's younger red head ( not red like flaming hot but red like Lindsey lohan) all she said was hi. Not how are you doing. I usually love this store,wonderful selection and good prices, and always stop when I am driving up to Tahoe. When I visited today, I was shocked at the number of shoppers who were not wearing masks. I stopped counting when I reached 5 people without masks. Of particular concern is the fact no staff members were approaching them and asking them to put on a mask or leave. When I told the young lady greeting customers at the front of the store, she shrugged and made no attempt to fix the situation. Having a sign at the front door is not enough to ensure public safety. I have been to several different TJs during the pandemic and have never encountered even one maskless shopper. This TJ needs to hold their customers accountable and if they can't- then they should close their doors until it is safe. read more

Shopped here for the first time and was super impressed. So impressed that I almost called the manager after my visit to tell them! The store was clean and organized. It was easy to move around and didn't seem dumpy like some of the discount stores can get. The staff was helpful and friendly. And I mean they were genuinely helpful and friendly, I was surprised. The cashier actually helped me out with my purchase in the rain across the entire parking lot. Another staff member held my item at the front and paid attention to me when I asked him for help as he was working on something else. I just got a really good feeling at this store. I love this store and the fact that they have so much merchandise. The store is clean and always has a wide variety of awesome finds!! I have been to a few other TJ Maxx stores, but this one is by far my favorite. The only thing I do not like about this place is that the brunette manager gets bitchy when they are closing and you are still in the store. Pretty great selection of designer/trendy brands, especially next to the fitting rooms (I guess that's where they group all the designer stuff together). On my first visit, I was pleased to walk out of there with a silk chiffon Alice + Olivia dress for only $44.00! Gotta love clearance sales. After skimming the racks, I saw they also had several Bagdley Mischka, Catherine Malandrino, Theory, etc. dresses. Lots of selection for Seven for All Mankind and True Religion jeans as well. I was shopping at TJ Maxx last night for some gifts for a last minute trip out of state. I had wandered the store for about an hour and had my arms full. However, I was the only one in the store that was not asked if I wanted a shopping cart or if I was finding everything okay. I got depressed, felt very out of place, put everything back and walked out. Maybe it's this time of year... they used to be so friendly towards me. Maybe I just wasn't dressed to their standards, although I didn't see any sign of a dress code. There are plenty of other places I can go for last-minute gifts. My go to store for new clothes shopping, always a fresh selection when I visit. I never have any issues finding the perfect outfit for whatever the occasion I'm shopping for. When TJ Maxx opened up a few years ago I was very excited. They had the store stocked with nice quality items that were in fashion. I always found a pair of shorts or a nice sun dress whenever I went in. It has been a year since I've been in. Today I found nothing. All of the clothes and shoes looked like they were more then three seasons behind the times. I know that discount stores such as TJ Maxx and Ross and Marshalls stock the stores based on what the neighborhood buys. I was disappointed. I hate having to go to Roseville to find a good selection of discount clothing that I like. I did find that the purses and lotions and potions were still nice.
