This TJ Maxx is located in the Calvert Village Shopping Center, next to the UPS store. The store seemed to have recently opened, with a larger store space, a decent selection in hand bags, and the items being mostly organized. The Clearance section is a bit small in the rear of the store, and there are other clearance shelves throughout the place. The pet section has a bit more variety, such as all-natural wet pet food, toiletries, and USA-made snacks. I also found the kitchen section a bit lacking, but their gift bags and greeting cards were of more of a variety. This store has a good supply of clothing, bedding and art. The beauty, shoes, men's, children and women's department were all stocked equally well. The beauty area was a real pleaser. No trash or loose pieces were in the aisles. They could use more checkers, I waited a really long time in-line: at least 20 minutes. I was going to purchase a large piece of luggage, beauty products and perfumes ($260.00). I noticed the luggage had two large streaks and scratch-dent like areas that look were visuable to the naked eye. When I went to the counter to pay the cashier looked at me and said we'll take off 10% when I asked if any others were in the back. I thought that was fair. There weren't others. She said, " is that ok" --I said " yes"...I really liked the super large size luggage. It was light gray with rollers and light-weight. In two minutes her manager ( 20s-30s curly black hair) came over and looked me up and down, and said (it's a display, its supposed to be like that!! She said It would be sold at the full price. No other luggage had imperfections like that. NONE! All the original tags were on it. She refused to make any concessions. I thought her reaction, decision and demeanor was very rigid and bordered being scary-offensive. Her texas-chain saw approach was rude, careless and over the top. TJ Maxx Prince Frederick needs to send this manager to training to ensure rules are consistently offered and that make since. It was beyond an aesthetic issue --it was damaged. I left and went to Waldorf and purchased what I needed. I don't shop where I am not valued. It was a horrible shopping experience, not because of the store -- it was because I felt that I had been treated differently than most customers would have been. It was the toxicity that will keep me far away from this location: forever. My money will be taken elsewhere and greeted with kindness. Hit or miss on the inventory but a clean store and a good ride to get here when you need a quick getaway.

I love shopping here. They always have great things for the house. I usually buy home decor stuff here. They also have a ton of discounted candles! I've always had a good experience here but this one particular time I came in I wanted to try some things on. The lady for the dressing room was not there. Her "sign she had was not where anyone could see it clear. She was rude when I came back without a number. Than didn't believe me on how many things I had like I was trying to steal something.
