The isle were clean and the store in general was as well. They do have a restroom should it be necessary to use for customers only. This store is like a huge gift box once you are inside! Women's , men's, boy's, girl's and even infant clothing all of which are name brand and some high end for reasonable prices. Shoes, makeup, household goods, kitchen goods, pet supplies and more. I noticed that as with all TJ Maxx stores you can find some fabulous handbags as well as prom gowns and cocktail dresses that shockingly are brands I'd never expect to see in here. Beyond that, a LOT of the donated clothing they choose to put out is very heavily worn with very obvious flaws such as massive tears, bleach stains, and fast fashion that is literally falling apart and needs to be in the trash. Yet they'll still put a $10 price tag on a pair of jeans with a huge hole in the crotch. The prices are much higher than other chain thrift stores around it, and the quality is awful. Beyond the actual merchandise, the store is depressing. I used the restroom and there was no toilet paper in ANY stall in both the women's AND men's bathrooms! Not a single one. And no paper towels! How is that possible? The floors are dirty, the people who work there are not friendly, and the donation process is "park outside with your flashers on and hope someone actually comes out to assist you". Despite not having the volume of the Big Box Stores, they are still competitive on price. In the past, they have been the one place I could count on to get Rock Salt for snow removal in a timely fashion. If they did not have it, they would put you on a call list give you a call when it came in. It's been a number of of years ago, but we had a power outage and I called about a kerosene heater. After all, I have been coming here oft and on for 10 years now. They had one and exactly one and put it on hold for me. When I showed up to pick it up later in the day, a young father came in desperate for a kerosene heater. Had a couple of small kids and his wife in the car and you could tell they were cold.] The only had one left but I let the young man go ahead and buy it for his family. Fort Dobbs Hardware made sure I had the next one that arrived. At one time, Statesville had two hardware stores like this but the second, Wagner's on Shelton Ave has been gone for a number of years not. If I need something a bit out of the ordinary, there is a good chance they will have it. Also good for advise on how to fix or repair things and to aid in proper tool selection.

DG has just about anything you need (like a mini-Walmart), personal care items, household cleaning products, pet food, groceries, as well as healthcare and home goods. The store even has beer, wine and tobacco products, so you can see why there's draw for neighborhood folks! Most items are reasonably priced, others not so much but there is a $1 section, too! As you can see, DG has a little something for everybody, except this location where customer service is fading fast! I like you a lot DG, you're close by but I'm shopping here for convenience!
