The manager at the Whittier California store located The Quad, name is Froylan, is unprofessional and a poor representation of the TJ Max brand. There was a damaged wreath that was a return item that was unmarked without a price. I asked about the price and in the presence of Froylan, the manager, decorative berries fell off. Froylan had the nerve to say if he gave a discount on the wreath, he would not give me the berries that fell out. So, Froylan proceeded to throw away the berries in the trash can. So, instead of providing respectful customer service, Froylan chose to insult the customer. Even worse, he is supposed to be the manager of this store setting good examples for the staff but is not. He should not be a manager or even a staff member of your brand. Terrible. read more

Juliette and Edgar were both very respectful and friendly, which honestly made the whole thing way better than the usual rushed checkout you get at busy stores. I found some cute shorts at this store, but there was no price tag on them. I went to the cash register to see if they knew the price. They went and found it in another size to get the price. Turns out it was supposed to be a set, but the shirt was missing from the shorts I found. They let me buy the shorts alone which was super nice as I loved them!! Shout out to Clarissa and Luz for helping me and making it an easy experience. They were very nice and did not look the least bit upset when helping which I really appreciated! I've been going to this tj max with my dog pretty much my whole shopping life and recently (the weekend before Christmas) the shoes I had purchased were left behind! Today while shopping at check out I brought my receipt and asked them if they still had them because they were left behind by accident and they were still there! Saved in a bag with the receipt stabled to it behind the counter. Amazing job by the staff considering it's December, the most hectic time of the year for these stores! Thanks you guys! read more

This TJ Maxx was a locale I frequented back in the mid 90's to early 00's. Back then, their store was teeming with diverse options for women (shoes and clothing). This time, many many years and two kids later, I dropped in hoping to find clothing for my kiddos since they've grown so much since summer. While the variety of clothing and shoes for women persists - and there's the added benefit of high(er) end beauty products - I wasn't met with the same in kids' clothes. I did come away with product: Bed Head shampoo / conditioner for a bargain ($20 and change), some really cute shoes ($20 on clearance), some home decor items (selected by my son), a basketball, and a new water bottle for my daughter. I will end with a special shout out to the woman on the floor that so graciously tended to us when my daughter knocked over and chipped furniture with our cart (so so so so sorry!!) and to Ernesto, cashier, who engaged my daughter and her crazy comments while we awaited a price check. I would come back so that I can take my time and shop for women's clothing specifically. read more

I shop at Marshall's and TJ Maxx multiple times a week. I rarely go to this location because they have horrible customer service and seems like the workers are miserable. I went in tonight with my mom and the workers followed our every move and made our shopping experience very uncomfortable. Then during check out the cashier barely said a word. I have never had such bad service from a cashier. She had a rude attitude and a scowl from the very first interaction! This was totally uncalled for. She should not be working in the service field with that rotten demeanor. I had to call on the manager to help me. Cashiers made a huge deal over a 2pc boys pjs set thinking that I added another pair of pants. It took FOUR associates to figure out the the pjs were in fact a two piece. They had some empty makeup boxes thrown about in the makeup section. It seems people may be stealing out of the boxes which is a shame. It was pretty busy when I visited around 2pm and there was police presence inside and in the general town center outside. read more

I was going to give it one star but the cashier was nice .. I'm a newer employee at a tjx owned store and I had just finally gotten my discount card but had forgotten it because i work in back and didn't want to lose them.. so I asked the cashier can I show her my id and I had a copy of my temp card on my phone if not it's not a big deal .. the manager comes up very rude no eye contact never even stopped what she was doing to say no sorry wish we could or whatever instead she just blurts out no we won't take copies in a very condescending rude way never even stopped what she was doing ... If she treats what are essentially coworkers this way I can imagine how rude she is to customers .. needless to say I'll spend my money in a different tj maxx if she would have said it politely and stopped and made eye contact and I would have totally understood she was just rude and b*tchy if you don't like your job quit ! read more

My mom bought a coat for me, I don't like it, she took to store to return, the store rejected because they said the coat was worn. It's so unreasonable. You sold an "used" coat to my mom, you can sell it but you don't accept to take it back. I just tried it, never touched again, I don't understand how your policy works, if you only sell brand new products, then stop to hang these out to sell to customers, my mom couldn't decide it's new or used, and I couldn't too, she only liked the style, now the way you treated us made me feel your products are disgusting. read more

Customer service rep John is amazing. He went above and beyond for me because there was a small sofa style bench I wanted on clearance and he helped me before anyone else snagged it. Carried it to my car and made sure it was mine! He is amazing and never complained once about helping me. I gave this store 5 stars because of John!Def need more helpful associates like him. I noticed I paid more than I should've but figured maybe I didn't do the math correctly in my head since I'm in the middle of Christmas shopping and making lists. A couple days later as I'm wrapping gifts I went through all my receipts and noticed I was charged twice for a jacket I got my dog. I came back and was told I couldn't get refunded unless I had all items purchased present with me and I explained that I had just finished wrapping gifts and my dog was already wearing his jacket. TJ Maxx has plenty of different locations and this one is located in Whittier. It is pretty big and everything but the clothes selection to me is pretty out of style and the shoe section. The place is pretty organized though but the only thing I bought throughout the whole store were these face mask and eye mask that I have been using this past few days. The masks cost about $3.99-$5.99 for a packet about three- six sheets will be insides. It depends on what brand you get but in general they really do feel refreshing and nice when you want to either put one in the morning right when you wake up to depuff or put one at night when you want to relax and unwind. They also sell high end brands for a cheaper price like toners and creams. But the brands vary and it isn't super consistent. But I have seen Clinique, Shiseido, Origins, Elizabeth Arden, Estee Lauder. So if you see one you should just stop by and see what they have and maybe you'll be getting something that you didn't know you needed. read more

Horrible experience here at this TJ Maxx, paid with my Samsung Pay account then they say they dont accept this even when the payment went through. Samsung pay is link to my credit and debit card. She is very wrong, Apple pay is not accepted everywhere but samsung pay is . I even show her the payment on my banking account. Manager Roseanne is awful, cashier knew nothing was wrong as the purchase went through no issues. Will not visit any of their stores and will let others know this place. I'm rating this store a 5 stars because I most definitely believe they deserve it, this is my moms and I favorite store to go to for a getaway, for relaxing time, and whenever we just want to hang out! I love that during this whole pandemic all the employees are on top of everything! Each time you use a cart they go ahead and clean it, also before you get a car they show you that they cleaned it. A lot of employees here also have a good uplifting mood, I noticed it's more so the cash register people. But very welcoming store, I feel like I'm at home everytime I go. read more

If I could give a 0 star for the service I had today at TJ Maxx I would I had some items put on hold when I came back in 15 minutes they were gone They did not put them on hold they just put him straight back to the floor so I had to search for all my items Again. I even confronted the sociam that put my stuff on hold supposably I asked her where my stuff was and she said who Me. I told her yes I just spoke with you 15 minutes ago I just left the store I told you I'd be right back and she said oh they probably put everything back. Really. I gave tho place two stars because I like to shop here and most of their employees are nice, its the mangers that are the problem! I don't know their names, but they both happen to be African Americans and based on my last visit, it compelled me to write this review. The man manger is always indifferent, and never friendly. I visit this place too often to chop it up to him having a bad day. Its more like a bad decade. This latest visit, I was looking at sheets and asked him if they were organized by size. He rudely, if not acted as he was bothered, said no. No explanation, small talk, or Im sorry"s. Just a rude dismissal. Then I asked him another question and he straight out ignored me. I didn't continue bothering to get his help. As I went to check out, I happened to walk right in the middle of lady manager training a very sweet girl. I caught her saying as I walked up, " you have to get 10 credit card accounts per day, don't think you, can say you can, Period!" First off, aside from the fact that you are forcing your employees to get the consumer to apply for unwanted credit card and get us in debt, it is in VERY bad taste that you training her on this subject while customers are present. What is worse, is after I made a friendly remark with the friendly new sales clerk about not getting in debt, a young man, who was very flamboyant, walked by and said, "we all sell out sooner or later!" WHAT???? How RUDE and inappropriate and the worse thing is the manger lady DID NOT SAY ANYTHING and she most definitely heard. Good location. Good variety of clothing. Incompetent manager and cashier (one in particular) . I come here often but will stop after today. I went to return a bike and some shoes. They made a big deal about the shoes and tried telling me they don't sell bikes. Ultimately they returned the bike I bought from Anaheim location but not they shoes because according to the cashier "they were worn ". According to the manager i "damaged them " keep in mind the stickers were still on and they didn't consider the fact that people dirty them from trying them on. Last time I'm coming here. read more

I am a maxxinista! TJ and Marshalls are my go to places to shop everything! This particular store is where I landed my very first retail job a loooong time ago. This TJ is pretty organized, nothing like Ross on the other side of the shopping center. I wish they had more fashionable clothing but they have a good selection. read more

Visited store on Friday, Oct 25 2019 and this will be my last visit! Started at the jewelry counter. The saleslady named Rosie was very professional and helpful, like visiting Macy's! I strolled away to look at some other items, so other customers could have her attention. Meanwhile, I see this same woman inmy area of shopping each time I visit another section of the store, and when I look up, just gives me a silly grin? I see her again and I now believe she is following me. I just brush it off assuming she was a homeless woman in the store with no direction. I also see and hear this guy that I assume must be the manager because he keeps interfering with the sales people and the customers right in the middle of transactions giving suggestions on how to do things better! How annoying and embarrassing to the salesclerk! The experience is beginning to feel Like a 99 cents store visit?! I tried to step away from the clerk so she didn't feel humiliated! Now I'm thinking let me get out of here asap! I asked the clerk what happened to this store? The vibes suck! She said this was her second week! Told her well you probably should call your manager to help you with my transaction because I have my reward certificates. So she does. And lo and behold the one I thought was a homeless woman was the manager! So, she refuses my rewards because I had printed them from my computer without a barcode and one reward had expired! But they all had a certificate confirmation number on them!. I had 6 of them totalling to $70! But even after I tell her how I had gone online to check on my account and found all these rewards, she didn't listen! Guess those listening skills were missing big time and she wanted to play me stupid by asking if I had a tjmaxx account? So I'm thinking what's going on here? Didn't I just tell her I was online checking my account?! Then all I could do was laugh and realized she was trying to play me stupid by asking if I had an account! My response to her was... what are you suggesting.. that I printed the rewards from Wal-Mart! It was better when I thought she was a homeless woman coming in for some shelter! I left there and used my reward certificates at Marshall's! Marshall's told me the reward certs never expire ! Never again! And Marshall's had the same jewelry! Their store is much more organized, the staff always cleaning the aisles and the vibes were pleasant! I used all of my rewards and spent another $100! read more

Absolute worst customer service! Tried to return a pair of boots that were marked on clearance and the incompetent store manager Ramona Christopher, would not honor my reciept or the tags still on the boots that were bought a week before I attempted to return. First time ever being at a TJ Max. I found Great clearence deals in the kids clothes section. Liked it better then a Ross and Burlington coat factory. Staff was very friendly. My only thing was the restroom. The women's restroom was really gross. It smelled, the toilet seat lids were really loose. Used toilet paper every where. Just wasn't very clean. Very nice visit to this TJ Maxx. My mom and I were in the area and decided to go shopping. Although some areas were a little messy, it seemed like there were always employees coming to straighten up the products. Some employees however weren't very smiley...but maybe I just smiled at them too much. Lol anyway, overall great experience. This location is about 25 minutes away but it's worth the drive.
