After learning that the other town tailor charges at least $5 more per item, I was off to the shop. Celina is the proprietor and seems to make the alterations herself. The business is very relaxed. The ambiance feels like you've walked into someone's home and you're greeted and treated as such. The work is great. I've had pockets fixed for $5, pants shortened for $10, and shirts tailored for $20. All were in rough condition before, and now they're all fit to my specs. Clothes behind the counter spanned from kids dresses to adult jackets, so I think she is ready to handle anyone. I would recommend those that can handle a relaxed business atmosphere to use Celina for alterations. She also speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English - so chances are she can help you too.

I never got a call so i went in to see what was happening. turns out someone else picked them up, so now i have a con-point. CON: they are not a stickler for "you only get these clothes if you have the exact carbon copy receipt". this allows someone else to take your clothes without proof that it is theirs. the place is cash only, so there was no way for me to trace who paid for my pants. Nice lady working there, but the fact remains my two pairs of pants disappeared from their store. Until those pants show up, I'm not going back for their service.

I don't usually write reviews unless service is either stellar or someone really angered me. This, fortunately, is one of those former times. I've been to this place two or three times over the years. The first time it was just for suit tailoring, nothing difficult. The suit came out great and I was very happy with it. The second time was after that same suit got horribly stained. I thought for sure I would have to replace it... I'll be damned if it didn't come back looking brand new. The third time, I brought my wife in. I had purchased her an expensive maxi dress that didn't quite fit her correctly. The gentleman behind the counter had her change into it and then began to clip areas until it hugged her figure just right. He took the time and answered all of her questions and then went so far as to reassure her that they could do anything they wanted her to do with the dress. Upon our return to pick it up after being tailored, it looked perfect on her. High marks for this experience. The last time, I brought a pair of pants in to be tailored. Well due to mitigating circumstances, I completely forgot about them. They must have been hanging there for about 2 months when I went in next to drop off some more clothing. To my surprise, he had those pants waiting there with the others when I came to pick them up. No extra storage charge or anything like that. I just paid for the dry cleaning. This is how businesses should work! My single regret is that we live far enough away now that I can't frequent this place as much as I'd like, but I'll still make the trek for tailoring service. I'm not bringing an expensive suit to just anyone.

I brought it in on May 19th and told the seamstress I had a wedding to wear it to on June 20th. I specified I wanted the style kept the same, it had three layers of different lengths silk, I knew it was a complicated ask, but i thought we came to an understanding after talking through Google Translate. She assured me that it would be ready in time, but asked that I come back in on June 4th for a fitting. She told me $38 for cleaning and $100 for tailoring. I paid that day. I come back in June 4th, she said she was very busy and didn't have time to pin it yet, so to come back the following Wednesday. I come back then and all the layers were pinned the same length about four inches off the ground, she said it was too complicated to keep the original style she had to do same length all the way around. I kindly said never mind then, I will just suffer in heels, asked to please refund the tailoring and just to dry clean it. She told me the cleaning would be $48 (ten dollars higher than initially discussed) and to come back in one week (today june 17 -4 days before the wedding) to pick it up. I said fine, came back today, and she only refunded me $70, said she had to charge an additional $20 for the pinning!!! I was upset because she was unable to do What she had told me she could do. I would have never left my dress there for four weeks if i knew she couldnt do it. After inspecting the dress when I got home, I noticed slight tears, some staining, and where there was white spots now there are black spots. She told me when I picked it up "silk is very difficult", I told her 20 times when I was leaving it 100% real silk, the dress cost over $1k!! I'm so upset. This is my first bad review I've ever wrote a business. editing to add the chest area of the dress is damaged. it seems like she used chemicals for synthetic fibers instead of treating it as silk.
