A dive bar but pretty popular. Only reason I go there is because they have a game machine.

The bartender tonight was a douche. We came in happy and joking around with each other and him and by the time it hit 1:15a he started acting like a jerk. We had two drinks each while there & he acted all annoyed when we asked him to make a Washington Apple and the result wasn't anything like the shot should have been. ‍‍ Not our fault he couldn't bartend. For some reason, every time I wake up from a night at the Locker Room, my tongue tastes like ashtray (or what I imagine an ashtray to taste like)...and I don't even smoke! cheap vodka cheap ladies cheap men cheap drinks I kinda like it and yet, I don't quite remember every detail. I know there's pool table, a janky lil bathroom, a cool bartender and a few regulars (some I get embarrassed to recognized because..hello, what does that say about me?) It's a dive bar..and it's not too meat-marketie where you need to worry what you're wearing how perfect your hair looks..etc. Trust me when I say no matter how bad you might think you look, there is someone here that will out ugly you, I can promise you that... Good times...expect a hangover as well as the possibility of waking up with some strange guy's phone number in your pocket and the only thing you can make out in the drunken letters is 'jail guy'. I won't be calling him..but I bet he's just dyin' to 'conjugate'. Won't be with this chick...though I bet somewhere during the evening I lead him to believe that he could. I don't know what other people expect when they go to a dive bar, but you've got to anticipate at least a little "ew gawd" going into it. TJ's is an excellent example of a dive, but that's part of what makes it great. There's always a game on, the drinks are cheap, and the regulars are a crack up to watch. There are pool tables and a couple arcade games, karaoke on Thursdays, and some awesome times to be had. Give dive bars a chance! read more

The Bar: Located in a strip mall next door to a massage parlor and a liquor store. Upon entering the front door, the hallway is loaded with pictures of crazy nights of the past, including plenty of nudity. Once inside, there is a long L-shape bar seating about 20 people, some scattered tables, and a long bench seat on the west wall. In the rear of the bar there are two well maintained pool tables with straight sticks (which is uncommon for a dive). The Crowd: Tonight's crowd was a flash back from the past. The reason this bar was chosen was a friend of mine was in town from Idaho and this was the local stomping ground. Just about everyone in the bar was an old friend. The rest of the patrons consisted of a could of old men, and a handful of college kids. Service: With one bartender on duty service was a bit slow, but expected. Prices: $8.50 Domestic Pitchers, $6 Shots of Fireball, $3.50 Domestic Bottles. No PBR though. Entertainment: 2 pool tables, 6 TV's, Internet Jukebox, 2 arcade games. Restroom: Fuckin gross. Stinks like piss. Someone reported that the toilet tank lid in the women's restroom is made from tin foil. Closing statement: Before coming to this bar many people mentioned it was a crap bar. I usually am a huge fan of dive bars. It's easier to get a drink and a seat however a female bartender by the name Ernie or Whatever her name is with brown unkept hair and short likes to be In customers personal business. She will text and even spread rumors about customers she doesn't favor and makes the environment uncomfortable. She's probably been working at that spot for years but don't make new customers feel like your the host of the party and they're not welcome by gossiping about them. Word of advice don't share your personal life to this bartender. It's unfortunate cause i usually like to invite new friends to this bar as I am very social, however will begin to suggest the one up the street instead. read more

Let me qualify my five stars. YES it's divey, YES it's pretty gross, YES the crowd can be dicey, but, yes yes yes. Sometimes the grossest, diviest placest are some of the most fun. When I lived in Yorba Linda and used to come to TJ's like every night, my cousin jokingly nicknamed me "The T.J. Hooker" on account of how many times I left my car in the parking lot to walk home. Yeah, I was going through some stuff, don't judge me! The bartender was always a super nice guy, and totally kept his cool over a lot of things that he really had every right to be a jerk about. I've been here a few times and all my experiences were somehow unpleasant, which actually owes nothing to the establishment itself. It's one of those places you always see someone you don't want to, but for some reason you keep going back expecting it to be different this time around. I recommend going Thursday night for some karaoke, or one of the most fun times I've had there, in the afternoon/evening for some free chex mix and fun conversation with the bartender. If you're from the area and don't mind bumping into old acquaintances, check it out, everyone seems to know each other there and tend to be welcoming to new faces. read more

I have been going to TJ's for a long time now. It is definitely one of my favorite bars in Orange County. The bar is a fun, friendly, dive bar. Pool tables, darts, jukebox, and cheap drinks. What more could one want? This bar has friendly bartenders. They do not serve food but allow almost anything and everything to be eaten inside the establishment. Awesome. The reason for a 4 star review is because of Thursday night karaoke. I really hate karaoke. read more

Used my debit card to open up a tab and explained to the bartender that I wanted to pay with cash. When time came to close out she held onto my debit card and, instead of placing it on the bar while she accepted my cash, she held onto it and made sure she handed it back to me at the same time she accepted my cash. This place is alright. The service is 3 stars, the mixed drinks were 3.5 stars, and the atmosphere is about 3.5 stars....all depending on what type of crowd you like to be around. For a locals bar, it's pretty chill. I really prefer to come to dive bars like this one on a Sunday. Thats when you get a real look at the heart and soul of a bar. And on a Sunday at TJ's you can see small groups of wasted folks having a Sunday Funday, the diehard lush locals who are so dedicated to getting plowed alone they order food in and eat it at the bar, and if your super lucky, the bartender from the 6am-3pm shift will still be there completely wrecked and laughing louder than the music. If I want to spend Sunday in a vodka haze, this is just as good a place to do it as any. And if you get bored, just wander over to the wall by the front door and look at all the pictures from yesteryear of various older patrons getting stripper grams from girls that look like they may have played Juggies on Married with Children. read more

Been going here on and off for 20 years, it's a dump. Bathroom is disgusting as hell. The place smells like a homeless person with urine stained pants. The owner is a god awful person and she has a mouth like a truck driver. Don't use a card because they will charge you for drinks you didn't buy. Overall fairly cheap drinks and cheap girls to go with them. I have had plenty of great bad times there. If dive bars were awarded medals this one would win gold. read more

This place is absolute trash. Last night a few of my friends and I came in here to play pool and have some drinks. The old hag of a bartender with blue hair harassed us the whole time! She was rude, couldn't make a drink even worth drinking, and didn't know how to properly deal with customers. She ID'd all of us, which is absolutely normal, but before even CHECKING my girlfriends ID she says "Ha! nope!" And throws the ID back at my girlfriend. THROWS!! Incredibly rude and uncalled for. So we kindly ask her to check it again, she does, and realizes shes ABSOLUTELY wrong to which she decides to say "whatever. Just don't smoke pot in here. You all wreak! I can smell it all on you. What do you want to drink?" WOW. rude as can be once more? Especially when none of us were smoking before we came in there??? We order our drinks and we ignore her rude comments. When we get to me, I don't order. Because I don't drink anymore. She has the audacity to talk trash about how im not drinking and it's dumb to be here and what not even though we were playing pool??? She wouldnt stop trash talking us to all the other bar patrons for the entire night? It was an odd obsession. That bartender wouldn't know her a$$ from her elbow, Much less how to mix a drink. No wonder her daughter smokes pot, it's to get away from the fact that her mom acts like a complete child when shes wrong. read more
