My boyfriend and I moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and decided to check this place out after hearing a mix of opinions. I'm genuinely glad we did. From the very first visit, every experience we've had here has been overwhelmingly positive. The bartenders are welcoming, attentive, and clearly take pride in what they do. The drinks are consistently excellent, the food is surprisingly great, and the atmosphere feels authentic in the best way--like a true neighborhood spot that's been built on years of community and familiarity. Given some of the negative things circulating, I want to say this clearly: nothing we have seen or experienced here aligns with the accusations or hostility that's been directed toward this establishment. Our visits have reflected professionalism, respect, and a space where people come together to enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company. It's rare to find a place with this much history that still feels genuine and inviting. This is my local. I love it here. A lot of people don't realize this is THE ONLY bar in Yorba Linda or Anaheim Hills. Yes, there are restaurants with bars, but they don't count. This is a REAL bar with bands, a jukebox, karaoke, pool and a regular crowd. If you don't want a REAL bar, it's not for you. And that's okay. But if you do, this is the only option in the area, and it's a great one. A lot of people also don't realize that they have food, and it's a lot better than you expect from a dive bar, but still at dive bar prices. The steak special, burgers and brunch specials are all bargains ... and they're not just "edible" ... they're VERY GOOD! The red head bartender fucking sucks and is rude. I ordered a shot chilled and she gave me half a shot everybody knows a a chilled shot is watered down and her co workers were giving me full shots. She purposely took out my buddy's food and his condiments and placed the condiments in front me before my food. My husband and I have come here a few times and every time has been a little funky. Bar tenders are always great by the way, but the people who come here are creeps. We went tonight and I had two men touch me, and one followed me into the bathroom. I was about to flatten this sucker but thankfully my husband, brother and his boyfriend came around the corner. This guy was a white male, light brown hair and brown eyes, baby face, and was acting clueless when he did this to someone else about thirty minutes prior. Made it a point to visit for Sunday playoffs and could not have been more satisfied. Great crowd, cold beer, hot fries and good TV coverage. Crowd was mid-thirties to Boomers and everyone was respectful of each other's team spirit! This place has received some extremely negative reviews most recently regarding their attempt to explain the events over the last two years. I would venture most respondents have never set foot in the place and have no first hand knowledge of what really may have happened and only are regurgitating what they have been told, second, third or fourth hand. read more

Nightmare Experience! My girlfriend and I went in for a drink the other night. Before our drinks even arrived, I had to step outside for a work call. When I returned I saw some old dude putting his hands on her (she's only 32 BTW) and her clearly objecting and pushing him off of her. I ran over and shoved the dude off her (he did go away). Before we immediately left, I demanded to talk to the manager to complain, and instead wound up talking to the supposed 'owner.' 5 of us went to the Canyon Inn for their Tuesday night "steak special" and to celebrate a birthday. We arrived a little after 7P and there were only a few people sitting at the bar. The waitress finally took our order after sitting there for at least 20 minutes. She brought our drinks and then we sat there for another 1 1/2 hrs waiting for our food. She apologized and offered us a round of free drinks because and said they had a substitue cook. It was 9:30P and our food still had not yet arrived, even though the cook came out and apologized for the wait & said that it was still going to be a little longer before our food was ready, so we left without eating. I think if they advertise Tuesday as "steak night", they should be prepared to make steaks. We will never eat there again!!! read more

I am writing this review with some slight reluctance. Not for the sake of the Canyon Inn being a place to avoid, just the opposite. After sampling over half the menu, I now feel fully able to give my honest and unbiased opinion. The Canyon Inn is simply one of the best-hidden gems in all of Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda. I have become something of a regular on Tuesday and Thursday nights and have made it my mission to sample the entire menu, and after sampling over half the menu, I can say I have not been disappointed once. Everything, and I do mean every item, I have had has been near gourmet quality. Not just in terms of "bar food" but in comparison to franchise chains like Chili's or Fridays. In fact, the food here surpasses those by a mile and then some. The man responsible for these amazing entrees is the bar's regular cook Robert. I am not exaggerating when I say that he has turned simple tavern dishes into something that of an art form. The point is that the term "cook" isn't truly a correct moniker chef seems more apropos. Additionally, every bartender/server I have come in contact with has been friendly, accommodating, attentive, and downright genuinely friendly. One bartender of note is Delores. When she is serving drinks, you will get, a nice welcoming conversation, some good laughs, and always be greeted with a warm and big smile on her face. Other standouts have been Danielle and Alexsys and if you aren't greeted by the ever-present charms of Delores Danielle and Alesys make up for it in a large way. Now a word of caution. This is not the place to go for a quick drink and a quick meal. That isn't to say the service is slow, just leisurely. Which translates to not being in a rush. With the food and top-notch drinks that they serve, taking your time and enjoying your meal won't be that much of an issue. The easy-going pace of the join will also serve you well as I have struck up several friendly and fun conversations with some of the other patrons who are here to enjoy savoring their food and beverages. The bar also is home to pool tables, DJs, live music, and food and drink specials that knock the price down off of an already reasonable amount. To put it in simple terms, I have always enjoyed my time eating some delectable food, listening to music on the well-stocked jukebox, and engaging in warm, lively, and friendly conversations, and have now cemented myself as a regular. Extra kudos go out to Paul Ambrus and Terri Glennan who have been successful in maintaining the look, feel, and atmosphere of the local taverns I remember when I was a kid. read more

There wasn't that many people when we arrived and it stayed pretty slow throughout. Canyon Inn is Overcharging and ripping you off. We have lived in Yorba Linda since 1989. We have been to Canyon Inn hundreds of times over the decades. We went to Canyon Inn tonight 12/28/2023 and brought 6 friends. I ordered a Cosmo for my wife. The guy at the bar said it was $10.00. I gave him my visa and asked him to open a tab. My wife ordered a 2nd Cosmo. I expected the total to be $20.00 + 7.75% tax $1.55 check total $21.55. Add 20% tip on $20.00 = $4.00. Grand total with 20% tip should have been $25.55. When I received the tab it was $27.92 without any tip!! On the check it was $12.00 per Cosmo (NOT $10.00 like he said) and = $2.98 tax (which is 11.95% NOT 7.75%) + $0.94 admin fee. To sum up what is going on here. #1.Canyon Inn is adding 20% up front on the price of the drinks. #2. Canyon Inn is charging 11.95% sales tax (Orange County sales tax is 7.75%) #3. Canyon Inn is charging $0.94 on EVERY check for admin fee. I did NOT see this fee posted anywhere and I did not agree to pay it. #4. If you tip 20% like I do minimum. Then you are actually paying 45.2% over the actual cost of your drink the way Canyon Inn is running this scam. 20% up charge 20% tip 4.2% sales tax over charge and 1% unauthorized admin charge. (Keep in mind you may have already paid 30% +/- income tax on your money!! & God forbid if you carry a balance on your credit card at 25% or more!!) Sorry for all of the math!! Enjoy your drink!! We will be notifying EVERYONE that we know in Orange County that Canyon Inn is overcharging & ripping people off. Take your business elsewhere if you want to send Canyon Inn a clear message & don't want to be overcharged. There are plenty of other places around the same area that are not ripping their customers off. read more

I use to like coming here. Until bartenders started complaining, refusing to serve people. Bartenders I liked a lot changed attitudes. And then today happened...I ordered THE last beer they had on draft. Bartender said they don't have any taps that pour anymore... I said, well, I guess I will take whatever you got. So, I had one. Then next I asked for another. But the one keg they had popped! And I was left with a third of a beer and foam. I said I will take whatever you hav in the glass....I mean, it was a long day at work and my car broke down on the way home...I didn't even complain...just left my $3 tip and left. Uggg. First of all, it's NOT an "Inn"... There are no rooms to stay in, it's really just a 'bar' with a funny name (should have been The Canyon Bar or something instead). A friend told us that if we were ever in the area we should "Check out The Canyon Inn" and that they had great food and drinks. Well, of course we ended up getting a room somewhere else, but ate dinner there just the same. Mediocre food at best. Burger was DRY, DRY, DRY!! Sent it back and got one that was... You guessed it DRIED OUT!! How do you do that?! Twice?!? Wife had the Chicken breast sandwich - not dry... it was undercooked!! Sent it back and got it right the second time around. Prices are pretty good though but drinks are a little bit on the strong side... Wife had a vodka martini, but it came as a 'dirty' one even though she said "no olives" also... So why would they pour olive juice in? Duh! I ordered a 7 & Coke and was treated to a drink soooo strong it was nearly clear! I had to drink an inch's worth and ask for more coke to make it taste right. Clue here for bartenders... STRONG drinks taste funny! Better to sell TWO drinks that taste great instead (you'll get TWO tips too!). Oh, and there was music too... WAY TOO LOUD!! I hate it when bands and DJs think "Louder is better" - just like the cocktails, it's NOT!! That coupled with the slight 'hum' in the system just ends up wearing people out mentally and physically. If you think you need MORE sound, think about more speakers OR spreading the speakers out so people farther away can hear it but without it blasting! But, two points for the staff who were kind and handled out food and drink problems without making faces and for the prices of the food. But I really wouldn't 'recommend' going here. read more

Hadn't been back to the Canyon Inn for quite some time. When I was looking for places that had live music or dj i remembered this spot and decided to try it out again. The music was varied, playing everything from 90s hits to hip hop to Cardi B and country. The crowd was younger than it used to be. I recall this being the locals hangout if you were over 35 but not anymore. Most were couples between the ages of 22-29. Looked like the one bartender was a little overwhelmed at times but the other staffers were friendly and helped out later in the evening. Bathroom could use some picking up but overall had a good time. If you're looking for a no-frills hangout spot with lots of tvs this is it. read more

(Especially since my last favorite burger place closed down during Covid) The food was great, they had our preferred drinks, and the burger was LEGEN.... wait for it... DARY!!
