    CHOWDER FROTS. Yummy!!
    Laurie G.

Back again! Chowder Frots are still at the top of the list. Decadent.... This place has the best chowder I have tasted in a long time. The bacon wrapped shrimp was good. Love casual dining atmosphere. The best part was Ben. Great personality, engaging and knows his food.

Loved the first half of our first experience and then the second half was disappointing and lackluster. Came in on a Friday late afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised it was happy hour until 6pm. We ordered wine, beer and a few shared snacks. The mussels, grilled cheese & soup and the fish & chips. Of these, the only one that was good value was the fish and chips. Mussels and clams would not order again. For $11 the portion was so small. Saw a regular portion and might just order non happy hour next time if craving. The soup was delicious, the grilled cheese, not so much. Fish and chips came with 3 big pieces and delicious fries. We ordered the fried oysters from the main menu but unfortunately never got to try them because the order never came out and our server was super attentive for our first orders and checked on us once but never again after that. Towards the end, I actually had to double check we didn't have to pay at the front we had waited so long and watched our server sit down and talk to another table for 10 min. We thought after she'd check on us but she didn't. Anyway, would check it out again to give it another chance but hot & cold first impression.

We came in on Valentine's Day for some snack food and beverages late afternoon. I was too hungry to wait for our actual dinner. They had Valentine's Day special cocktails which looked very tasty. Restaurant itself was cozy with a spacious bar and patio area. We had popcorn crawfish, soft shell crabs and steamed mussels & clams. I am not a huge fan of Cajun style seafood but the appetizers we had were delicious. I rarely eat fried seafood and they were surprisingly tasty. The service was great and fast as well. We will definitely visit again!

Tried this place on a weekend and luckily it wasn't busy. I wanted to check this spot out because I was trying to compare it to the Vegas Oyster Bar, although the food was decent here I'm still on the hunt for someone as flavorful as the Oyster Bar I love in Vegas. We ordered their gumbo and their house pan roast. The 2 dishes were decent but wish they had more flavor. I felt like a flavor was missing and also the spice level could've been better. It did take a while for the food to come out considering it was only 2 items. Will have to come back to try it again and maybe try their oyster. Service: 4/5 Food: 3.5/5

I've had this spot bookmarked for years since I love spicy and Cajun food. Maybe I hyped it up too much in my head, but the experience didn't fully match my expectations. The food was good but nothing wow. First impression, the place is clean/simple but didn't give me any "seafare" or South Louisiana feel. But, the service and friendliness of our waitress is very good. Secondly, the menu selection is surprisingly great! As for the food - the fresh oysters are great! The fried oysters are especially delicious--but I love anything fried, so take that with a grain of salt. The beignets are just okay. The pan roast is worth it, but I'd skip the lobster roll.

Absolutely love this location! We often frequent here with family to enjoy the HH oysters and Pan Roast. Staff here is extra attentive and really make you feel like family. Don't sleep on the kid's chicken alfredo. It's actually a pretty big portion and super delicious. Brussel Sprouts are also really good here too. Overall amazing spot in Yorba Linda. We always have the best time here. Their patio is pet friendly and they offer grilled chicken for our dogs too!

Empty oyster shells. It was Kumamoto, shigoku and Misty Point.

First time here. Wife found this place on Open Table. It's a steam kettle cooking. But no bar side where you can watch them make your food like most of the kettle style restaurants I've been to. Place is nice and clean. They have gender neutral and woman only restrooms but no men's room. It's my birthday so I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters with Kumamoto, Shigoku and Misty Point. Kumamoto is my favorite oysters, it was salty and sweet. The Shikoku was very salty and the Misty Point had no taste at all. My wife ordered a pan roast with chicken and andouille sausage with an add on of shredded crabs. She said the mild was not spicy enough but the medium was too spicy. He said it was good and the portion was perfect. I ordered jambalaya with shrimp, calamari, mussels and andouille sausage. My medium heat level was perfect. They have a lot of selections on their menu. We have been to other kettle style restaurants and the portions to me were smaller than the others. Would I recommend this place and would I go back. Yes I would. Bonus item is after dinner you can go get ice cream next door down.

Clam chowder disappointed. Thin and watery, and bland tasting. No clam flavor.
    Wendy B.

For a place that wasnt even on my bookmark list, this almost made the 5 star ranking, but not quite. Chowder matters, you see, and that was our only complaint. It was thin and sadly bland tasting. It seemed to have way too much parsley and little-to-no herbs. Not at all what had been represented by other Yelpers. We've had much better. However, the rest of our meal was superb. The Shrimp Louie was quite good, but the plump Fried Oysters hit it out of the park. The batter was light and not spicy, although it did have a delicious cajun seasoning. And, no, they do not shuck their own. We normally have to head south to San Diego to find respectable fried oysters, but I think The Dive has successfully endeared themselves in our hearts. Nice place. The menu was very interesting, carried a delightful list of good Ole Louisiana Creole dishes. The interior is delightful, spacious, very clean. The service was excellent and friendly. And the prices were just right, not too uppity. I could be easily tempted to try some of their gooey bread pudding! Not sure if this location offers brunch, but their brunch menu (posted earlier this year) looks awesome. All in all, a very pleasant experience that would definitely make me want to come back. And if that isn't enough, we are thrilled there is a Bruster's Ice Cream shop just steps away. But that is a different review. Looking forward to next time.

GRILLED CHEESE & PAN ROAST and FISH N CHIPS

We stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't too busy and we were able to be seated immediately out in the patio with our pup. We got the house pan roast, pan roast and grilled cheese, dish and chips and some oysters of course. Everything was delicious and we'd definitely come back again. However, if you like spicy, their hot isn't very spicy haha This location is a lot bigger than the Irvine location. Plenty of parking as well.

    Raw Oysters

TL;DR Must try place for raw oysters. Delicious, fresh, and the texture was amazing. Great service and ambiance. Food I got the jambalaya, mussel fries, and raw oysters. The oysters were the highlight. The best, freshest oysters around the area. The smaller oysters were sweet and creamy. The medium oysters were plump and a little briny or sweet depending on which kind you get. They were shucked fresh and paired very well with their green sauce, fresh lemon, and tabasco. Jambalaya had perfectly cooked seafood, spicy sausage, and spicy tomato rice. I got it spicy and it was spicy, but not too spicy where you can't taste the flavors. Maybe the rice was a little over. The fries had a batter coating, which is my favorite way to eat fries. The mussels were soft and were cooked in tomato based wine sauce. Topped with a garlic aioli. The only thing is it was saltier than I'd like. Overall, good food, but a little pricey. Service and Ambiance Our server was so sweet. She had a great way of making sure I was enjoying my food and time. She was professional and very down to earth. The ambiance had a pretty blue color for their booths and had with Christmas decorations and tasteful Christmas music.

    JAMBALAYA
    Catherine B.

TLDR: best and probably only Southern creole food in Orange County I'm so happy that a good cajun/creole spot opened up close to me! The jambalaya comes very nicely spiced (the only miss is that the celery is not cooked enough for my preference; it's pretty much raw and crunchy), the cioppino is hearty and flavorful, and the fried oysters come with this addicting ranch/tartar sauce. Everything on the menu looks good - I'll be back to try their famous pan roast, mustard salmon, and clam chowder. Service is also fantastic. We dropped by at 4:30 and there was one woman who was handling all the tables and making all the drinks. Kudos to her! There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Pretty new and clean restaurant in a pretty full shopping plaza.

I've been a regular at The Dive in Temple city since they opened. I was very delighted to hear that they opened one in Yorba Linda as well! My coworker and I came after work for their happy hour and let me tell you it definitely did not disappoint! Their happy hour specials were amazing - the deals included both food and beverage specials! It is Monday through Friday from 2 to 6 PM. Between my friend and I, we got half a dozen oysters (2$ each during happy hour), fish and chips (delightfully delicious fries), and the clam and mussels! We also got a few drinks to celebrate our Friday evening! The food was extremely fresh, and I would definitely order each dish again. Because it is so hot, I ordered this sangria and it was so refreshing! The restaurant itself is extremely clean and welcoming; however, the number one thing worth mentioning is the service. Omar and Ernesto went above and beyond to ensure that our experience here was nothing less than perfect. They made sure that we were tended to, and our drinks were always filled! People always say they go to a restaurant to try the food, but they always come back because of the amazing service! The service offered here was definitely one for the books, and I will definitely be back again. Shout out to the owner for hiring such amazing people! See you next time, The Dive!!

Their front of house focus is the wine bar, but they also have a good cocktail and martini menu, as well as a nice selection of food items. The interior is warm and cozy with two different seating areas. The larger front area has bar seating, quite a few tables, and a lounge area in the back corner with several couches. There is another area in the back which is smaller, and houses their cocktail bar and a number of two seat high top tables. You can order anything on the menu from either area. We sat at the bar in front for some Sunday evening cocktails and small bites. We started out with the spinach & artichoke dip ($15). The dip came out very hot, was a big portion, and was very good. However, the menu said it came with toast points, but instead it was served with tortilla chips which were just ok. The advertised toast points or fresher tortilla chips would have made this appetizer better. My first cocktail was the Limoncello Martini (vodka, fresh Limoncello, lemon juice, $15). I usually love anything lemon and this was a good martini with light lemon flavor. She started with the Purple Martin Martini (vodka, raspberry puree, pineapple, $15). This was another good martini with light sweetness from the raspberry and pineapple, not a sugar bomb. We wanted a little more food, so we ordered the Caprese flatbread ($18). It was a good size, and the dough was great. It had a good amount of cheese and tomatoes, and I really liked the balsamic drizzle on top. However, it did not come with the basil that was listed on the menu. Next, I tried the Peperoncino Martini (vodka, Italian Peperoncino brine, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, $15). I loved this, one of the more unique martinis I've had. She liked her sip so much, she ordered her own for number three. Her second cocktail was the Carmel Apple Martini (carmel apple vodka, Licor 43, lemon, star anise, caramel cube garnish, $15). Most of the time, you would expect a caramel apple martini to be a sugar bomb, but not this one. The flavors were great with a light sweetness. And who doesn't like a caramel square treat? For my last one, I had the Cinnamon Sleigh (bourbon, cinnamon spice, maple, orange twist, $15). This was a good sipping finisher with light cinnamon notes and those great orange aromatics. KJ was our server, and she was very sweet and friendly. We came early in the evening and it was a little slow, so we chatting with her quite a bit. I'd take a half point off for the two food items not coming with the listed items, but rounded up to five stars overall. The bill had a 3% charge added for using a credit card. The decor here is very cute - showcasing their cheese fridge and shelves lined with wines and jams available for purchase. There are some tables both indoors and outside. I recently saw that they host events, offer quick same-day catering within 2-3 hours of ordering, and deliver for orders up to 50 people! Always coming back for their cheese boards and great happy hour!

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The Moroccan-Spiced Chargrilled New Zealand Lamb Chops…read morewere deliciously seasoned and quite tender even though I had them prepared medium-well. The roasted cinnamon apples and cranberries really added a nice flavor to the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts. And unlike many restaurants, the Brussels Sprouts were roasted and not burnt to a crisp! Our server, Shay, was amazing. Shay was attentive, but not overly so. She was very personable and addressed each member of our party by name. She was also very knowledgeable about the food offerings and wine selections. We also got to meet and talk with the owner, Earnest Ross. Earnest has created a very special place for people to mingle and unwind! His restaurant has a very welcoming vibe with great music playing in the background. We will definitely visit California Vintage Wine Bistro the next time we visit SoCal!

I went to this restaurant with a group of five friends after a Juneteenth event at Downtown Disney…read more The vibe was super classy and dimly lit, very elegant. There didn't seem to be a dress code but people were mostly dressed nice. The service was phenomenal. We were greeted by the owner himself and he made sure that we were seated and comfortable and helped us understand the menu and their wine selection. Our server was amazing as well. She was very attentive in taking our order. For food I ordered the crab cakes, the shishito peppers, and the Atlantic salmon with the chimichurri sauce on the side. I substituted the mashed potatoes for French fries because I don't eat dairy. Everything was delicious and a little different. For the shishito peppers usually these are served with a tangy sauce and the shishito peppers are blistered. With this dish the shishito peppers were still blistered but they were served on a sweet mustard sauce. For the salmon that was also delicious, served with vegetables. The French fries were great. The crab cakes were pretty good. Now if you're from Maryland you are not going to like these crab cakes, of course, because you're from crab cake capital, but for California crab cakes they were good. I would definitely come back here. I didn't get to try the wine but next time I will definitely try some of the wine and some additional food dishes.

I loved this place!! I wish I didn't make this my last stop…read morewhile walking around the, Anaheim packing district. By the time I came here I was already stuffed. Who doesn't like a good cheese / charcuterie board? After I went up to speak to one of the workers on how this whole thing worked. I had the pleasure of, Celeste helping me My head was spinning with all the choices. I got the board where I picked two cheeses, one meat and then you get two sides. A sauce counts as a side. So I picked a nice mustard And dried apricots as my other side Then I heard someone talking about wine tasting?!?! So of course I had to do that?? Once I picked which ones I wanted to try for my wine tasting, Celeste, asked if it was ok if she came by and poured my wines one by one vs brining them all out at once. I was a little worried she would get distracted, and there would be a little bit of a wait, since I didn't sit at the wine bar, I sat at a table instead. But, Celeste was on top of everything. They NEED a -Pique-Nique, wine, cheese and charcuterie board bar at south coast plaza, lol. This is such a cute place to come to with your girlfriends. I am personally a pro at making charcuterie boards lol. However, if you don't have the time or aren't gifted at making them. This would be the perfect place to come and get one made to bring to a party! Or just a girls night in They also had sandwiches and salads For me? Sweeter the better. So my favorite of the wine tasting was The -Electra Red Moscato Quady Winery, Madera, CA sweet, strawberry, pomegranate It was mostly wine, but they did have a couple cocktails, some beer and a few mocktails / nonalcoholic beverages Also, this place is women owned. I will 10000 percent be back. Especially since I can literally live off of cheese, bread (and wine) lol Great service Great atmosphere Great variety 10 stars if I could.

I've come here a few times. A few people have served me, but it's mostly Ryan. They have a good…read moreselection of wines and the Boujee Bar Snacks are really good. I will update this if I've tried the sandwiches and pique snacks. The prosciutto and chips plate is great and so is the Bresolini bites. I recommend it with the Speck.
