I don't really do Yelp but I thought this place deserved some love. I've been coming to Hopscotch since it opened. I'm happy to say that this place still holds up to this day. I always get the barrel aged old fashioned or orange blossom. Pair that with the empanadas or tacos (which are absolutely delicious for bar food). I do miss the ribeye and some of the other entree options. Service is top notch. They make some of the best cocktails in the area! Thank you to Hopscotch and their crew. So decided to come support (: might be biased but great music and I'm not drinking currently but the bartender still made me feel included when I ordered a cranberry juice or pineapple, they put a garnish for me or a little lime so that it still felt like I was part of the social aspect of drinking. Everyone hyped this place up. Idk. I didn't really get it. It was alright drinks. We got Grandma Apple Pie whiskey drink which consisted of bourbon, lemon, cinnamon, egg whites and pear liqueur. And an old fashioned. Neither of them really stood out. And with the price (which again wasn't too bad compared to other areas), it didn't make it any better. It was pretty early in the night when we got here. Around 9pm I believe and it was just starting to pick up. Service felt more like it was 1am and the bartenders energy felt like they were annoyed and over it. The lower bar was closed to a private party and so everyone had to keep to the bar area and outside patio and we were packed in. It's a great list of whiskey. And I would come back during a less hectic night to try the whiskey and chill out. read more

I wish it came with more fries for the money. The quantity is like a large fry from Chic fil a. The Cajun Fries were hot and crunchy, the quantity was a good and shareable, the only thing I wish was for another sauce. I would recommend to order these over the waffle fries if you have a group due to the size. But if you're ordering for yourself, waffle fries are better. The Buffalo wings were really good, nice big meaty wings, but for the price it should come with at least 4 more. If you are ordering for yourself, I would recommend these. The Cookie skillet came out nice and hot, it tasted really good. It was really good flavor with a nice vanilla ice cream on top. I would recommend to order this if you're sharing this for 2 people. All of the drinks were nice and cold, overall I would recommend to come here. Overall I gave it a 4 star because of the quantity of food for the prices. Our favorite dish were the bacon wrapped dates. The presentation isnt great but they are sooo good. The hamburger sliders were ok; they were just sliders, no extra flar. The heart attack fries with chicken were good but were overpowered by the chicken. It was more chicken than fries. We are locals and have gone multiple times. Nicole the manager was absolutely amazing! I ended up having my pilot graduation party here, super last minute with over 30 people in attendance due to another restaurant falling through on their end last minute. Nicole was so amazing accommodated us with no problem! Was allowed to keep a cake in the refrigerator, put up some decorations, she reserved multiple tables in the downstairs area for us, everyone enjoyed their drinks/food and it had great music throughout the night! Hopscotch hosted our 20 year high school reunion. We couldn't have picked a better venue! We all had a blast! The event coordinator (Nicole) was super easy to work with. She was very accommodating and responsive. She catered to our group's dietary needs and even played a playlist we put together. The bar itself was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and it was very spacious for our group. We loved the overall vibe, the drinks, and the delicious food. I just don't get this place. I'm guessing it's a late night venue for college kids, because it's always dead when I'm in there. They have a good cocktail program, but the arrogance of the bartenders is off-putting. Like they're doing you the favor. The food menu is a combination of a high school football game snack shack and a Mexican food truck. It always makes me chuckle when I see French fries as an appetizer option on the menu (served with ketchup!). No real entrées to choose from. None of the menu compliments the cocktail program. "I'll enjoy an espresso martini, and an order of nachos please." I'll try this place again when someone who knows what they're doing is running it. read more

Most of the staff at Hopscotch Craft Beer and Whiskey were polite and professional, which made one server's behavior stand out even more--in the worst way possible. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and openly condescending, acting as if customers were an inconvenience and beneath her. When I asked a simple question about a drink, she clearly didn't want to answer, responded with attitude, and showed zero effort or professionalism. Her behavior was unacceptable and completely out of place in a service industry. One bad employee like this can ruin an otherwise good establishment. Reason I give Hopscotch 2 stars is my husband has celiac, so he cannot eat gluten. When asking how they can accommodate they could only offer him a lettuce wrap burger for $20. If you have celiac, you know how frustrating that is because not only does a lettuce wrap burger not fill you but it's usually one piece of lettuce on a patty. It is 2024... many people have dietary restrictions and the fact Hopscotch doesn't have options is disappointing. Not sure if we would come back. Hopscotch Tavern is located in downtown Fullerton and it's a really cute bar. I ordered the Strawberry Sunset (Mule Cocktail) and it was pretty good. It was a bit strong for me but overall not bad. I want to try their other cocktails on the menu the next time I go. We sat in the patio area and it was so nice. The bar is very big overall but I would recommend sitting outside on the patio. It's pretty loud inside with all the music but they have seating inside too. The patio was pretty crowded but it was so pretty with the lights and loved the vibes. Can't say enough great things about our favorite Friday night spot right after having a long week at work. Yelp review ratings don't do it any justice . The staff ,Sylvie, X, bar tenders,bar backs and props to the chef for the best shrimp tacos and that's coming from someone that goes to many taco spots . Pretty hip whiskey bar. They were playing 2000s R&B like usher and Mariah but also current R&B artists. They had a throne with a neon sign downstairs, an outdoors with heaters, and indoors with lots of western relics. Something for everyone. I gotta start off by saying, I've always been apprehensive of the Fullerton area. It's never been my area to visit, but when my friend showed me the whiskey and beer, I knew I had to try it out. I ended up going with the Rye or Die and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It was a flavorful mixture of coffee and whiskey, which are two of my favorites. With one, I was definitely in a much better mood then when I got there. My friend went with a beee and we ordered the short rib poutine fries to snack on. The fries were really good. I wish they had a larger size of them. Our server Silvi ended up finishing her our shift before we planned on being done, but we closed our tab with her. We were tempted to order more, but the waitress that was covering us after her didn't stop by. That was a bit disappointing, but we ended up deciding to try another local spot. Food was just not very good. And mediocre food at a great tavern is a big miss. Service is fast and friendly, as busy as they were they were always on point with checking in and keeping the drinks going . The beer and whiskey selection is phenomenal. Everybody got something they liked. Would definitely come back for drinks, but would not bother with the food. Music was a little loud and got progressively louder on the outside, but it was a Friday night. The inside did a weird thing where it sort of changed into a "Dancefloor" but nobody was dancing, and there were tons of dance lights and a DJ.
