I only go here for APA Pool league nights. They have 3 tables and the bartenders are all attentive and friendly.

On 11/18/25 at approximately 1:00 PM, my partner and I visited this establishment. What occurred during our visit is documented here as clearly and factually as possible. Upon entering, we observed five to six male patrons seated at the bar. During the time we were inside, these individuals engaged in a series of comments and "jokes" that referenced Black people in a derogatory manner. One of the statements made was a question intentionally structured to prompt a well-known racial slur ("a Black man whose description begins with N and ends with ER"). Although the slur itself was not spoken out loud, the wording and delivery made the intended implication unambiguous to anyone listening. Throughout these remarks, multiple individuals turned around and looked directly at me, making eye contact on more than one occasion. This happened each time one of these "jokes" was said. Based on their repeated acknowledgment of my presence, it appeared they were aware that I could clearly hear the remarks. The bartender on duty, a heavier-set woman, was positioned within direct hearing distance of the comments. She audibly laughed at several of them and did not intervene, redirect, or indicate in any way that such behavior was inappropriate for a public business environment. The conditions of the establishment are also relevant to note: The interior had a strong sewage-like odor, and the facility appeared poorly maintained based on what was visible during our visit. This review is not written out of anger but to provide an accurate account of what occurred. The combination of the patrons' remarks, the staff's response, and the physical condition of the establishment created an environment that felt unprofessional, unwelcoming, and inappropriate for any customer. read more

I checked the reviews before walking in and was surprised that "steaks and pasta" was even in the name of this place. Walking in all this place appeared to be is a bar. Only high tops and a bar area. Wouldn't dare to try the meats here, maybe pizza or fries. There were two bartenders working who were drinking and hanging out, seemed like fun guys. Pretty sure they were the ones who would make and run the food, because I didn't see any other staff. Drinks were on the pricier side. We had a cranberry vodka, gummy bear, 2 drafts and the check was almost $30. We played pool and hung around so we just made our own fun. read more

I live right down the street from this place so I decided to skate there with the new deck I just bought and grab a beer. I never go here because my last experience was trashy/weird and the crazy, blonde bartender had someone across the bar insert pills into her mouth. Weird ho.anyway tonight I sat outside minding my own business and the owner came outside and started lecturing me and his employee about Trump (employee ran inside to avoid this). He then said how I am a 35 yr old man on a skateboard pretty much Insinuating I'm a loser. For the record I'm 26 and I voted trump his first term and now regretting it. He then offered to buy me a shot because he knew he fucked up.getting fucking crazy on me and I said no and ignored him and he went inside. I poured the beer all over the floor and left. This place is disgusting! Where to even begin?? You walk inside to a room full of people smoking, INSIDE yes INSIDE! Isn't it against the law to smoke inside a food / bar establishment?? We decided to brace the smoke filled room and ordered some chilled tequila shots, which we noticed were full of black specks! When we brought this to the bartenders attention he said "sorry my shakers pretty dirty, and my ice is probably dirty too" what kind of twilight zone am I in right now?!? We were then refused new drinks without debris in them, which was a good thing because after I came back from the restroom that was full of broken wall tiles and mold, I wanted to run out of this place read more

Sooo went for a drink... Guy at the bar wanted to buy us drinks but obviously had hostility with the bar tender and she would not let him buy us drinks.. She was really rude to the guy and he spent a lot of money and the bartender straight up told him I don't need your money .. The owner was there and threatened a patron in front of us .. Something about the patron sticking up for the bar tender and the Owner telling him to mind his place ... So obviously a lot of in house hostility.. We Are from out of town ( like most this year) .. I don't want to be to harsh but I was not impressed. It smelled pretty bad inside the bar( and old dirty dog kind of smell) waited at least 10 minutes at the bar for a beer and it was not busy, dead actually the whole time I waited for the beer I got harassed my what appeared to be the resident very creepy and dirty regular old men . The only way I think it may be ok is if you were coming to play pool with a group of people, I can't see there being a wait for the tables. Unless it's pool league night of course. read more

So I walk in with a friend place is empty were talking no one but me n my buddy. no tail what so ever. So bud sits down has a beer. Trys to have a conversation with the owner...and oviecly the guy knows sports so my bud starts talking sports and guys being total di*k. Stand offish for sure. Seems like he just hates hes life or something. Oviecly if you own a bar you will be dealing with people whom been drinking. Guys attitude totally sucked. I agree with Toddy and Gordon. The help is friendly but the owner is known to very impersonal/unfriendly, moody and has bullied several of my friends there on occasion. Pretty uncomfortable and hot in the summers. On any given night is could be full of about 15 people, or completely empty, so you never know if it's worth getting out of the car for.. I don't quite understand the vibe there. We quit getting together there a while back, to drink and play pool as a result. Beer Hunter and Neil's is more happening, cheerful, and friendlier! read more

I'd rate it 0 stars if I could. I called in and couldn't make out what the bartender was trying to say because she was so inebriated. She couldn't help me out in anyway, couldn't answer any of my questions she would just start talking about God knows what that had nothing to do with what I asked because she was so drunk, hung up on me 3 times. They let patrons leave their bar completely wasted, obviously to the point they can't drive even after multiple people tell the owner that he shouldn't let them drive home. He brushes it off quoting: "he's got his bar under control n it was none of my business whether my friend got home ok" because "he took care of it." Which he did not, she drove home. Luckily I was able to have a friend of hers check on her and she wasn't injured but just car issues. If you want to go to a bar to get shit faced without anyone caring whether you get home ok, TJ's is the place to go! After 18 stitches in my forehead and $10,000 in medical fees from a drunk man hitting me with a stool for NO REASON whatsoever solely because he was shit faced and confused me with someone else, I think that's a good enough description as to what this bar holds their "standards" to (if they even know what that word means). All in all, avoid this property at all costs. Sorry I'm not sorry for speaking the honest truth about this place. Everything I mentioned is factual. If you're reading this Joel, (the owner) get it together before you get a lawsuit or run your "business" to the ground. People only go there to get hammered and no one stops them from getting behind the wheel. I'm sure you know that's a responsibility of yours as a bar owner to make sure your patrons get to their destination safely or that's a lawsuit and you could lose your business license. Place is a good hangout spot. Pool tables are enjoyable. They have a coin machine to break your dollar bills so that you can use to insert into pool tables to play ($1 each game). When I was there at 9pm on a weekday, place had like 10 people there (mostly men); people were really friendly (seemed like regulars at the bar - very chit-chatty). Name of the bar "TJ's Steaks Pasta & Spirits" is not the full name anymore; there is no "Steaks" in the name; obviously because they don't sell steaks here, which I was expecting when I saw the name on Google Maps. Don't plan on eating a big meal here; they only sell snack food which ranges from $5-$15 like chicken wings or french fries or mozzarella sticks. Bartender was super nice though (overweight Caucasian male); there was only one bartender working; and one cook in the back. Place is really clean in my opinion; all tables were clean that I saw.
