My third time going here and I had the worst nail experience in my life. The young girl doing my pedi was also removing my old gel nails. She used way too much acetone, completely soaking the cotton and then wrapped up my fingers in foil for the entire duration of my pedi. Towards the end, I felt my fingers hurting, so I took one of the foils off and saw the acetone was making my nails warp into a circle! It freaked me out so I took all of the foils off and tried to tell the girl that they hurt, but she laughed it off, and then started to put the foils back on. I thought she didn't understand English but then she said something in her language to the other lady and I heard the word "gel" so I don't know what she's thinking forcing me to suffer by putting them back on. Then she tells me that it was normal for that to happen. I felt super uncomfortable because I'm not one to make a scene, but after she painfully scrapped off the old gel, she tried to convince me to get gel nails again when I said I wanted a regular mani instead, now that I had experienced that. I went and sat down at a manicure station and got told by the other lady that my nails were too thin and I should get a regular polish. What I don't understand is why they need to file the top of your nail until the point that it does get thinned out? My nails have never been so thin before coming here. To make matters worse, she didn't apply any cuticle oil after the acetone had completely ruined my cuticles and didn't even do the lotion hand massage. I felt rushed out of there. Got referred by a friend in the area to go here. They're great. They do quality work, affordable and the people are nice. The only thing I'd mention is to make sure you plan a lot of time if you're coming here because they take a little long to finish everything up. I got a mani/pedi and it was about an hour and half. They are rude. They don't greet there customers. Don't know how they stay in business. I used to go there and get my nails done but stopped. TK would pick off the acrylic that was not loose so he can charge extra for repairs! Anyway I wanted my fingers and toes done fo a wedding. I decided to give them another chance. I went fo my appointment and was talked into gell buildup. Never heard of it, he says it's better, stronger, no lifting, (I never had problems with lifting). He said lot of clients switching over. I said ok. Of course it cost more. Anyway then I got the pedicure, just basic. That took no time. My toenails were still wet and the lady is putting my flips on. Ok then I tell here to leave the paper between my toes cause my toes touch. She rips the paper out and messes up the polish! So now she had to do it again. She ranted something to her coworkers in her language. VERY RUDE. Anyway she did a sloppy job. I later noticed the polish came off one little toe. I had to go back and have her fix it! I like the quality of the gel nails that they do here. Customer service is horrible though. I went here for a year and had two different people doing them. They were unfriendly, rough on my hands (cut with the drill, and did my nails crooked) and were so unpleasant that I went somewhere else. I asked if they could do a pink nail and they said they only have clear acrylic, no pink.??? What nail salon doesn't do pink? I gave up giving them a chance to be nice, but they never will. read more

I had an appointment with Quinn today having waited about 6 weeks between appointments. I felt she was rushed even upon sitting down. I look forward to these times as personal pampering , a relaxing time. I have dip powder nails. Usually she would wrap my nails in cotton and foil soaking off the old product. However this time she used cutters to peel away the old material . I told her it hurt twice before she stopped doing that. I asked her why she was using that technique and she told me "it saves time". I did not receive the customary top coat, nor the cuticle oil, which is customary upon finishing this techniqie. With much of the old coats showing through on the left hand this job was amateurish at best. Her rush to "save time" deprived me of a professional job, and has deprived her of a client. I was insulted that she didn't treat me with the care I was used to from her. She didn't care, and I will never go back. I want to relax and be taken care of when I go for any kind of spa service, I don't want to be hurt by a technique or not valued as a client. Saving 15 minutes isnt worth what I experienced from you Quinn...it's sad....that you didn't even know that what you did was harmful to me. read more

I don't take 1 star reviews lightly, but the gel manicure I received at TK nails this afternoon was hands-down the worst I have had and also the slowest (over 90 minutes). The lady I was working with didn't seem to care when I kept pointing at all the globs of wet polish under my nails and all over my fingers. She kept shoving them under the light despite my gestures. When I insisted she do something about it at the end, she wiped some acetone over my skin which didn't touch the now cured polish and just dried out my skin and turned it white. $55 and I get to go have these redone elsewhere. It's embarrassing how bad they look! I've done better myself at home. read more

Came in Sunday afternoon with no appointment for a full set and an eyebrow wax. Wasn't greeted at all and there was no friendly conversation.. but decided on gel polish over my full set. Was given a sort of wrap for around my neck and shoulders which wasn't warm or cool I'm not sure what it was supposed to do. A man sat down and I had to say hello first.. It always is weird to me when you walk into a place that has a sign that says walk ins welcome and then they treat you like an intruder... Nevertheless this salon is right around the corner so decided maybe there is more to this first impression. Just then I realized that the place is very nice and clean. The music was calming and it was quiet. The man started up a bit of chit chat and the woman who finished my nails was pleasant. The color I chose was #168 love it and she did a 3-d bow for me :-) She also took me into the back for my eyebrow wax.. It looked like a storage room but it was clean and then she proceeded to wax my eyebrows SO GOOD. I have major eyebrows that were overgrown and she whipped them into shape so quickly and nicely I was afraid a bit because she didn't ask how I'd like them done. I'll be back for sure and bring my daughter next time I need a fill and pedicure .. I might have just found my go to place especially for eyebrows .. Which is good for me because it's right around the corner. Overall good experience. I would hope that they would greet their customers .. Maybe they will next time.. I've only been here twice, hands down my favorite nail salon. They take their time, know what they are doing and are much better than the nail salon I had an experience with just yesterday. I will never break a nail on a Tuesday ever again D: I went to a different salon, thumb nail tip BROKE the minute I got home, polish all over my cuticles, hardened gel powder on the side of my thumbs and it looked like I had try skin down my fingers. Ew. Back to my favorite salon. Got my brows(the first time I went here) and nails done here(twice). Love the atmosphere and they put these hot beaded shoulder pads on your shoulders/back and today I almost walked out with mine cause it was as so nice ahaha. I've had the pleasure of being helped by two people who really took their time, shaped my nails, painted them wonderfully. I don't mind being quiet cause I just like to watch anyway and I usually get sleepy while sitting in the chair. I didn't catch their names but they are wonderful. This place was absolutely amazing! My family was visiting my nana for the holidays and decided to get our nails done last minute. We made an appointment for 1:45 but unfortunately wasn't taken until 2, BUT not once were we rushed out of there or did we feel like they didn't care. They took their time on every nail and made us feel comfortable & welcomed. They offer you water, and put hot packs on your neck while you get your nails done. Overall the service was great! I love going here. The ladies are all very nice and helpful. The prices a pretty high but the quality is good and they remember you whenever you come back. It's best to make an appointment beforehand instead of walking in and getting the side eye because they are suuuuuper busy all week. The way they do nails is very precise and you can bring in any picture and they can replicate it in a heartbeat and even add a little more flair and pizzazz to it. They took very good care of us, made sure we were comfortable and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Lots of choices for spa pedicures and different types of manicures. We all did different things, but each of the staff did a fantastic job!! My nails are still great after 2 weeks!! I would recommend this place to anyone in the Paso Robles area. Should have cancelled when they called me at 10:20 while I was in the shower asking me to come in at 11 instead of 11:30. Got there and was put in a pedi chair for 20 mins with feet soaking and hot shoulder pad on then they made me get up feet wet to the mani chair...ok...nails took forever but she ended up doing them really well. Pinterest pic for reference. she didn't want to do then all so we compromised with one nail. Now the toes....she was really sweet but oh my lord how do you mess up a French tip pedi soooo badlyyyy. Uneven pink paint and super oddly cut nails. Plus I said to trim and she hacked. Super upset especially because I've been growing my nails for a while. I tried many nail salons when I moved to Paso. TK Nails is the best salon in town. The atmosphere is relaxing. The staff is super friendly and nice. They care about the work they do, every nail is painted perfectly! You get a beverage with you manicure or pedicure. There is no pressure to get extra services. They do what you ask. Booked a same day weekend appointment. A little challenging to find in the shopping center, as the directions took me to a mobile home park located behind the shopping complex. The tools had some rust on it and it didn't come out of an autoclave packet, so it didn't seem sanitary to me, but the area was clean and people nice. read more

Their nail technicians are regularly booked up, which is a sign of their quality. This place is terrible. I paid 45 dollars for a pedi with gel nail polish. The lady took 2 hours to complete and seemed uncomfortable with her skills of applying the gel. She had to soak off her mistakes and finally I told her I had to go and would be back next week so she could fix her mistakes.. I went back and she fixed my toes. The gel polish came off of several toes the next day. I called back to ask for a refund or for someone else to fix it. The owner "Tk" was rude and said they don't have a policy for people who don't like their work. read more

Instead of greeting me the phone rings and was answered over greeting a client already in the building. I hear an appointment for 3 pedicures and manicures taken and given a slot in the next half hour. I'm finally greeted and told "sorry no time com back later." Not given a time. I have to get her attention again and ask for a time. Which was 2 hours later! Do not advertise that you take walk ins when you really don't. read more

As other reviewers stated, I walked in and was not greeted, but gawked at like I was an intruder. I finally said hello, I am here for a gel manicure. They pointed at a wall to my right and said Pick a color. I did and then sat down at a chair in the front where I was continued to be stared at. I was finally instructed to come back to a chair and they began. Manicure was okay. Did not get offered a bottle of water until I was almost done with the manicure. Also the heating pad was not applied to my neck until I was over halfway done. How did my nails look later that day? Chipped on two of the nails. How did my cuticles and surrounding skin look the next day? Rough. Like I never had a manicure, and a whole lot worse than my hands had looked prior to coming in. (Mind you, I had a manicure done at another establishment 3 weeks before). All of the stellar reviews of this place leave me confused. This salon is nothing spectacular. My technician was not overly friendly and I could probably perform a better manicure myself. This manicure also took about 15 minutes more than the average of other places. read more

I just had my first pedicure at TK Nails. Quynh did an amazing job. The massage chairs are incredible too. I had the luxury pedi & the massage was the best. My feet are so happy!!! TK has been doing my nails the past couple of months and he is the best. I recommend this place all the time. If you want the best in Paso come here!!! read more
