Had a free night while I was in town while visiting the Sydney area so my friends decided to bring to one of their favorite spots for the past couple of years. We had a reservation so everything went smooth and were seated pretty quick. The selection of meats and sides is vast. The thing that stands out on the menu is really the kangaroo. Everything was pretty delicious though. When they get busy it can be hard to get someone to get over to your table but other than that it was cool. Typical style Korean bbq, cook your own food and then destroy every last bite. Good selection of desserts as well which are stored in a little fridge in the front, ready to grab at any point and time. I still give a five star even if the service was not completely ideal due to a busy night. Everything else was great.

I've probably been to this place 10+ times and I've always had a great time. It's the right kind of place to hang out with friends if you wanna eat huge amounts of food for a long time. It's quite difficult to comment on the food as you cook it all yourself - which is a fun experience and doesn't take all too long - and the meat fairly nicely seasoned/marinated. My go to foods are usually: The fish - it's so tender! The ox tongue - which is well worth a try even if you're a meat conservative The pork belly - which is just total goodness. The garlic mushrooms - which are super nice in offsetting all the meat Additionally, there are also unlimited desserts. You can have your try at getting on the leaderboard for most desserts eaten but I can guarantee you won't feel very well afterwards. I love the creme brûlée but my favourite dessert is definitely the pannacotta! This place is definitely worth a visit whenever you're in the area and is one of my favourite spots in Canley Vale! One last thing. The tea here is probably one of the best things you can have. Go on, do it!

Definitely love the accomodating staff and superb service. Portions are very good and still affordable.

Great food. Potato salad is a must try! Meat beautifully marinaded. Seafood also included in the buffet.

Great service. Great food and value as always. Much better than the hot pot next door which charges more.

I usually prefer my beef medium rare, but it got mixed with the pork, so everything got cooked well done. If my beef was cooked medium rare, this would probably be a 5 star review. Sirloin Beef $39 AUD - Beautifully marbled. Marinated Beef Ribs $36AUD - This was good and had generous meat. We ordered too much meat, but amazingly we finished it all, so it had to have been really good. Cheese Corn Side Dish - Okay, too cheesy for me. I bet very few people say that, lol. Tofu Side Dish - I am not a tofu or soup person, so I did not try. They have both Korean and Australian beers, thank you. I chose to drink the local beers, as the Korean brand beers were the same as the U.S. Support locals. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Indoor/outdoor seating were very limited. Semi-open kitchen, see picture. You will be crammed in to maximize space. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 10:30pm. Not sure if they have bathrooms; sorry I can not remember and I did not take a picture. Service - Full service. They actually cook the food for you at your table. Both the owner and waiter cooked for us. I really appreciated that. But I am also sure they do that to turn the tables faster, good business practice. Win/win. Price - See menu, Korean foods are always a little on the expensive side, but when you take into consideration the current US exchange rate, it was a sale for us. :) Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.

The southern side of Fairfield station entertains a number of Lao/Thai restaurants and Khoune Kham…read moreis one that I have frequented a few times over the past year. Traditional Lao Thai food is a bit more adventurous than normal Thai food of the sort you find in Thaitown or King Street Newtown. Conveniently located across the road from the station with parking available right across the street - the eatery is 1 of 3 on this block and probably is in 2nd spot in terms of popularity. I go to this one as each time it is busy enough but I can still walk in and get a table without waiting. This is definitely a family run business and the front of house is run by the kids and the kitchen seems to be manned by the parents/elders. I have received pretty friendly service here from the wait staff and which rounds off a cheap great tasting meal. My tip for ordering at a Lao place is to forego the carbs and order the salads and meats. I don't normally get the noodle, curry or rice dishes - if people in your group can't eat without some carbs, then get the sticky rice to go with the meats and salads. My favourite salad is the Lao green papaya salad with fermented crab. Only ask for hot if you're a freak chili eater as it is HOT! If the strong pungent fermented crab is too much for you, then go for the squid or beef salads - both are good. When eating the salads, nibble on a bit of cabbage or a mint leaf for an extra flavour kick. For something a bit different, get the burnt rice and 'ham' salad - awesome contrast of textures and flavour. As for the meats, I always order the Lao sausage and grilled ox tongue. The ox tongue should be crisp on the edges and tender in the middle - if it is tough then they have overcooked it. Khoune Kham has never failed to deliver on some tender ox tongue. The deep fried quail is also highly recommended. Prices are quite competitive, with most dishes around the $10 mark. I think the correct number of dishes to order is the # of people in your party + 2. So if you have 4 people, order 6 dishes.
