AVOID THIS PLACE -- THEY ARE SCAMMERS! I went for the first time in June, and I immediately had a feeling that they were not professional. They tried to convince me that my son needed treatments that were completely unnecessary. I called my sister, who is a dentist, and she confirmed that everything they recommended was unnecessary. It felt like they were trying to push expensive treatments just to make money. I decided to give them another chance for a routine appointment and to have my son's tooth removed, but they refused to treat him because apparently that was not profitable or convenient for them! Please be very careful and avoid this clinic. This poor child. He was 8. His mouth was a mess. HUGE teeth, tiny mouth, and everything at all the wrong angles. Braces didn't sound fun and Dr Janet offered liners which has worked out really well for my kid. He has more work yet to come but I'm REALLY impressed how great his teeth look after wearing his liners for 30 weeks. They are always very kind and make my kid feel good about his progress. After a few days of going back and forth about the issue, the office issued a refund for the entire year that they incorrectly charged my credit card on file. If I was petty, I would have also requested the interest accrued, but I let it go. Informed my appointment was already scheduled in the back. I didn't schedule an appointment. Needed to request appointment information and demand confirmation of the same. I initially gave them a 5 stsr when I first went in almost 1 year ago. I went in for a cleaning and they recommended I get a night guard. They told me my insirance covers it. Inasked 3 times if it's free because I know i wouldn't use it. They said yes that my insurance covers it. Months later they send me a bill for the nightguard. I call them to ask them what it's about and they are stren on billing me for a nightguard that i didn't want nor care to have. I like 1 dentist there who is professional and one assistant. Extremely disappointing experience. We arrived about 20 minutes late for our appointment and were told we could not be seen because of the delay and there is allegedly 15 min grace period that nobody told us about. While I understand offices have scheduling policies, what makes this frustrating is that during our previous visit we arrived early and still waited over an hour before being seen. It seems that patients are expected to respect the office's time, but the office does not show the same respect for its patients' time. The receptionist's behavior felt prejudiced, unfair, rude and unhelpful, which only made the situation worse. The biggest issue involved my child. We brought our child to this office, only to be told they could not provide the necessary pediatric dental care and that we needed to go elsewhere to a specialist. After contacting my insurance company, I was informed that this office is listed as our primary dental provider and referral too, and is supposed to coordinate referrals to pediatric specialists. Instead, we were simply turned away because the office was not equipped with the necessary equipment and qualified providers to handle pediatric patients. The entire experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. Poor communication, long wait times, inconsistent policies, and lack of proper pediatric services made this a very frustrating experience for my family. We have been patients at this office for several years and have generally had positive experiences, which is why our visit last visit was disappointing. During the appointment, the dental assistant spoke to my children in a raised and condescending tone and was rough while performing a scan, which left my daughter visibly uncomfortable. When I asked that she please be gentle, the interaction became tense and the assistant's focus shifted to repeatedly warning us about a $50 fee next time a bracket comes off, even though the bracket had come off while my daughter was flossing and she was already avoiding restricted foods due to tenderness. I was also uncomfortable with some hygiene practices during the visit, as the assistant's hair repeatedly touched my children's faces and the scanner sleeve was removed before being placed in my child's mouth. In my experience, pediatric dental visits should involve patience, calm communication, and reassurance for children. I have shared these concerns directly with the office and hope they review the situation so families continue to receive the level of care we experienced in the past. read more

Office doesn't look the cleanest. I went expecting to be done within an hour - Procedures for just a cleaning and some X-rays are not very efficient when it comes down to time. It felt like the dentist was mainly there to sell me products rather than tell me what I'm doing right and/or can improve upon. Staff is nice and friendly but services and business practice sucks. We used to love this place when it was at the original plaza. Now that they've moved and gotten together with Bright Now Smiles their business practice has gone down the hill. Each time we go we get a new dentist that doesn't know my kids feels distant. We've been there many years and yes my kid needs braces but all of a sudden its an immediate important facial structure problem and she needs braces which costs like 7k!! Wtf!!! Why wasnt this addressed before. I started going there too since they offered adult dentistry and at first it was nice. Then all of a sudden I received a bill for $400. Mind you when i was at the office they told me insurance covered like 95% and i had to pay $30. I called their billing office (bright now dental) and they told me to call my insurance. Which i did only to find out that what they had done was not covered. So I called them back the billing who told me to call the office. When I called the office I was told to leave a message and billing would call. Surprise surprise I never got a phone call. I eventually had to pay the $400. If I had known it was going to that much I wouldn't have done it. And that was not the first time. They also did this when I went to get a cleaning. Got the fluoride treatment they said insurance covers and then a get a bill. I used to like them. But no more. Since the move they've been greedy and all about the money. My wife brought our 4-year-old in for X-rays and a cleaning, and the team did a wonderful job guiding her through what could have been a very stressful appointment. Dorris and Cindy showed so much patience and compassion -- thanks to them, they were even able to get X-rays from our skittish little one. I had initially called in for an appointment for a consult with their orthodontist and front office scheduled me for a "cleaning and exam".?? Additionally, I GOT CHARGED without insurance when I provided my insurance information prior to visit. I didn't know they were treating me as a "no insurance patient". I HAD TO PAY FOR EXPENSES COVERED BY MY INSURANCE. I literally had to call the insurance myself to verify eligibility and give them that information, still with this done no insurance was recorded. Every time I called I asked "is this with insurance" their response "ohh let me look". On top of all this mishap I requested a refund and Grace stated "we can't refund you until we get paid by the insurance" ok fine, so I asked for my records, scans, etc and was told I had to pay $75. So you owe me a refund and yet still trying to collect more from me because either no one knows how to verify insurance or you're a scam. Absolutely unacceptable experience at TLC for Smiles. We scheduled an appointment, and Mayra claimed she called to confirm--but we never received any call, text, or email. The only message I received was a text that the staff were expecting my children at the appointment. Mayra claims that was an automated message. How can an automated message get to me but not one from an actual person? When we showed up at the confirmed time, they had no record of our appointment, and the dentist wasn't even in the office. We rearranged our schedules and took time off for nothing. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism is shocking. If this is how they manage basic scheduling, I would never trust them with something as important as dental care. Completely unreliable--do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

I did not realize they were charging my insurance for services they never did. I only found out when I got a bill for it because my insurance no longer paid for it due to age. So I investigated past billings and discovered on 4 separate occasions they billed my insurance, and got paid, for fluoride treatment that was never done because I have always refused to have that poisonous foam placed in my kids' mouths. So I talked to billing person in June of 2025 and she said she will contact TLC headquarters to process a refund to my insurance company. It's $75 per treatment that never occurred. They got $300 free money from my insurance for services they never performed. And this month I went to the office again and reminded them about the fraud that had not yet been resolved. They will probably ignore it again and do nothing. My next step is to file an insurance fraud claim with the Department of Insurance. read more

My daughter is fairly new to this establishment. The staff is polite enough in person . Although over the phone they can be quite rude, dismissive and I've been given the run around. I've updated my insurance information to the " insurance coordinator " twice. I've been told they use a third party biller so they are not familiar with all their policies and procedures. The "billing company" is trying to double bill for services before our coverage began, which they've been paid for in cash. They keep submitting the same claim with incorrect documentation and when I bring it to their attention they hit me with, well that's our policy. So my question is are they being lazy ? Greedy ? I GOT SCAMMED!!! I spent $4,500 on Invisalign in 2022 to fix a mild overbite, but the treatment didn't work. They focused on my teeth, but the actual cause was my jaw, which was never mentioned. Now I'm stuck with retainers for life that wear out fast, (Retainers are $500), and my teeth have already shifted back to where they were before I started. The day of the appt, you pay the upfront charge....weeks go by...you forget about ur upfront cost u paid....and then months go by...and then it occurs to you (if it even does)..hey, i havent gotten a refund back from the dental appt. Let me call the dental insurance company. Me: hey insurance co., where's all of my refunds? Dental insurance company: we paid your claims out to the dental office already months ago. Youre patient responsibility for them all was zero. You need to call the dental office and coordinate your refunds back from all those upfront charges. (now this is interesting right? Not only have YOU paid the dental office upfront, theyve been DOUBLY PAID by the dental insurance company IN ADDITION.) *calls TLC dental office* Me: hey where's my refunds for all the past appts ive had for each of my three kids? TLC dental office: (secretly thinking: "oOoOoh...shoot. So u remember we owe u, huh?) we have to do an audit. We'll get back to you in 3-5 business days. 3-5 business days so youll STILL have to continue dealing with this and keep the task on ur plate to REMEMBER to follow it up. All the while the dental office is going to be like, wheeew. 3-5 business days. Let's hope the customer forgets again and we're in the clear $$$. If you have the time to make a bunch of phone calls and be on hold to sort this out with the dental insurance company on the phone (and good luck if you have more than one kid and multiple dental appt dates cause im telling you, youll be on the phone with them for hours trying to go thru EACH claim for EACH INDIVIDUAL KID) and then volleyball back to the dental office for multiple phone calls to relay what the dental insurance company told u, then totally nosedive and indulge in the headache that awaits you dealing with this dental office and it's shady practice. Im owed back hundreds of unclaimed dollars to the tune of like, $600. As i said, i already paid upfront, and the dental insurance company already DOUBLY paid all my kids' several appt claims out to the office in addition. It's like this office is just banking on you forgetting so they can milk you and dental insurance companies. It's such a dirty, sneaky, malicious practice. I go to a different dentist for myself (adult dentistry), and i show up to my appt, pay nothing, see the dentist for the checkup, and head home. I have never been to a dental office where the waiting time is this ridiculous. I've been in three times now and every time I go in, it's been at least an hour wait before I get seen. The second time I went in it took them TWO hours to check me in, do x-rays, and have the dentist review my x-rays. I had to schedule a second appointment to get the actual cleaning because they ran out of time to see me. Today I had an apt. at 8:30am and wasn't seen until 9:15am because I had to hurry them up. My 6 year old hates the dentist, but my experience has always been the best here. Their staff caters to children, they are always assuring, patient and accommodating. We had not been here in years, last visit was at the casita location. So today when we came my child had a little breakdown because she was scared but Alana was amazing. This place is bizzare. My girlfriend has a good experience here so she decided to make me an appointment the same way she made hers. I had my drivers license and a picture of my insurance card with the member ID. They wanted a picture of a different version of the same card. It's the same picture my girlfriend used for hers. Both of our insurance is on there. Obviously discrimination. I called a place down the street right after and they verified my insurance with the picture and made me an appointment. I've been using the same picture for years this is the only place that has ever denied be service because I didn't have the picture of the plastic version of the card and not the paper version. I have taken my daughter to TLC For Smiles since she was six months old. At TLC For Smiles, they provide tender, loving care, and excellent customer service. When my daughter was 1 1/2 years old, she fractured both of her front teeth. Unfortunately, the teeth were not savable and had to be removed. After that experience, my daughter developed a fear of the dentist. But I continued to take her religiously every six months for check-ups and cleanings. Dentists are amazing with kids but office personnel are not helpful. I have been trying to collect a refund for a service that was no longer needed. I have been trying to resolve this for the past four months. Each time I call, the reception team informs me that a manager will return my call, but I have yet to receive one. Ya know, the claim TLC told me I couldn't file because the work they did in October & November "wasn't covered..." Seems TLC filed a claim anyway, and got paid $293.00 for the services I'D ALREADY PAID FOR IN FULL! The claim summary also informed me that I should have been charged $375; since I paid TLC $2,350, they now owe me $1,975. I sent them and their parent company, Smile Brands, registered letters yesterday, demanding a full refund of my overpayment. If they don't comply within two weeks, I'll be taking legal action to recover MY MONEY. read more
