Let me just say, I was having a rough start to my day and was even running late to my appointment, but Dr. Parisa was still so warm, kind, and understanding. A Disappointing Experience That Didn't Match the Promise I came to TLC Smiles after responding to an Invisalign promotional offer, hopeful and ready to move forward with treatment. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several ways that I feel left a bad taste in my mouth- no pun intended. Before my appointment, during an Invisalign monitored phone call, I was questioned about my insurance in a manner that felt judgmental when I explained I would be paying out of pocket. I was also informed -- for the first time -- that I would need to visit a separate dental office for a cleaning and any other work before Invisalign could begin. This requirement appeared nowhere in the Invisalign advertising that brought me there, nor in the conversations with Invisalign, and I found it frustrating to learn of it only after I was already in the process. The questionnaire sent in advance asked irrelevant questions like if I were to take a vacation where would it be? Why should my dentist want that info? I wrote- 'none of your business,' but in hindsight I should not have bother to fill anything out. The day-of staff were friendly, and the 3D scanning technology was genuinely impressive. The doctor was informative and walked me through the treatment plan clearly for restoring the position of my front tooth. She asked if I preferred to do everything, including my bottom, I said I'd consider it. . I appreciated that part of the visit. What disappointed me was what followed. Midway through my appointment, a financial coordinator entered the room unannounced with a clipboard. The moment the doctor finished speaking, she handed me a pen and a quote for $5,500 -- approximately $1,500 higher than I had researched and anticipated. The expectation seemed to be that I would sign immediately. I also want to note that the 18-month treatment timeline quoted here was considerably longer than the 6-12 months I had been quoted by other providers. I left feeling that much of this had been predetermined before I walked into the appointment, rather than tailored to what the scans and X-rays actually revealed that day. There was no quote for just my front tooth and a second for the whole mouth. This felt like I was being politely asked to leave by showing me a really high price and extended time frame. They had to do the exams because of their agreement with Invisalign but made me feel like they truly did not want me as a patient unless I paid about 50% more. One important note for anyone considering this office: the 3D scans performed here are not transferable to other Invisalign providers, so if you leave without committing, you will need to start the process over elsewhere. I genuinely hope others have a smoother experience. My advice would be to ask detailed questions about prerequisites, timeline, and pricing before your appointment -- so you're not surprised at the moment they hand you a pen. I did ask and got no answers other than 'each case is different.' Also noted: Invisalign's own representatives followed up with me multiple times after my visit -- I'd encourage the company to review how their affiliated providers are presenting their program to prospective patients. These visits come with those non transferable x-rays. It's not like shopping around for shoes or cars. Multiple x-rays are not a good thing. I made Invisalign aware of this in their high pressure calls today. read more

TLC for smiles is amazing! I have been taking my daughter here since she was 2 years old and she is now 4 years old. Everyone is nice and patient and gentle. It is so easy to make an appointment and they are open Saturdays which is amazing since I work full time. Every single dentist and dental assistant we have seen has been amazing. They make us feel welcomed and are so sweet with my 4 year old. Today was her first big girl cleaning and with a few tears we got through it and she even told me she loves the dentist! They have a spacious parking lot in the back and the rooms are so big and private! At the end they give your child a token to get a prize and it was the best! read more

Dr. Shrodi and her entire staff are incredibly caring and accommodating. I have been bringing my daughter to TLC Smiles for about half a year, and they continuously amaze me with their warmth and genuine concern for my daughter's well-being. After she first got her expanders, she was experiencing some discomfort and they made a Herculean effort to schedule her for a late night appointment to make adjustments. Throughout the process so far, they have been so understanding with trying to fit her in for last minute appointments when adjustments are needed. We haven't completed treatment yet, so I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the treatment, however, I can say that they truly do care for their patients! read more

TLC smiles used to be a great place to take our children. Through the years the family friendly environment has disappeared. Yes the dr office has grown extremely which is probably why it's only a business now. Customer service is horrible. They make many mistakes with appointments and insurance then they blame the patient. I can no longer recommend this dentist. I am giving this a 2 star because initially our experience was ok. We did phase 1 braces with our daughter, once the braces came off, I went to get a second opinion and we switched dentists/orthodontist and will never come back to TLC for Smiles. I was suckered into using their in house insurance after being told our insurance is not covered. When we were shopping around for 2nd opinions, I called our insurance company to ask if they can send me a list of dentists that are covered and TLC for smiles came up first. I was beyond furious. Our child's orthodontic situation is a little complicated and Dr took a little time to explain our options towards the END of phase 1, but we were not happy with how limited we were. When we went to get a second opinion, it was NIGHT and DAY compared to what we experienced at TLC. Also, whenever there was ANY work that needed to be done (i.e. extractions), it was always a rush. We went to other places to see if they would say the same and they said we can wait. There was an Asian male dentist that used to work there, but I was informed he left sadly. He was REALLY great, and we liked him. But once he left, we were stuck with an extremely rude dentist that totally ruined my entire experience with TLC. The staff were very quick and professional about remedying the situation, but it wasn't enough to make me feel comfortable to come back. Lastly, I liked the girls that work there, but others are a little too scandalous and talk WAY too much. I have seen the same gal several times (every 6-8 weeks), and I feel I tell her the SAME story every time we come in. It's like she doesn't care and then asks the same question as if we never met before. I have a unique job, so it's always a surprise every time I explain what I do, I would assume it's something that can be remembered. read more

I honestly can't thank Dr. Schrodi enough for the amazing job she did on my teeth. She's the best doctor I've come across--so caring, loving, and extremely professional. I always felt like I was in great hands. She truly knows what she's doing and makes you feel comfortable every step of the way. Her staff is also super good--friendly, helpful, and always so nice during every visit. The whole experience was smooth and positive from start to finish. Because of Dr. Schrodi, I finally have the smile I always dreamed of--and it has completely boosted my confidence! I feel so much better about myself and can't stop smiling. We wandered into TLC 3 years ago with little sense of urgency and left with a plan and treatment already installed. It has been as best of an experience as one could hope for given the various tweaks and turns we needed to get my son's case solved. The cost and contract were clear and did not change even as we waited patiently for some of the more unique treatments to take. Everyone in the office is helpful and kind even when we are running late due to the commute. The doctors are knowledgable, proactive and forthcoming with their thoughts and concerns. Jackie is incredibly gentle and patient with my daughter, making her feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire visit. Went for exam with my daughter . they said I had multiple cavities and insurance would cover it and i refused as i dont have any cavities as i had x rays recently fron my dentist who was out of town also chraged for a cleaning they didn't do. The Dentist did a couple cavity replacements in my daughters previous filled teeth ,with nitrous for pain and the dentist was watching tv half the time while almost over gassing knockin her out and unconcerned, he did a terrible job and she needed a emergency repair a couple days later . read more

We were referred to TLC by several of our close friends who love this dental practice. Our child had severe crowding issues and we weren't sure what we could do to fix it because she was still only 7 and we assumed that Invisalign/braces were for older kids. TLC said that she was actually okay to start Invisalign treatment right away. So our journey started much sooner than we thought. Within a matter of weeks, we started experiencing dramatic change. It may be weird to start a four-star review with negatives, but... I cannot stand how the business communicates. There are too many automated texts, too many emails, plus reminder calls, pushy requests for reviews on hold and in person, always having to wait on hold, often having to wait for the offices to communicate or explain things multiple times, and so on. At some point, I called them to beg them to stop sending me so many communications, which were voluminous enough for me to consider stop going to them because I'm (probably irrationally) bothered by such litter. We also have experienced technical hiccups several times. The first time, a staff member insisted that no scans were done even though we had sat through a very difficult scanning session--so they obviously lost, didn't save, or messed up their scans--which left a bad taste in my mouth for a bit. Other (multiple) times, a scan was performed but not done correctly, so we had to revisit for rescans (which is a pain because we live far away). Despite these nuisances, we always receive good service when we visit. The office is very clean. The staff is mostly friendly, communicative, and casual. From the doctors to the hygienists to the front office, they have done a great job with service continuity and accommodating our kid's foibles. And, the kid's mouth has drastically improved as they planned it would. read more

Let me start by saying I was so nervous to take my 2.5 year old to the dentist. I was scared of the unknown and how she would do. We showed up to the appointment on a Saturday (which was amazing that I didn't have to take work off to do this) and was greeted with a smile. The nice lady at the front helped us out and was very friendly. We waited a couple minutes and then went to the back. The dentist came in and was sweet, supportive and understanding that my child was screaming and crying. The exam was quick but thorough and they even gave my daughter a goodie bag that had a shirt, teddy bear and tooth brush kit. My child was initially seen in September 2021. They took my insurance info and said that they would check to see if they covered it. They saw my plan was an HMO that day. They said if insurance didn't cover it then I would be billed. Fast orward to now..we had an appt on Saturday and when I arrived they said my insurance didn't cover it (which is fine) but I was annoyed that no one told me this prior to the apt. If I had known I would've cancelled and worked on finding a place that my insurance does cover. It was a waste of time. When I asked why no one had let me know I was told because it takes a while to verify...it takes 6 months!? Also I asked why didn't they call me to let me know? Was told someone called to confirm the appt but since I didn't answer that they could not leave that on the voice-mail. I don't understand why though...simply stating that our insurance will not.cover it is not a violation of confidentiality. Simply annoyed that no one let me know right away. Since I didn't get a bill, I thought it was all fine. Had I known, I would have looked elsewhere and had a new dentist for my son by now. read more

The people working here are great, it feels like they genuinely care about your well being. While I didn't end up getting any real treatment here(I wanted to get my wisdom teeth extracted but they have a 3rd party oral surgeon come in for it) the people here are very amazing and accommodating. Throughout the whole process they were recommending the procedure that would result in the least physical pain for me. They even refunded my deposit when I cancelled my appointment to see the oral surgeon, and when I called to check on the status, they were super nice and understanding about all my requests. Both the doctors I've met are kind and caring they went step by step and offer me options on what is best for both me and my children.
