Unfortunately, my family had a bad experience. The dentist broke my tooth and attached it back on without informing me. I found out when the tooth fell out and I returned to the dentist office to have it fixed. My daughter's tooth was broken during her visit and had to be extracted at a different dentist office. On a prior occasion, my daughter had a cleaning that was extremely painful and resulted with mouth sores. The tech said all teens complain when they have a cleaning. My son had an injury to his tooth and the dentist pasted his tooth crocked. She fixed it after he cried. The best thing at this location is the free coffee. read more

Be wary of up charges. I have been a patient for a while and my last cleaning with them was December 2025. I had an appointment set for early 2026 but over the last 9 months they cancelled my appointment at least twice. When they offered to reschedule the closest appointment option was September 2026, 9 months after my last cleaning. When I went to check in this morning they attempted to have me pay for a deep cleaning before I had even had x rays or an exam. I was told that enough time had passed since my last deep clean that I was eligible to have another through my insurance. Which is why they were attempting to bill me for it despite them not giving me an exam first to see if it was medically necessary. This is not the first time this has happened since I've been a patient there. Before accepting any charges from them, make sure you are clarifying what you are actually being billed for, as they do not present you with a physical estimate prior to, but rather have you sign all your consent form, sight unseen. read more

I have no clue how this place got anything above 1 star! This is the worst dentist office I have ever been to. The front staff is so rude. My daughter had and appointment at 1pm. They ask you to arrive 15 min before the appointment. I did. Actually I arrived earlier than that but not one was even in the office. There was no sign saying they were out to lunch. It was almost 30mins past my daughter's appointment time and they still hadn't called her name. I just told them to cancel the appointment. I will never go back there again. They are completely unprofessional. AVOID BALBOA DENTAL GROUP AT ALL COST! They are scam artist at that. They always try to push unnecessary services on you during your visit as well. My truck broke down and I ended up showing up an hour late, right at the end of the day. I figured they'd turn me away, but they still got me in and took care of me without any issues. I had also lost my AirPods on my first visit, and they actually kept them safe for me for 2 weeks until my next visit. Can't say enough about that kind of honesty. This dental group reeks of scammy dental practices! I went in for a regular check up and cleaning. I ended up sitting in the exam chair for about one hour explaining/arguing with the dentist and hygienist about why I did not want an elective laser treatment, and that I was really only there for a cleaning. (Other reviews here corroborate their aggressive overselling of laser services.) Essentially, they were trying to sell me these laser services while holding my treatment hostage. After an hour, I finally got my bearings right and walked out of the appointment. The office continued to bill me for imaging even after not providing actual treatment. And worse, turns out the one dentist is out-of-network, separate from the dental group, which they also did not disclose ahead of time. read more

Buyer beware. They are crooks. They have poor billing practices. I paid my account down to a little over two hundred and I looked at my account and there was five hundred added to my account. The girl couldn't explain to me why the balance went up. They told me one amount before I had the work done and it changed. Watch your balance people because they can't be trusted. I used to be not willing to go to dentist, but when I knew it was time... and a friend referred me to Dr.Davari, and I should say, she literally changed my whole dental experience. She was very professional, knowledgeable and made me feel safe at the dental chair, and I have enjoyed my visit way more than before. I really loved that she genuinely wanted to help me save my teeth instead of just pulling them out, and this is what I am thankful for! Dr Co is awesome! Had a big chip in my front tooth and he fixed it so perfectly, that even in a 10x magnifying mirror, I couldn't tell, & I'm damn picky! I'm not one to give glowing reviews, I normally expect good service where I go, however I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Balboa Dental Group in Granada Hills. The staff was super friendly from the moment I walked in. I'm always a bit nervous as I go to the dentist, but they really put me at ease and made me feel comfortable. It felt like they were actually happy to work there, which is something rare these days. The waiting room was so clean, which is always a good sign, but I didn't have to wait long as they got me in pretty quickly. The patient room was also clean, and everything felt really new and updated, as you can see in the picture. They even had this state of the art machine for crowns, hadn't seen anything like this at my old dental office. The dental hygienist was really nice and helpful as she prepped me for Dr Ekizian, who was just awesome! Dr. Ekizian patiently listened to my issue and explained everything she was about to do, which really alleviated my fears. She was very gentle and I didn't feel like I was being poked, prodded or tugged at like previous dentists at other offices. I'm so glad I was referred to this friendly neighborhood dentist with all the latest amenities and I'd like to pay it forward by referring the Balboa Dental Group, in Granada Hills, to you. read more

The officer manager seemed nice, much nicer than the people I've dealt with here before. They cancelled 1 out of 2 children's appts on the same day and stated we booked the wrong second Doctor like it was our fault. We have email confirmation of appointments with the same Doctor for both children. I don't like being lied to and getting an inconsiderate last minute cancellation. I'll take my business elsewhere. You should really go to a pediatric dentist if you have kids. This place recommended that to us. read more

Went for a regular check up, was seen by Dr Marina Elkess, she is very knowledgeable, explained everything I needed, ( deep cleaning) she is gentle and did the deep cleaning her self, she speaks fluent Spanish, the entire staff is very nice and professional. I just endured one of the most ridiculous exchanges imaginable with the Office Manager. They refused to service me for a regular cleaning appointment based on the fact that I recently had Covid. I have not had symptoms nor fever for 10 days. They knew this in advance as it was discussed with them in advance of the hygienist calling me into the room. The hygienist then insisted that she wouldn't be able to complete a cleaning based on an arbitrary 14 days. The office at no time notified me of such a policy (I guarantee they don't actually have one). Moreover, the Office Manager kept falsely invoking "CDC guidelines". THERE IS NO CDC GUIDELINE stating that a routine teeth cleaning cannot be performed for 14 days after Covid symptoms. There never has been and there would never be a reason for it yet the Office Manager kept repeating that the "CDC guidelines are constantly changing". Just to be clear, this is NOT their office policy. They refused to provide it or even show it in writing anywhere. They DO NOT have a policy of not seeing patients only after 14 days post symptoms of Covid. Once they had said it their egos prevented them from admitting they were lying about non-existent CDC guidelines reccomending that routine teeth cleanings not be done for 14 days after symptoms abate. Additionally, the Office Manager conceded that they would treat me TODAY if I had a release from my own physician. How in the world would my own physician supercede their (imaginary) policy? They had already lost my family's business by this point. Take your business elsewhere. read more

From the staff at the front counter, to the dental assistant, & especially the dentists. My dentist made me feel so comfortable & at ease. She addressed all my concerns so graciously. & the best part? I had no cavities or any other issues. Balboa Dental Group is a fantastic Group of people that work hard, and are very pleasant and skilled assisting all of their customers. I saw this on a Saturday where Balboa Dental Group hosted a free Dental Day for low-income individuals that needed all sorts of dental assistance. The Office Administrator, and several customer service individuals meet customers as they enter the office. They greet you with a smile, and make you feel as comfortable as one can that has to see a dentist. They are very nice. I had Dr. Ben Sargent working on my dental issues, and he was gentle, and it all worked out very well. their Hygienist was also gentle, but thorough. She worked to keep my teeth and gums clean and strong. As of November, I have now obtained dental insurance, and as of January 2022 I will be going to Balboa Dental Group, to support their great attitudes, skills, nature, and work to better many lives. Please believe the many reviews that claim this office to be crooks and frauds. I had the absolute worst experience with Ben Sargent, DDS. My original issue was a missing bottom front tooth, so he recommended I get a $6000 bridge. I have a medical condition that attacks my salivary glands and causes excessive decay....even my restored teeth are falling out. After expressing my concerns, I went ahead and trusted his professional judgment, but it was the wrong decision for my mouth. I was still charged for the initial work he did and the temp bridge which left me in excruciating pain for months. He said the teeth he shaved down under the temp bridge were only sensitive because they were "exposed", but he was wrong...they all needed root canals. I clearly needed implants or fixed dentures, not an expensive, temporary fix that would not last. The teeth under the bridge would also soon decay and the bridge would need to be scrapped. It was necessary to get most of the teeth under the bridge pulled because he shaved them down to tiny nubs. Then when he delivered the partial denture I will be wearing until I can find a more trustworthy, affordable dentist to do the implants (I was quoted $70,000 for implant dentures here), he told me that it was totally normal for it to be falling out of my mouth, to be unable to eat with it in and for the teeth in front to be crooked. He spoke in a condescending manner and made me feel embarrassed for needing to wear a denture. When he originally recommended the bridge, he told me I was too young for dentures. Why does my age matter when Sjogren's disease is causing all of my teeth to decay & fall out? It only made me feel more shame for my situation. He kept telling me that dentures are an unfavorable option and they are all uncomfortable, ill fitting and less than ideal. Obviously, I'd love to be able to afford implants immediately, but that is not currently financially feasible. He did not have any empathy for what I had been through or for the only option I have at the present time. Then when my partial broke and I asked about getting a more comfortable, durable cast metal design, he told me those are not much better either and I was quoted $2000, which is no where near the price that is outlined in my insurance fee schedule. He even told me that fixing my acrylic one would be costly & futile, so basically why bother. I'll just walk around with a broken, crooked, ill fitting partial that I can't eat with, then. Thank you so much Dr. Sargent for making me feel judged and inferior for needing to wear a denture. I am in a remarkably worse situation than when I walked into your office because of your recommendation and left in tears today for how you made feel. I will never return to this office again. read more

At my appointment they kept me waiting for a long time. i went to sleep and I was still waiting when I woke up. I didn't complain because I thought it was a one off. My kid went in and after waiting for them for 1.5 hours they were still waiting for a cleaning. I went in and complained. Immediately a hygienist went in to do the cleaning. Apparently she wasn't happy doing the job as she then gave my kid the worse cleaning of their life and they had cuts on their tongue and cheeks. Don't come here. When I was talking to Katie (one of the front desk people), in the middle of our conversation picked up another call without answering my questions. That was rude and pretty typical of what I've experienced at this office. I question whether my kid really got checked or was just passed off because I complained. read more

I agree with the other reviews to beware of over charging. Had been going to this dentist for years as a loyal patient. Needed a temporary fix of an old bonded bridge that fell out. The receptionist had said that they discussed the price with the Dr and he said it would be a certain price. I asked to speak with the Dr directly to see if he would lower the price because it was quite high for a temporary fix. She was being rude and kept repeating that's the price they set. I then finally spoke with the Dr. and he begans to tell me he does not set the prices. Lol, smh. Well I ended leaving and found a dentist closer to my home who did an amazing job fixing it and charged me less than 1/2 of what they were trying to charge me. Beware. This dentist will find anyway to charge you an arm and a leg. All my insurance covered items end up costing more than just paying out of pocket anywhere else. They upcharge and upsell more than a crooked dealership. I very much regret coming to this dentist. They tell me one price before the procedure and another when it came time to pay. I was referred to Dr. Ekizian by my co-worker a few months ago and I kept procrastinating with making an appointment. Over the weekend while eating an almond my crown fell out --- OOOPS! So I was forced to call on Monday and got an appointment on Tuesday. Shelbi and Marine, ithe office managers are da bomb with PERSONALITY PLUS -- they will have you LOL!!! (They even took their own selfie for this Yelp review ...too cute)! All jokes aside, they are so efficient, helpful, flexible, friendly and professional. The dental assistant, Jessica, did all the X-rays -- smoothest ever due to their state of art equipment! No poking your gums and teeth with those sharp little boards. I was impressed. Then I met Dr. Ekizian and one word to describe her: SWEET!!! She is the nicest dentist I have ever met in my entire 56 years! She took the time to listen to my concerns with a lot of empathy and that was very important to me. She is an amazing dentist because I didn't feel any pain - extremely gentle and talks you through the process so there are not any surprises. Was charged for a deep cleaning that came with two follow up appts. They cancelled my appt without notifying me. I showed up, the receptionist said "oh we texted you to cancel". I didn't receive the text. Why wouldn't they just call me?? I was upset because I blocked out half my day for this. I asked for a manager to call. Never heard back. Called a few days later and asked for a manager again.. never heard back. The customer service is lazy at best. I will dispute charge on my credit card because I never received the two follow up appts. This could've all been avoided had a manager return my call. Such a shame because the dentist is great and the guy that did my root canal is also amazing. read more
