They moved a mattress for us today, and when they brought it into our home, one of the movers wasn't wearing a mask. I told them to leave immediately and the response I got was "it's hard to breathe when wearing a mask when moving things." Yeah - it may be hard for me to breathe if you've brought COVID into my home. We've also had a billing dispute with them on a prior occasion and this time "lead" mover treated his employee quite poorly. We won't use them again. read more

I was shopping at a furniture store in Seattle today and was working with the salesperson when a delivery guy from TLC rudely interrupted to say he was picking up a table for someone. He couldn't provide any helpful information, didn't know what he was picking up and provided the incorrect name of the person who purchased the items. When the sales person asked him multiple times to provide the information needed to proceed, the delivery guy exploded, calling the sales person, "a little B!$@#" multiple times. The sales person, understandably upset, told him he would take the conversation outside when he was done working with his customer. This delivery guy was very unprofessional! We did not hire this company. Instead, we awoke one fine morning to find their massive truck wedged in the alley behind our house, with no clearance on either side, and smashing into the trellis fence of our deck and nearly doing the same to our neighbor's fence. Any competent moving company would have avoided even entering such a tight space, but not this one. It took about 20 minutes for the owner and driver, Craig, to extract the truck from this ill-advised maneuver, but not without further damaging our fence. Craig was apologetic at the scene, and left his business card. He offered to attempt to repair the fence himself, but we declined and said we would contact the original contractor who installed it. Now Craig is refusing to pay for the repairs, claiming that our fence was at fault for getting in his way! If you are looking for someone slightly shady to cut some corners for you (literally and figuratively), this may be the right company. But if you care about the safety of yourself and your neighbors, avoid TLC Moving and Storage. read more

A company I work closely with needed a 3000+ pound safe transported from their shop to one of their customers' businesses. The safe was very high-security with very sensitive mechanisms that if disturbed during transport could cause problems with the safe. The crew with TLC Moving and Storage arrived on time and made professional and smooth pick up and delivery of this very expensive safe. Everyone involved was extremely impressed. My interior designer hired these guys to deliver a bedroom set. They agreed on 2.5 hours of moving and labor. These guys showed up 1 hour and 15 minutes late and because of this did not have access to the moving elevator or the moving dock, so they hard to park down the road. They also brought their biggest truck instead of their small truck because the small one was out of service, complicating the parking issue. One of the employees stripped some of the hardware and so they had to run and get replacement hardware. It was one thing after another with these guys. They then sent my designer a bill for an extra hour worth of labor. She refused to pay it as that was not part of their contract, and the extra time they were there was because of their issues. The next week I received a letter in the mail stating that they were going to take me to small claims court. I called to ask Craig Elliott why he was suing me. He said it was because my designer was a witch and he wanted to go after her. I asked him why he didn't just go after her. He responded that because I am here in Seattle and and she is out of state so its easier and because I have money so the court will more likely rule in his favor(I kid you not) . These guys are horribly unprofessional. Do not use them. There are way better options out there. 6/23 - I called Craig today and informed him that the designer would pay him for the time he waisted because she is tired of his harassing phone calls and verbal abuse. I told him that I had posted a negative review on yelp. He laughed at me and said "do you think I care? I will make you look like the stupid one". Judging off his other comments on his negative reviews, I am sure he is a small enough man to do just that. Anyone who doesn't like his service or his verbal abuse - has mental issues according to him. STAY AWAY! read more

At $90/hr, the price was right for moving furniture around inside my house. But scheduling the move was painful due to Craig's aggressive behavior over the phone. I asked basic questions about whether there was a written agreement, whether I would receive confirmation of the appointment and whether they could move a stacked washer/dryer. Craig was especially obnoxious when asked for their UTC number (that's the permit issued by the WA Utilities & Trade Commission that licenses household movers). His spewed replies were less than professional. Later, I found online reviews that say the same thing about Craig. Perhaps he has issues with womxn? (Just a heads up in case that's your presenting gender.) I'm glad I found another mover to do the work and canceled my appointment with them. read more

TLC must stand for Toxic Language and Cursing. After reading the reviews I realize I am just one of many customers Craig has screamed at. I went to pick up a table I had shipped to TLC this morning. Craig was gruff to start with and then charged me double what I was quoted over the phone. When I asked him about it he started yelling at me. When I told him I didn't appreciate being yelled at he said he was thanking me so he could fix the error with his team ... unusual way of thanking a customer if you ask me. I will never do business with this company again. Craig - before you write another defensive response, look in the mirror. Dozens of people have commented here that you are rude and unprofessional. At some point you have to change your behavior instead of giving excuses. read more

These guys were supposed to show up at 8 am. They were over two hours late with no viable excuse. No call, email, nothing. No answer on their phone or email. They told me they tried to call but didn't have my number. Had they checked their email or voicemail they would've found it. In addition, I'm quite sure I provided it when I reserved them. Once they showed up it took nearly five hours to move my two bedroom townhouse in which all that was left to move was furniture (albeit, some very heavy furniture). There was no sense of urgency to make up any of the time they cost me. Finally, they refused to discount my move at all for my added stress and inconvenience. Just a little too non-chalant about customer service for me. Not to mention their recent strong arming and defensive follow up call. I do not recommend them. read more

I would give Negative Stars if I could! Craig has a real people problem. I gather he doesn't like working weekends or dealing with people who are picky about their antiques or expect him to stick to his word. He damaged my family's antiques and my newly refinished hardwood floors and refused to admit he was responsible or to compensate us! At the outset he promised to use moving blankets to protect both & he did not. He screamed and cursed at me when I called him on it. He was in big hurry to get home & watch Husky football or whatever that he did not care that I would not tip him or his men. About 4 years ago I was looking for someone to help me move a few items from Seattle to Whidbey island, and a friend mentioned TLC MOVERS: I've been Wowed! they are the most down to earth guys you'd ever want to meet, Craig and Mark are awesome; Dealing with Mark on the phone I pictured this biker guy, and I tell you, he's a teddy bear sweet guy that will do anything for you. In the past 4 years I've moved more times than you care to count, homes, office, shipping from Seattle to Hawaii and they've handled it all THEY ARE THE BEST! They refused to put in an insurance claim for items I said were missing and also refused to compensate me for the loss. I had to find out who their insurer was and put in a claim on my own. TLC Moving showed up on time and we picked them because they gave us the lowest price and said they would ensure our house and furniture would be protected. However, they started taking our furniture out without any protection. When I mentioned that, the owner who was there seemed irritated about it. He said let us do our job and get out of our way. They continued moving several things without protection, and passing some negative comments about us. At that point when I said you should not talk to your customers like that, the owner started yelling at me, threatened that he was going to leave. I said all I was asking you was to shrink wrap a few of our expensive furniture as you promised. He yelled some more, and then asked his guys to unload and leave. They started smiling and laughing at me saying now let's see how good a day you are going to have, not having movers! I begged them not to do this, and they said go to hell. They did put all the stuff back safely. And seemed really happy that they will get a day off. They did not seem care what happened to us. When I mentioned I could report them on Yelp, they said they don't care about a yelp review so here it is. Fortunately I was able to find a very good moving company within an hour, even on a weekend, and with very polite and gentle people, who moved us actually at a comparable price. I was happy that I did not have to bear more insults from TLC. I don't care how efficient someone is at moving; businesses that cannot have minimum standards when they talk to their customers don't deserve our business; there are several movers in Seattle area who are polite AND efficient; I have moved 4 times in the last 7 years. read more

I was ready to pay the bill but wanted to explain to them how badly I was misdirected and they started shouting about payment. I did pay them. I shouldn't have. Working with TLC was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had. Under no circumstance should you use this company. There was a mix up at the apartment that I was moving out of and the elevator door was not locked. I was moving out of a studio apartment and had minimal furniture that had to be moved. Even so, the movers lost it and were completely inflexible with the solutions that my apartment manager offered to help get me moved out in a timely manner. The movers yelled at my apartment manager and myself but since I had no other moving solution I had to go ahead and still use them to move my furniture. In the apartment I moved out of, my furniture and TV was left in the hallway, unattended, for half an hour. During the move, two furniture pieces got dings and a piece of my bed is rickety from how it was reassembled. Do not use! read more

I called TLC for an emergency last minute move of a 3 bedroom townhouse that I had evicted a tenant from. Craig showed up with one guy and they did a really, really great job. All the items were well taken care of, wrapped in blankets where appropriate and they even brought boxes to pack up and secure items. Just because this was an eviction move, didn't mean they were less caring in the move of the belongings. Craig took the time to individually wrap all the dinner and glassware and box it up so that nothing was broken. Keep in mind nothing in this move was packed up when they arrived and they did an amazing job making a bad situation much more tolerable for me. I would hire them again but hopefully not because I have to evict someone. read more
