I just adopted the cutest little 8-week-old puppy from TLC, and let me tell you, it was love at first sight. Lynne helped facilitate the meet and greet, and when I actually got to hold him, the love grew even more. Lynn told me he was a kisser and cuddler, which I love about him. They did a great job of making sure he received all the cuddles and love that he needed, and I am able to continue that. He is a very happy puppy and a great addition to my family. This rescue really loves their rescues! I adopted a cutie pie Chorky from them. She is very healthy, well fed, and up to date on all shots and any meds needed for pups. Michele was just wonderful, very pleasant, and gave me a lot of helpful information about the breed. She makes very sure you will be a great match before she will let you adopt. I hate that other people put in bad reviews when they are denied a dog. Mlchele always answers the phone nicely. This is an amazing organization that gives puppies and dogs a second chance at being loved and living a good, happy life. I found out about this organization when we went to see some puppies at Pet Smart one Saturday. There were a bunch of puppies in different pens wagging their tales and hoping to be taken to their new home. The woman who was there with the puppies said there were more dogs and puppies available, and to go on the website- I got the business card and later visited the website. There sure were more puppies and dogs that needed homes. (you can click on the picture to learn more about the dog) I also learned that the organization was in need of foster parents or any donations. Thought we would help by fostering an animal.. I filled out the paperwork which was online and received a call the next day... The organization just rescued some puppies and they had a sick German Shepherd mix that needed to be taken care of until she could be adopted. (she could not be with other dogs) I met Michele, one of the angels of TLC with Pups at Pet smart. She is such a dear and loves these little puppies with all her heart! Since we did not have a crate or food at the moment, she lent a crate, water container and gave us a huge bag of food for her. I was also given 2 different medications and directions the new puppy would need. After fostering her for a couple of days, we fell in love with her and we ended up adopting her!! The adoption was $175.00 which included some vaccines and a voucher for her spay. I can't tell you how much love this little puppy has added to our life! If you're looking for a new furry friend, please consider getting him/her from this rescue organization! I found the cutest puppy on my Petfinder app. The app linked me to TLC with P.U.P.S website and the page for the puppy I liked. I found that TLC was going to be at my local Petco. I called them to make sure that my little Coda would be there too. The person who answered was friendly and let me know that she would be there. I went down there, met Coda and adopted her. I did get a voucher for her to get spayed. I didn't have any issues with the adoption or any thing else. The process was fairly easy. read more

We got both of our beautiful little Shih Tzus from Michele by donating $450 for each dog. The first one (the one on the right) we got in 2015 and she was about 11 weeks old. The second one we got in 2016 and he was about 8 weeks old. If bought from a breeder, our dogs would've costed around $1,500-$3,500 each. So this was a good deal for us. The rescue also provided vouchers for spaying/neutering our dogs. We used their website and had to fill out multiple forms but it was understandable since they really want to ensure that the owners can provide for the puppies. All in all, our experience was great and would get more puppies from this place in the future. read more

We were pressured to adopt one of their puppies after spending 15 minutes with the dog. We were not sure, but Michelle used the "car salesmen" tactic saying if we didn't adopt him right now they were moving onto the next person. So we did and it was not the right fit and needed to return the dog 2 days later. Of course, no refund. Avoid this rescue, we are clearly not the only people who have had issues with them. read more

I was looking for two dogs I saw on petfinder and called to aSk if they were still available because I got no responses to any of my emails and the first time I called the lady picked up yellin "what do you want!" And I was astounded at how rude someone can be in one interaction. I made sure that I had the right number and asked if this was them and she yelled "yes why are you calling!" And at this point I was so done but I asked if they had the dog from petfinder and she said "No they'd been adopted for 3 months!". I was unhappy with the lack of email response and bad customer service and effort. If the dog had been adopted then the profile should have been taken down. What a great group to deal with! Once I found the puppy on Petfinder, and completed the application, I texted Michelle to see if the selected puppy was still available. She responded quickly, and got back to me at each step of the way very quickly. I ended up adopting a sister to the puppy I had originally seen. The delivery process was as easy and professional. The foster mom, Lydia, met us at Petco, all the papers were signed, and a detailed history of my puppy was given to us. Lydia answered all of our questions. I got my dog from them when he was suppose to be 8 weeks old but I think he was younger than that. When I questioned Michelle about his age she called me up, asked me who I was, said she didn't know me and she didn't adopt my dog out to me. I told her my mom initially filled out paperwork at Petco. She literally made a complete 360 and threatened to take my dog away from me because I questioned his age. Then she acted like he was in danger and wouldn't be taken care of. She literally acted like a crazy, psychotic B*TCH! She got so defensive when I asked about his age. I'm not sure what kinda game they're running here. I saw a few dogs online on Pet Finder, was super excited to get a puppy for our family. Their adoption prices seemed all over the place but long story short I let them know we wanted a small dog, toy sized preferably, and I have two kids so he's gotta be friendly. They recommended a dog to me, we met him, and they charged me $450 for all this sh*t (also keep in mind I'm paying for the neutering and vaccines myself since driving to their vet was too far for me). Basically they charged me for a toy sized dog told me he was gonna be small and GUESS WHAT. He's big and getting bigger every day. 12+ pounds so we're passed the toy size at this point. He's a nice dog he just needs some training. I'm super pissed I spent so much I definitely could've found a toy size dog somewhere else. They made me sign all these papers for who knows why and then never follow up about anything. Just ridiculous do more research than I did and go somewhere else. Their sob story about saving dogs is just a cover up they're just trying to make a buck like every one else. read more

I am very disappointed with TLC. I adopted a dog 1week ago today. I followed their guidelines and answered all their questions. I took her to the vet to have her records ready for visits and to introduce her to the office and low and behold she was not chipped. So I did the right thing on the spot. Two days later I took her to Petsmart to have her groomed since she was stinky and she still smelled the same after all of that. Today I picked her up from the vets after having 9 teeth extracted because of her teeth not taken care of. The dog is 5 years old. How long had this girl suffered, because they don't get like this in one week. read more

She actually hung up on me, told me that the puppy wouldn't be adopted to families with kids or older people because they could have stroke and leave the dog homeless! I wasnt going to write a review but I'm beyond irritated with this agency. The communication with them is awful. We were promised when we adopt the pup for $400 it includes the neutering. You dont receive anything in writting for this. Just their word. Once I adopted the puppy it got worse with communication. I have so much proof on how many times I have reached out to Michelle to get our puppy fixed. It takes her two days to respond. I have contacted Petco and adopt a pet.com to let them know this. I think it's very unprofessional of her to not respond. I have sent her two texted messages within the last day and of course, no response. I'm sure she's busy but we all are. I adopted a pup from Jessica and michelle 3 days ago and I have to say what a GREAT job they did w/this dog! The puppy is healthy (per my own vet) NO WORMS(fecal negative at my vet) and is happy and smart and adjusting well to my home and family. Tried calling them on the phone after writing to them and never getting a reply. The lady I talked to was so rude to me as soon as she answered and I could barely get a word out edge wise since the second she answered the phone she was so rude. No one should be treated this way when they are trying to help and rescue a puppy. Adopt from people who are nice and treat their animals with the same respect. The lady I meet didnt let me adopt a dog it was a hyper dog and she said if I adopted it she was setting it up for failure because she wanted me to keep a hyper dog in side like what!? She said she's adopted great Danes to people and they kept them inside well of course because there no very energetic and she went as far to say every dog breed should be inside. I regret not reading up on them prior it purchasing my first set of puppies. I adopted two, I was told they were chihuahua mixes, and would only be about 20 lbs. well the days went by and these chihuahua mixes turned out to be pit mixes! There faces gained their shape and they're bodies did as well. I am formed Michele that I cannot have pets as I am a renter and she was so rude and went off on me for about 15 minutes saying they were not pit bulls. Once I said she needed to calm down and not be so rude she said she had health problems and that's what was making her rude. A week later we switch the dogs out and now I have two small dogs that will most likely be beagle Chihuahua mixes which yes is more of what I was wanting. When I got them home I saw a text on one of them and again text Michele and she flipped out on me called me repeatedly and was texting me "I want them back", "give them to me" "I want them back" pretty much harassing me saying that I am the unfit person to take care of pets. Also when they had explained they would switch me out for two other puppies that these puppies were $200 more than the other puppies putting me paying $800 instead of the $600 I've already paid. When I got to Petco the one in Riverside off trautwein to exchange the puppies Jessica, said she was not going to charge anymore. Jessica- is very easy to work with and unfortunately she works with Michele. At this point my speculation is these are not dogs that are adopted from shelters I think they are breeding them and then claiming that their adoption dogs because I've never paid so much for dogs to be adopted ever. To anyone who wants a dog save up the money and go to a breeder and or just go to the VCA yourself and don't trust this group of people, I can't call them a company because they're not. I also have been questioning if I should go to legal as well. I have complain to Petco and will continue to pursue that so they stop allowing them to be adopted through Petco. read more

Today, 11-23-13, I brought the puppies back to Michelle at the pet store. The puppies did not want to go in the store with the other dogs and people. (They had been spending all of their time in our home and with our family. The few times I had taken them out on walks and to the dog park, they seemed skittish and uncomfortable - I didn't want to force them to go where they did not want to go. That would be cruel.) When I stood before Michelle, she did not recognize me at first. I stated that I was returning the dogs to her. She came over and looked at the dogs; immediately she started saying statements to imply their mis-care. (We have done nothing but feed, hold, and care for them. If anything, we sheltered them too much.) I said that they were scared of the new people, dogs, and smells of the store. I asked her one more time if she would give me a refund. She said no and mentioned the contract (which lists the bread I desired). She then asked for the shots and spay/neuter records. I said that I'd be happy to get her a copy but that I was retaining the documents for my records. She said that she would like to take the dogs and me outside for a talk. I said, "No thank you," and that I wanted "the dogs to stay inside because they were in her charge now" (Truly, I did not want to speak with her since I had heard enough of her degradations in the past.). Then I kindly said that I would see her in court and walked out the door. As I walked to my car, she came out of the pet shop yelling at me, "You abused those dogs. They were wonderful when you got them and now they're not. B****." Once again, I was being berated by her. A nice elderly lady was walking out of the store and heard the whole thing. I said nothing to Michelle but spoke with the pet store customer. She said that "she" was speaking very meanly and therefore would be happy to sign a document stating what she heard. On a side note, the pet store staff has been amazingly kind, understanding, sympathetic, and apologetic and that is why their name will remain out of this review. I have written another review about their excellent staff. That store's reputation should not be tarnished because of TLC with Pup's behavior. The store is taking appropriate action. read more
