Another review this time for my husky, Moose. Moose had grand mal seizure on Sunday night that lasted about 2 minutes. It scared the crap out of me since he's never had a seizure before. My family had to take him in as I had to run to the human ER due to him biting me and breaking my wrist during the seizure. Despite not being there in person, VEG kept me updated and let my family stay with him. They were very understanding on why I wasn't there for my Moose. They kept him overnight for observation and gave me a dose of emergency meds for Moose incase he has another seizure. This place is amazing and I'm so thankful for them.

I can't say enough about the care we received at this emergency vet. When my almost 3-year-old fur baby, Tobi, swallowed what looked like a crocheted sock on our walk, I was beyond scared. I couldn't find any emergency vets nearby in Chino Hills, but I was so fortunate to find this place. From the very first call, they treated me and Tobi like family. I was able to be right there with him every step of the way. No separation, just inclusion. They let me witness everything, from inducing vomiting to the X-rays, and they were so confident and calm, which helped me stay calm too. Ultimately the object was too big and needed an endoscopy with claw thing to remove which had me SHAKINGGG. They explained every single step, even when I didn't fully understand, and I felt so included, like we were part of their family. They were not just attentive to Tobi, but also to me, meeting both our needs and keeping me as calm as possible. Thank you to everyone--Bri, Elle, Sebastian, and Dr. Wickham, you made us feel so seen and loved. If you're looking for a vet who treats your pet and you like family, this is the place. Thank you all so much! I can't thank you guys enough

We lost our beautiful Camila. Sadly she needed surgery and no matter how many times I calculated the numbers. This time we could no cover her surgery. I've lost people in life and I learn over time to take a lost well but this time is was different & very hard. I quickly got JLo her niece car insurance. I cannot go through this again From the start a young lady by the name of Bri made everything just a little better for us & Dr Ortiz. I also want to thank the staff for the lovely card they sent us. Little things like that really mean the world to us!

Had to come to VEG to get my dog's sutures restitched. She scratched a (healed) incision site a little too zealously and popped the wound right back open, and although my regular vet would have fixed her back up, driving to Corona on a Friday night wasn't my idea of a good time. All that in mind, my regular vet was able to send my dog's records to VEG so that everyone knew the important details. The staff here from the doctors to the technicians and the receptionist were all very kind and helpful, which is very much appreciated when needing emergency medical attention for a furry family member. The techs did the initial check of my dog while the doctor read her records. A course of treatment was agreed upon and then we waited. I discovered that a pet ER is not much different from a people ER in that there's an inevitable wait...a long one! We came in at 5:30 and didn't come home with our girl until 10:30 :/ As you would imagine, emergency veterinary services aren't cheap. But they do give you an itemized breakdown with recommended procedures and medications for your review and approval. All in all, tho, the whole experience (minus the 5 hour wait) was good. The staff not only was friendly and helpful to us, but just as importantly, they were kind and caring to my dog. I hope I won't need emergency veterinary services for my pets again, but IF I ever do, I'd feel comfortable coming back here.

This place is great if your pet was in a real emergency. They have state of the art equipment, do everything out in the open and consult you before every move (but not give you results before upselling you for the next test) If you have something wrong with your animal and it does not seem too urgent I would wait to see your own vet. Just to walk in and be seen cost $200. Then they tacked on another $345 for tests that were negative. Nothing was wrong with the puppy we brought in. They came back in and wanted to do more random testing but after they showed their process I was no longer interested. They would ask for further testing before giving you results of the last test. Then after they start the new testing give you a negative result of your old test. We were in a private room. If you want peace of mind for your pet, have unlimited amounts of money and time then come in. As for me, I' will chalk this up as a lesson learned. The place looked nice and shiny so you will be paying for aesthetics too. Hope your animal feels better.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion the entire team showed us to help us during an emergency with our hamster! We noticed our hamster severely struggling to breathe, eat, and drink after having a reaction to Ivermectin that had been prescribed by another vet clinic. We rushed him to VEG, and the team immediately stepped in to help stabilize him and figure out what was going on. After receiving oxygen treatment and a care plan for an Upper Respiratory Infection, they sent us home with medication and supplemental food to help syringe-feed him. Even though he was just a hamster, he was me and my fiancé's first pet, and the staff truly treated him with kindness and respect. Dr. Stephanie was especially amazing (she told us she owned hamsters in the past) and she took the time to show us how to safely pick him up and feed him so we felt comfortable caring for him at home. She also answered all of our questions thoroughly and was transparent about the high risk of complications given his elderly age (2.5 years old). Over the next few days, we did see improvement. He started eating and drinking again, was breathing better, and even climbing around. He responded really well to the medication and supplemental food. Unfortunately, he relapsed a few days later and passed away in our arms at home, which we were told was a high possibility given how elderly he was. Nonetheless, we were so happy to have those last few 'healthy' days with him spending time with him. To us, that extra time with him was priceless, and that was all thanks to the quick care and professionalism by the VEG team. We took him back to VEG where Brittany helped guide us through the aftercare options with so much compassion. We live in an apartment so we honestly didn't know what options we had. We were given a quiet room to grieve and take our time deciding what felt right for us. We chose a private cremation and were really appreciative of how smooth and thoughtful the process was. About a week later, we received his ashes and paw prints. This was our first pet together so and we are so thankful for the warmth, empathy, and care VEG showed us and our tiny little guy every step of the way. We truly felt supported during one of the hardest experiences, and we couldn't recommend them enough.

The team was amazing throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond our expectations. We brought in Charizard our crested gecko who had a hemipenis prolapse. Most people would think it's just a lizard but their compassion and process was one of a kind and something my partner and I have never experienced before. Allowing us to be with him the entire time, having an open layout that allows for all pet parents to be there through out every moment and even offering us a bed to stay and get some rest while our little guy recovered. My partner and I were considering euthanizing due to the cost of the procedure. (In our experience with other vets if we could not afford the procedure we were forced to either surrender or euthanize). We were just heart broken with this through. But the team comforted us through every decision and truly helped us financially to save our little guy by dramatically reducing the cost and relieving that burden. A huge shout out to Dayna who answered my call and comforted us throughout the entire process. To Jess and Dr.Rivera who took amazing care of Charizard. They both were so compassionate and helped us out with our decisions. Giving us options and how to best support him and truly went beyond by helping us by reducing the financial burden. This team is truly amazing during this difficult time. We will forever be grateful and will definitely be coming back for any emergency, and telling our friends and families about VEG ER for Pets! Thank you guys again for everything!

My two-year-old cat a ginger princess seemed to be losing weight and acting ill, so I brought her in to be evaluated. They did x-rays and bloodwork, and after the x-rays I was told they thought they saw a mass and that it looked like cancer. I was told she would likely die soon. I was absolutely devastated. I left late at night crying with my son, truly believing we were about to lose her. I was even close to making the decision to put her down because I couldn't emotionally or financially handle what I was being told at that moment. They did suggest I go to Pasadena for an ultrasound and biopsy to confirm, so I woke up at 4 AM and drove her there. The testing took all day and was incredibly stressful. In the end, I was told there was no cancer. It turned out to be her organ positioning stacked on one another on the x-ray and some fluid that was biopsied but came back negative. A year later, my cat is now three years old and completely healthy. In total, I spent around $4,000 going through this process, along with a tremendous amount of emotional distress that I will never forget. I understand imaging can sometimes be difficult to interpret, but I wish the initial findings had been communicated that the xray cannot be clear showing what is there because the vet told me he was certain it was a mass and she would not live much longer. I guess she had a stomach ache. She was hydrated and given an appetite stimulant and-is well. I would be more than happy to give more stars because the staff did seem caring and compassionate, but this experience was extremely traumatic and financially draining for my family as a single mom. Within a few days of her coming home my son's stress was so high he had a collapsed lung at the age of 25. It was a rough time for us.

This place was so kind. We had a dental situation for our little guy. We brought him around 10:30pm. They let us know that they didn't feel comfortable extracting the tooth that was really bothering him, causing him to gauge his face and eyes with his paws. So she offered us other help by giving him some pain medication and medication for the infection that was taking over his mouth. They were all very patient and sweet. Good seeing Briana! She was so sweet to our dog and added some humor to our stressful night. Thank you to everyone working there that night!

This was my very first visit to Anaheim VEG ER. I ended up here out of sheer desperation since no other 24/7 emergency vet could see my very sick cockatiel. Little did I know that I would end up having an extremely sad but the most incredible experience. Let me start off by stating that this location is very close to the freeway in a very well lit outdoor corner mall with plenty of parking. The frontage of the this 24/7 animal emergency care is in a great safe location, very secure and has a safety process in place. As soon as you walk in you get the open concept vibe which is definitely not your typical doctor's office floor-plan. There are however, a couple private rooms for a variety of scenarios such as safety, privacy and/or isolation just to name a few. This 24/7 vet sees EVERY kind of animal that can fit through there front door! Fur, feather and reptile just to name a few. I have to give the founders absolute props for pioneering this new comforting and successful concept! All the staff I came in contact with was genuinely phenomenal: Dr Yang Bri Willie Claudia Carolina Celia Moses I can honestly say that each and every one of them were genuinely compassionate and caring. Always checking on me to make sure we were OK and offering food, drinks, or any other items of comfort. I seriously can go on and on about my positive experience despite the outcome. I am truly grateful to this team for helping an emotional experience comforting. Seriously..... thank you all SO SO much

I walked in there crying with my pup & left happy, so thank you

I took my baby boy here again today. They're the one place I trust for emergencies. Dr. Fawley was so kind & gentle with my pup, she eased all my fears & concerns too. Of course no one likes going to the emergency room, but knowing my pup would be in the best hands with Dr. Fawley and the staff who helped, I don't mind the drive. I wish she could be my pups primary doctor but I know this is an ER hospital. Thank you so much for all your help! You helped my pup & me more than you know! Thank you for making it such a welcoming environment especially during such a stressful time. if you the the crème de la crème, this place is it! I walked in there a mess, but walked out feeling so thankful & blessed that i'm writing a review at 2am because I left feeling like a pocketful of sunshine, idc if that's cheesy, you guys helped me and my pup so much thank you!!!

my ten year old lovebird shiva was cared for in her last moments of life so well by the staff here. they are exceptionally compassionate and work w/ you in regards to payment plans & the likes thereof. i walked in with my little one tucked into my hoodie. it was the hardest thing ive ever had to do; but this emergency group is one of the loveliest. i got a wonderful condolence card as well in the mail. thank you for taking care of my little one

This was my second visit to VEG, unfortunately. But let me tell you, in the event of an emergency or if it's after hours - this is the place to go!!! The staff is so incredibly kind which is so refreshing given they have such a hard job. The hospital is open concept, so you get to stay with your pet the entire time. Which is such a relief to both owner and pet. Special shout out to Stephanie who helped us tonight. She was kind, compassionate, helpful and knowledgeable.

Bills doesn't shows how much medications they will provide. Best pay after everything.

October, our healthy 17 1/2 year old chihuahua/dachshund mix recently passed away on April 5, 2025. Leading up to those days, he had apparently suffered a stroke which put him in a coma starting on March 30th. We were initially going to let him pass in his sleep after finding out that dogs can go on average 2 days without food or 3 days without water. The days went by and once it hit the 6th day, I discussed with my mom that I think it's time to take him to the vet for a possible euthanasia to which she agreed. I called ahead of time on Saturday morning and the receptionist told us to come in when we can and we will get helped right away since it's an emergency. Once we got to the hospital, we were helped right away and they took our boy in beforehand to get tests done. After sitting in a room and filling out new patient paperwork, we were greeted by Dr. Sharon Hong. Dr. Hong was very professional and also comforted us in every way possible to make this experience the easiest for us. She did start by saying October's quality of life is unfortunately declining if we decided to move forward and get help but we made up our mind which was the best option at the time. We were given an option to be present or not for the process to which we opted to be present for. The euthanasia process was very straight forward so October can go as pain-free as possible. Dr. Hong gave us all the time to say our goodbyes and offered her condolences. The euthanasia process costed around $350 which wasn't bad at all. Paid an extra $150 or so for the cremation + paw print bundle which was ready to be picked up in a week. A few days after that, we received a handwritten card from the hospital expressing their condolences for our boy Octobie which was a very nice final touch. I 100% recommend VCA Yorba Regional Animal Hospital. Every single person we interacted with was very pleasant to be around. Very special thanks to Dr. Hong; you are amazing! Thank you to everyone for the most pleasant experience during these hard times. It is also the cleanest, most spotless waiting area I've ever seen. Also, there's plenty of parking available in a private lot.

And we are eternally grateful for that! Thank you for giving your best for our girl. For trying your best to save her. For making her as comfortable as possible. And for letting her feel so loved and allowing us to be with her and love her until the end. Best regards, Mike and Alyssa Miller

When our dog Cheyenne faced an unexpected medical emergency, we found ourselves terrified,…read moreoverwhelmed, and desperate for answers. From the moment we met Dr. Ha, Dr You and the team, we knew we were in the right hands. What sets this practice apart is the rare combination of exceptional medical expertise and genuine compassion. Dr. You took the time to explain everything clearly, answer our questions, and help us navigate an incredibly emotional situation with confidence and trust. Just as importantly, every member of the team treated both Cheyenne and our family with kindness, empathy, and respect. My wife Jenna and I own a business ourselves, so we understand how difficult it is to build a truly outstanding team. Dr. You has done exactly that. Over a very stressful 12 hours, we experienced not only a high level of professional skill, but also a level of care and concern that made us feel supported every step of the way. We are deeply grateful for everything Dr. You and his team have done for Cheyenne. They cared not only for our dog, but for us as well. In a world where compassion can sometimes feel rare, this team delivers it every day. Thank you, Dr. You and team. We will never forget your kindness. Tony & Jenna

My pet cat had an onset of severe allergies. His standard vet without really hearing our concerns…read moresaid probably fleas because of the area we're in. Before bringing in the pet I looked up what could be causing the symptoms - I've had dogs before with flea outbreak so I know what flea eggs look like. I decided to try out dr woods to see if he he'd have other alternatives routes we could take and the risks; he listened and reasoned through some of the literature I found (I thought it could be allergies to a kibble we switched the cat to). He also explained that even though you don't visibly see flea eggs- pets could be allergic to a flea bite (which doesn't manifest into a flea outbreak). Their time estimation for lab results and medicine was truly quick. We were very impressed. The parking lot is big but the street is very busy during peak times.

I had called earlier to ask questions before making an appointment and they were really good about calling my back right away. Intake was quick and easy. They had paperwork I missed filling up before the appointment but it is short and completed in no time. The reception folks were super nice and chill -I had tried to go to a big name hospital vet last month and did not appreciate the attitude the front desk people gave. After intake, they weighed my dog and got us a room. We also didn't have to wait long to see the Dr. He was really calm which I liked as my dog is fearful reactive. Also, he was good about not pushing treatments for my boy that I did not feel comfortable about. I appreciate that reception also emailed an itemized copy of my receipt at end of day. The other clinic I had to call a week later to remind them to send it Service was great, I liked the people. Inside the clinic was cute and welcoming. It did smell like pee in the waiting room but it probably just happened before our appointment. I asked for training resources and and they gave me a card of a local trainer. A good amount of parking in the shared lot. All in all pleased with visit and service. Thank you Dr. Woods and epic front desk team.

When we came back, he was vomiting and having diarrhea for 2 days so I took him to my regular vet and she told me to take him to the ER immediately bc he was severely dehydrated. I arrived here asap to admit my dog and see what's wrong. For the total price of $6251.15, we had 2 overnight stays with a diagnosis of Gastroenteritis and urinary bladder stones with elevated kidney lab values. The drs made it sound like Chase was going to die if he didn't get surgery within the next few seconds. She made it sound extremely urgent. Mind you, he never had any issues peeing prior to this so it was big news to me. She said he has a partial urinary blockage due to the bladder stones in his urethra but he was still peeing. The drs recommendations were to keep him to monitor him overnight and push for urinary catheter and surgery. I didn't agree to urinary catheter or surgery bc I didn't want to do anything invasive to him. They ended up doing the urinary catheter to try and push the stones back in however, they were unsuccessful and couldn't even put the catheter in bc they didn't have a needle small enough so it didn't fit thru his penile bone? So basically they tried and failed but I was still charged for it. Then they continued to push for surgery. Meanwhile all they did was give him anti-nausea meds and IV the whole time he was in there. I was all over the place like okay what should I do? He's my baby and I want the absolute best for him. I decided to finally just take him out the hospital and let him rest at home while finding another location for a second opinion. When I picked him up, poor baby peed like a racehorse for abt 2 mins straight. I have never in my life seen him pee this much and he is 6 years old! They must've kept him in there and not release him for potty breaks/walks the whole time. Vets and hospitals are expensive but this was unbelievable. A money hungry spot and way overpriced. I can't believe they charged 6k for nothing but meds to go home with. Never again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience…read more While the veterinarian appeared knowledgeable and competent, the overall experience was disappointing because of the lack of compassion, communication, and customer service. From the moment I arrived, my dog was taken to the back without anyone asking me to explain what was wrong or allowing me to be part of the initial assessment. My dog remained in the back for about an hour and a half before anyone spoke with me. I was eventually brought into an exam room--without my dog-and presented with a treatment plan and an estimate. As a pet owner, I expected to be involved much sooner and to have someone take the time to listen before making recommendations. I spent nearly five hours at the clinic, yet very little of that time involved communication or updates. Most of it was simply waiting, wondering what was happening with my dog. The payment policy was equally frustrating. You're given a low-end and high-end estimate, but you're required to pay the highest amount up front before any treatment is provided. When the original services aren't all used, it feels like other charges are added to bring the total closer to what you've already paid. Whether that's the intent or not, it leaves the impression that the estimate is structured to ensure customers pay the highest amount possible. The one bright spot was one veterinary technician who was kind, gentle, and genuinely caring with the animals. She showed the empathy and compassion that I wish had been reflected throughout the entire clinic. I also noticed that many negative reviews receive the same generic response asking customers to call the office. Respectfully, this experience wasn't the result of a simple misunderstanding-it reflected the overall way the clinic operates. I won't be returning unless I have absolutely no other choice. Veterinary care should combine medical expertise with compassion, communication, and respect for both pets and their owners. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

The next morning, we met with Dr. Shoup, a neurologist, who provided excellent care for my pet. She started her treatment early in the morning and worked tirelessly until 1 AM, maintaining her energy and showing real compassion for my pet. I understand some of the concerns regarding costs, but the level of care I received for my baby was absolutely worth it. The follow-up care has been more affordable, and I appreciate that they continue to answer my calls and provide support. Overall, I feel fortunate to have found BrightCare Animal Hospital and would give five stars to Dr. Shoup for her dedication and expertise.
