Overpriced & dishonest service for me, I can just speak on my behalf based on my experience. For a front brake Anthony quoted me $375, Toyota Lexus Auto Service of Campbell's price is just $288; while I called and emailed Lexus Service, their price is just $339 because they have $60 off coupon and price match for any Lexus service everywhere in the Bay Area, other branches have $50 off, others $25 off but then again, they match their prices throughout the Bay, and comes with free car wash, snacks, and peace of mind. Anthony is more expensive than Lexus! Anthony also told me my brake pads are 40%. I was asking how many millimeters is that, wow, he has no answer how many millimeters he is talking about did he even measure my brakes? He thinks I am dumb because I inquire a lot. Of course, I have to know what is happening to my car and why. He told me my front brakes squeak, that's because when I parked at his shop; I moved my car with my parking brakes on, he heard the squeak, thereafter, he says it's time to change it. Anthony, you have to visually show people their brake pads while the tires are out when performing rotation to show them why it is time to replace. You just don't tell them, and expect them to believe you. Google and the web has all the information about how many percent must a brake pad have before replacing it, what is your 40%? How much millimeter or metric measurement is that? He told me my radiator is leaking, I was asking where the leak is in my car, instead he pointed at a radiator in his shop, does not even want to show where in my car is the problem. Lexus always shows me visually where my car's problem is and even send to me actual photo of the part to replace and identifies where the problem is, then warranties it. Anthony, he just tell you there is a leak, but won't show you where it is in your car. Lexus has a coupon sale every now and then their basic maintenance service is now $59.00 for change oil with free car wash, snacks, whatever. With TLS it is $77 for basic not fully synthetic oil. TLS comes with free tire rotation, Lexus $59 does not come with that but hey, if you bought your tires at Costco they would rotate your tires for free, as well as other reputable tire stores do that for free. I stayed at TLS shop for half day, watching how they handle people's car when they are not watching. Wow, they drive the car with the hood up from the parking lot to their shop. Where is the safety issue here? Then they backed out a car they serviced and it hit a big tire that was blocking their driveway which rolled from their neighbor's shop. Where is the care for other people's car when they are not watching? TLS doesn't care when you are not watching. And Anthony is rude, the whole time I was asking him questions or inquired from him, and he seems to get easily irritated. He has no courtesy, and does not even give warmth, but he is awkwardly scorful whenever he has to answer any of my question. He smiled once when I paid with a smirk. Probably he is really having a bad day. Now my long time car which has no issue, after seeing Anthony now has almost $2000 worth of issues. Good to know some other service centers are honest, & I was able to inquire from them. But with TLS how can I trust this shop if Anthony does not even show me my car's issues, visually pointing them out to me, or providing me measurements and showing me how my brake pads look like, how can I believe that the service I'm getting is trustworthy, believable, and true. I have been a car owner for more than 30 years, and each time I go to a mechanic, they show to me my car's actual problems, always accommodating, but Anthony lacks all of this traits when he serviced my car. read more

DAN IS AMAZING!!!! I live in a small town in northern California and my choices in auto care are rather limited so when I was visiting my parents in the bay area my 2002 Toyota Tacoma was making some wonderful sounds. Took my truck to wheel works right next door to Dan and they told me I need a new transmission. Great. Said they couldn't do it themselves but sent it to TLS. Here comes the miracle worker. Dan contacted me within the hour of getting my vehicle and told me exactly what was going on. (even put it in non mechanical lingo that I could understand) I told him to go ahead and order the parts and fix it. Called me later in the day and said my truck did not in fact need a new transmission but he tweaked it and it work and shifted perfectly. First savings of about 3,000 dollars. He then did a whole look through of under my hood and said that I was leaking oil and coolant. Come to find out the people I have been taking my truck to didn't install my water pump correctly nor but the correct one in. geez After he did a whole examination he had a list and asked me to come down and go over it. Not only did we go over the list item by item (including price) he then showed me on my vehicle what he was talking about. Really appreciated him actually showing me too, because I see that it actually needs it. Bottom line I got every thing cleaned, replaced or fixed that needed it (including water pump, belts, timing belt just to name a few) and to make things better he uses all factory Toyota parts. Not some knock off pieces of junk that's gonna break in a year. He also doesn't have coupons or "deals" for certain days, he just knocks off some labor charges here and there or discounts parts to his cost. Basically saving probably 1500 bucks on what my vehicle needed. About three weeks later I almost rolled my vehicle sliding on black ice and my truck was making a thunking sounds whenever I braked so I made the 300 mile drive down to the bay and just walked in and talked to his mechanics. Dan was out but what impressed me was the gentleman I talked to (wish I remember his name) walked out and had me show him what was going on and he knew my name and remembered working on my truck about a month earlier. Impressive. Dan worked on it in a timely manner and even sent me pictures of what happened. Basically my brake line broke. Fixed it and now my truck runs and drives like a dream. I cant stress enough how wonderful Dan is and honest. A rarity in the auto business for sure!!! read more

First time yelping... it has to impress me with 3/3 good things to WOWW me. I don't like to write reviews, but for Dan I would take 10 minutes of my time. 1. Customer service was I have to say "EXCELLENTTTTT!!" since there's only one man operating. I called to the shop to get help with a few questions on my Tacoma 4x4 transfer case problems. Dan answered all of them very thoroughly and more than I actually needed to know about the system. Reading the book was great, but with Dan's explanations it is a whole lot better I have to admit!! At the shop, I'm standing there seeing the guy multi-tasks with his work like an army in action. Expected this to be 6 out of 10, but I received 13 out of 10 from Dan. 2. Find the shop veeerrryyyyy clean and Dan is very picky to keep it clean (the shop is more organized than my living room!!!!). He toured me around because I was very curious and had not seen one this clean. I have been through a few dealerships and independent shops, but never experienced one like this one. Find excellent and professional equipments installed at the shop to be an independent. Since well prepared and well setup...he deserves my AAAAA++++++.........!!! 3. I have visited three shops to get my 4x4 actuator motor looks at for an intermittently engagement problem. All three shops said to replace the transfer motor and recheck for operation ($1800 repairs). Just this time, I decided to make one more call to TLS AUTO SERVICE (next to wheel works) to get one last opinion before doing the repair with one of the shop. Dropped off the truck at 10am and around 1pm Dan had called me back that he found some corrosion in the switch connector pins causing poor continuity and voltage drops. Dan highly recommended me to replace the switch first before doing anything else. Dan showed me the corrosion in the switch that 3 other shops missed and missed diagnosis my truck as well. Dan was nice enough to tell me you can't blame any shops for the misdiagnosis because intermittent problems are the trickiest to fix and repair. And he is honest enough to say no technicians could learn everything and keep up with all of today's technologies. I had a great experience with Dan at TLS AUTO and surely will come back with all of my families' and relatives' car for all future services for sureeeeee!!!!! read more

I saw the name TLS Auto Service shop on craigslist and backpage one day I was searching for a glass guy to repair my cracked winshield. And I never thought that one day (which is 6 days later) at 7.43pm I needed to stop by to get my tire light checks out. Actually, I was heading for Wheel Works on Kiely Blvd on the way home to get it check out as it is within 8 miles of my work place and being stuck in traffic, I didn't make it there in time for them to help me out. I was so worried and frustrated as of course it's late and you don't know when you're going to be on the side of the road!!! I'm so unlucky at the moment that all the shops in the plaza are closed and at the very last last moment, I see a guy coming out of TLS's front door to lock it. I drove up to him to ask if he could help me to check my tires for nails. In my head, I already know the answer he will tell me "it's a 99% NO and we're closed for the day", but instead Dan kindly asked, "how can i help you today?" and i was shocked to hear that!!!! He opened the shop back up and rolled up his shop door to drive my car in to get all four tires check out. Found no nails and tire pressure was just low on all four tires at the moment. He then, opened the hood on my car and I was lost for a minute asking myself "why does checking tires have to have the car's hood open??" Dan not only helped me with the tires pressure check but told me he's also topping off all the fluids in my engine compartment as well and I never knew anything about fluids have to be topped off!!! The whole service took about 20 minutes to be exact and I offered to pay $40 to him for all the trouble, but he did not charge me a dime and said "you have a good night and have a safe trip home!!!!" I bought a 98 tacoma an hour north of san jose and started to make proper adjustments on it and tried to make it safe and right, regardless of that, I was told by Tony of exclusive Mercedes to bring it to TLS, Tony from Mercedes worked on a Mercedes I had and I was Pleased so I took his word on the best mechanics, well I have to tell you that I thought I bought a good truck and did but Dan and Tony not only spotted the issues with it but fixed the needed things first and I was able to bring it back for more needed fixes and they did it all right and professional, They knew I was going to drive back to Louisiana with a 800 pound Harley in the back of the Tacoma and suggested i get a fuel pump when I get back home but it could wait until I got back to Louisiana in which is a 2200 mile trip, well i changed the fuel pump today and they were right, they not only did the work but also changed all the fluids and flushes that you can do on this truck, my steering became like new and it was driving with energy again, wow what a great 2 guys to take control and help you. These guys suggest work that needs doing and dont push it on you, it was a whole lot cheaper than going to toyota, I will stand behind this shop and would suggest anyone to go and get a free qoute, you will be delighted by there nice approach and professional knowledge and service. I was looking for a good independent shop as an alternative to the Lexus dealership to do some routine service/maintenance work on my IS250. A friend mentioned TLS so I looked them up on Yelp. I was impressed by the reviews I read so I decided to give them a try once I had a chance. Then one day my trunk latch would not work. I was in the area of TLS but it was already 5:30pm. I pulled in and asked Dan if he had time for one more problem that day and he said sure! He spent some time adjusting the latch and got it working again. I offered, but he wouldn't let me pay him for his time. I knew then that I wanted to bring my car back for the other service work. I brought my car back the next day and let Dan and his team go to work. Dan and Kevin were great. They explained everything they were doing in as much detail as I wanted. I actually like to watch the mechanic work on my cars so I can see what they doing and ask questions. This is something you cannot do at a dealership. I was very impressed with their work. I can tell that Dan and his team take great pride in their work and go above and beyond for their customers. I met two other long time customers while I was there and they both had nothing but praise for Dan. My Lexus IS350 tire light came on and I pulled in to the 76 gas station located on intersection of Stevens Creek Blvd. and Kiely Blvd. to get air. Put my money in the machine to get air, but the machine is not cooperating. I went inside to ask the guy for help and why the machine didn't turn on after taking my money. The rounded chuppy face middle eastern guy in his late 40's about 5'9" gave me a strange look and responded "maybe it's not working if you don't hear it running....go to the next station!!" Loooong story short, instead of him walking outside to see why the machine is not operating and refund my money. That's what I got for spending my money there!!! I highly recommended no one to get gas here and/or pay them a dime and let them go out of business because we don't need any services like this here in San Jose. I drove over the other side of stevens creek blvd. and find TLS Auto shop first in the corner plaza. I drove up to see if anyone could help and see one guy working on two cars. I expected a 3-4 minutes wait since there was only one guy working and very busy with two cars at the moment. Within 10-15 seconds, I was approached by a tech name Dan to help. He pulled my car closest to the shop and inflated all four tires within a minute. Before I could ask, he's already done and my tire light is OFF. I offer to pay for the great service, but he didn't take or charge me a dime because he said it's FREEEE here and done for you. The other guy at the gas station ruined my day and 10 minutes later, Dan was able to help me forget that idiot that ruined my day!! I own a Toyota Prius and I have been a customer of TLS for the past couple of months, and I am lucky to have found this shop. TLS mechanics have years of experience working at a Toyota dealership, and they know in and out of your car. Every time you bring your car, they repair it with extreme care and dedication. Unlike in a dealership where you cannot really tell who has actually worked on your car, here you know who worked on your car and how proficient they are. TLS never sold me on unnecessary repairs - they perform inspection and recommend only what needs to be addressed now. They use all genuine Toyota parts and the mechanics have even showed me all the parts they are using. TLS shop is also very clean, which I couldn't believe myself that an auto shop to be that clean :-) TLS also documents all the repairs that were done so that you can keep as part of the service record. I trust TLS so much that I don't even need to be there when the repairs are performed. I bought a used Toyota recently and took the car to Dan. When I purchased the car, the seller mentioned it is all serviced with dealer. Dan inspected the car thoroughly, and pointed me few things that need to be changed immediately - especially engine oil flush, break fluids etc. I got the work done and came back after 2/3 hours, and the car is now running extremely smooth, and I could clearly see the difference. I am more relaxed and confident that I have taken good care of the car. For me, the combination of TLS expertise in Toyota & Lexus, dedication, better quality than dealer service, genuine OEM Toyota parts, personal touch and better prices are the perfect combination. TLS AUTO SERVICE is the place for me today and Dan has always been there for the both of us!!! Nobody is PERFECT at what they do in life until I met Dan and his quality service work 8 years ago. My 1999 Lexus GS400 engine was not running right and not smooth at all after a couple attempts to repair the same problem. I spent a couple hundreds here and there to fix it and still the same problem existed from 3-4 different shops. One raining day, I accidentally ran into Dan at Walgreens while he came out of no where to help my wife's Toyota Avalon that didn't want to start and run. He got started for her before I got there and we met ever since!! At first, I let him service my wife's car and 2 days after that, all my lovely wife talked about was how great the car was driving and how smooth it was driving on the roads!! I had to test drive it myself and better yet, I was not believing myself and the car!! Right after that day, I called up Dan to give him my Lexus to help me get rid of that annoying vibrations and told him to keep as long as he needed. 2 days later, Dan returned the Lexus and asked me to go on a test drive with him for 10 miles to confirm the problem is fixed. After 1-2 miles down the road, I already felt the difference on my Lexus and the way it was designed to be...PERFECTIONS!!!! My Lexus mileages then 80,000 and today 230,000. Avalon mileages then 55,000 and today 175,000 and both of us are still loving it today.....so no need for a new car yet! We both told Dan to open his shop 7 years ago to help many others like us and 7 years later, he finally made it happen. I have a 165k miles Lexus SUV. I am glad that I found TLS to service it. I am confident that I can keep it going to forever now : ). Anthony who identified a mysterious check engine light issue which haunted me for a long period of time. Other shops i went to told me this and that, I complied for the services. However, 'check engine' light came back on and off. The recent incidence was that my coolant dropped to super low which caused engine smoked while driving. That was scary ! I kept adding coolant from auto shop, but it dropped low after a couple of days? After a couple of attempts as such, I thought this will be a big costly job to fix. Nope ! I am so grateful to find TLS, Anthony said it's because my Lexus car coolant area sensor detected the non Lexus coolant, couldn't absorb it well, hence, flagged 'check engine' on. All he did was flushed out existing coolant from auto shop, filled it up with Lexus coolant. Ever since then, 'check engine' light does not come up !! This was amazing and such a lesson to learn. Last sat, I went in for oil change due. He stressed the importance of clean fluid and filter to keep car running healthy, didn't push for replacement, but suggested. After replacing them, the car runs a lot smoother. Anthony itemized the service bill in details. I am super happy to find such a trustworthy mechanics. My first time here at TLS AUTO SERVICE shop and I couldn't agree ever with a technician's recommendations until here talking to Dan after my vehicle's multi-point inspections. I was here for 2 reasons: ABS problems that i spent over $2000 to get it fix and still not fixed right. Other reason is my rear hatch window intermittently inop that I also spent over $750 to get the motor replaced and is still not fixed. Dan did a bunch of minor stuffs on my very veryyy big SUV's Sequoia for free and the list is too long to list it here. All done from last couple shops mistake and not from the vehicle's wear and tear!! Dan had explained everything thoroughly and I really appreciated that from him as a technician. He diagnosed my ABS and was able to fix it cheap for $250 instead of $2000 that I spent and it turned out to be not the problem!!!!! At same time, Dan fixed my rear hatch window motor and glass for $150. He explained to me that there's a few adjustments problem on this regulator and motor in the hatch and you have to try this first before replacing any parts to it. It's been over 3 months and it is still working like newwwwww....and I'm starting to love my veryy bigggg baby Sequoia again!!! Bottom line: 1. Customer service 100% 2. Price comparisons to other: 40% cheaper and still get Genuine OEM parts. 3. Return to TLS Auto: 100% 4. Dan keep the shop very clean like my clean organized house!!! 5. The truth of the matter, as vehicle owners, its hard to find a Trustworthy mechanic to rely on doing the very best for your car or truck. Believe me, mechanics can see you coming. As you may know, there is a Lot of competition out there, and making a choice of which mechanic to bring your vehicle to, can be very unsettling. Worry not, Dan, and his staff are top drawer, Certified Master mechanics in Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles. They know their stuff inside, and out. Up front & Honest, their assessment will be accurate, to insure the life of your car or truck, and economical. No stories, convoluted explanations, or b.s. You can approach them with confidence, to insure the life of your vehicle. I own a 2002 Toyota Tundra v8, and have brought my truck to Dan for the past 11 years... it runs like a top ! Like New, you would never think it's 2002 ..This isn't an exaggeration. Just to give you an idea, I grew up working on cars, and trucks, I'm not a mechanic, but, I do have extensive knowledge of the internal combustion engine. I am very particular of my vehicle(s), and vehicles today are greatly advanced. This is where your decision is soo important...!!! TLS Auto Services is a shop that makes a concerted effort to provide their customers with the best possible experience. Each time I've brought my vehicle in for repairs, I have left happy. Not with a lingering feeling of doubt. My last visit was great. Anthony did a great caring job. He not only did the repairs on my car at a GREAT PRICE, he didn't charge me a diagnostic fee, and he also replaced a couple of light bulbs I was unaware of that needed replacing--for free. Even small things like that can be a little expensive, he just did it for customer care. After the job was done, he went over details to get me up to speed on the work he did. Which I thought was really nice, taking time to explain things. He also mentioned some repairs I might need in a couple of months or so. I knew he was being honest because I had been planning on that before I brought the car in. After I left the shop, they sent me a text message asking how the car was doing and if everything was fine and gave additional suggestions for maintenance. I thought that extra bit of checking up on a customer was a really nice touch. I felt like was getting high end treatment from an exotic car dealership. I brought my 85k miles es350 in for an (seem like oil leak) inspection at TLS. Dan and his team inspected the car and thoroughly went through those spots that I concerned. They gave me their expert advice and reassured that my car is fine and doesn't need to fix any thing at this time. They then went further with a multi-points inspection, adjusted the tire's pressure and released my car free of charge. Wow, they won my first impression. I then asked Dan for quotes on a list of maintenance items that the dealer had quoted me earlier. Dan's quotes was pretty reasonable so I decided to make an appointment for transmission, brake, and power steering change/flush. Dan also recommended a fuel injectors clean which I usually skipped when I had the car service at dealer. Again, Dan's quote was very reasonable so I gave it a try and I'm glad that I did. I picked up the car after the service and it felt like driving a different car. The car drives much smoother and "lighter" in every ways. Thanks to Dan and his team at TLS. I'll definitely bring my car back to TLS and recommend friends and relatives for any Lexus/Toyota maintenance or repair services in the future. Finally, thanks to all Yelper's reviews. After reading reviews here and other places, I decided to give Dan a try. I'd been to the dealer across the street and was not that impressed. I do like the idea of getting genuine Toyota replacement parts and that's what Dan supplies. I said on the phone that I thought my alternator in my 2004 Camry was failing due to the noise. He told me about how much it would cost. When I got there, he found that the alternator was fine and that the noise was coming from the water pump. He gave me a labor and parts quote and I left. 3 hours later, he texted me that the work was done. He also gave me $50 off the original labor quote and 10% off the parts. The work was done well and he let me know what scheduled maintenance my car was behind on (I'd not really ever done anything for this car.. Yes. I'm bad.). He also told me what was wrong that I could safely not fix yet. That earned him the 5th star. His service is amazing! As one example...just as I was about to leave, I asked if he could sell me a bottle of brake fluid for another car I have at home. He gave it to me for free, even when I tried to open my wallet to pay for it. I highly recommend and will be back for all maintenance of the 3 Toyota car's I own. I have a 2001 Avalon with ABS and speedometer problems that two dealerships in the area quoted me over $2800 for repairs. One dealer said ABS ecu and engine ECU are at faults and need to be replaced and recheck. The other dealer said my ABS wiring harnesses need to be replaced and recheck with computer ECUs. I trusted the dealerships because thinking they are the best at theirs knowledge on Toyotas. Luckily, I ran into a friend that recommended me to go see Dan at TLS auto service on kiely blvd near wheel works tire center. I took a gamble and went ahead to go see Dan at the shop. He told me this problem is not common on the Avalon models I have, but very common on the later Siennas with bad junctions connector in the wiring harnesses. After a pleasant talk with Dan, i decided to let him diagnose my car one last time to get the final answer. He rechecked all the ecus and harnesses to find out my ABS ecu is at fault only. Had dan replaced with a used one for less than $750 with labor and diagnostic fees. I'M SOOO HAPPY WITH THE REPAIRS AND AM HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL TOYOTA AND LEXUS OWNERS OUT THERE LOOKING FOR A GREAT TOYOTA LEXUS SHOP TO SERVICE YOUR CARS!!
