In a desperate need of a mechanic to fix out 2015 Fit, we were lucky to find this shop. We were met with an amazing welcoming vibe and the work took a lot less than what we were expecting, even though we were told it would have been faster, we knew the special parts would take longer to get a hold off so it was no surprise the car wasn't ready when they said it would be. Nonetheless, our car felt like a brand new car, with over 110k miles on it, it felt like the first day we got it. About a couple of month later we took our 2nd car to get the oil change and to check the Fit before we drove to Colorado, which was a super smooth ride. Slow service, poor communication. I had a check engine light come on for a code from part of the emissions system, so I took it here hoping they could clean the EGR valve and DPF on my foreign diesel. I also asked for some basic routine services. They also told me that I needed an engine mount so I said go ahead and do it. Another mechanic doesn't agree after I got a second opinion though... The prices seemed fair, but I never found out if the price reflected the quality of the work or not since I waited over a week while my car collected dust in their yard with no work being performed. They did a "diagnosis" within a day or two, but at this point, that's not very impressive. The computer tells you what's wrong with most things these days, and I had already handed them the answer in the first place. Anyway, I had to just take my car back in the end so I could get it serviced elsewhere in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Started to have trouble with my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. Took it to another repair shop, who suggested replacing motor mounts. Ok, they clearly needed to be replaced but same problem after driving it off the lot. Round two. Sent to the dealership this time. They hooked it to their machines, which didn't diagnose the root cause. They suggested several fixes. $1,300 later, drove off the lot and same problem again. Took it back. Was informed we could either leave it with them so they could take apart the transmission or just wait for an error code to get thrown. Not really satisfying answers. Feels like if they actually took it for a test drive they could have diagnosed the issue. A day or two after driving it home, nearly got stuck in an intersection. Thankfully was able to get it back home (which was about 100 feet away). Roughly $3,000 into this issue, with a clear conclusion the root cause was a transmission issue, we started looking for another mechanic. Called around to several repair shops with decent reviews. Many placed offered rebuilt transmissions. After spending so much on it in the first place, was hesitant to go rebuilt -- especially with the 6L80. Found TMC who was happy to provide a new transmission with a 3-year 100K mfr warranty. Ok, not taking chances this time. Went with the new transmission. Worked with Martin, who was very nice and knowledgeable. He was able to get me in immediately. Months after the initial problem, my truck is finally running like new again. In fact, been driving it around for about a month now and couldn't be happier. I'm sure this won't be my last major vehicle issue. I'm also sure my next one will be going to TMC. Just an update from my last review. I brought in my Toyota sienna to TMC so they can install an undercover that goes between the wheel and the frame of the car it's this kind of blank plastic. I asked Martin to install this and I will pay him and he said don't worry about it. I'll do it at no charge. I bought this part from the Toyota dealership in Tempe and they were going to charge me $280 to install it. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Martin is such a horrible person to deal with! Unprofessional, rude and just overall a jerk! Came for a timing chain and water pump replacement. I spent over 5 grand and my vehicle is still not running properly. Everytime I came back because the car still wasn't driving properly, it was an absolute hassle and Martin clearly did not want to work on my car and would just rush it through and still nothing would get done. 2 timing chains later and months from when I first brought in the car, Martin loves playing victim and tries to make you feel bad and guilty for even asking for an estimate on when the car will be done, and btw whenever he tells you it's going to be done it never will be! One time I even got the car back and the engine air intake was ripped in half. Not once did he even communicate this and I had to purchase another out of my own pocket. Once again AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! You will save yourself a headache and thousands of dollars. I wish there were still honest and good mechanics out there because Martin is the exact opposite of that!! He even kicked me out of his shop because he was scared when I showed up unannounced to check on my car. I'm 23 years old and I work extremely hard to get to where I'm at. When people and especially other business owners take advantage and lie and scam people it's extremely frustrating. I ended up getting kicked out with my car half finished and no invoice or anything to even see the work that he had done. Once again I easily spent over 6-7 thousand dollars here and was treated horribly. Very happy to see that more people are having a similar experience as me, I hope this place goes out of business!! Update- Read this guys response and you'll understand what type of owner and professionalism he has towards customers. I told you multiple times in person that you don't know how to work on this car so why do you keep saying you do and nothing I said on this review wasn't said to your face before you got scared, tried to call the police and kicked me out. You did the timing chain twice because you and your guys have 0 clue what you're doing. My car has long been fixed and is running fine and I even went and bought a ford raptor to daily now so yes I am doing just very well I completely forgot to leave this review so here I am, 1.5 years later according to Detective Martin making sure to let everyone know how much of a POS mechanic and person you are. My 12 year old stage 2 Audi is clearly way to complicated for TMC auto as Martin even stated himself. Only come here if your looking for an oil change on your Toyota Prius and even then BEWARE!! And just to clarify my Audi is running fine now due to me taking it to an actual honest and knowledgeable mechanic who was able to fully take care of my issues. Vehicle stalled after $600+ repair and had to be towed to another repair shop. Entire transmission had to be replaced and was told everything was fine after initial repair and test drive. Woman owned business isn't quite accurate as it's owned by a husband and wife. Be careful going here. Greulich's is a solid choice as an alternative. I helped my daughter pay for the ultimate repair AFTER your 'machine' diagnostics didn't pick up dirty transmission fluid. The defensiveness and taking her car for a 'test drive' without her and then it still not being fixed is and was unacceptable. I just had a great experience with TMC Auto Repair. I had three dashboard lights go off and asked if I could bring my car in that same day. Martin said I was good to take it in that same day. They found an issue with my gas cap and only charged me $20 to replace the part. I was able to pick up that same day after hours. Because it was a simple fix they didn't charge me anything for labor. I just saved over 1500 by bringing my wife's car over to see Martin @ JMC. We were told by another shop that a shifting issue was being caused by a failing clutch and cable. I decided to bring the car over to JMC since he had some very good reviews and was willing to diagnose the issue at no charge. Well, after thoroughly examining the clutch and pressure plate, he found that wasn't the source of the issue. It was the shift cable, it was loose! So, he was able to tighten it up and the issue went away! All it cost was a small labor fee which is ten times cheaper than having the clutch and pressure plate replaced! Thanks Martin!!! read more

My Acura MDX recently got serviced at TMC for engine failure because of lack of oil. I could not be more pleased with the level of communication and accommodations Martin provided while my car was being serviced. He gave a quote and estimated time the car would be finished within the same day I towed it to be looked at. The lack of oil was caused by a different auto shop not taking responsibility that they never put oil in my vehicle during the paid oil change. Martin called the shop and advocated for me. And was able to find a newer engine and installed everything within 2-3 days to save me money on rental vehicles. He gave me the lowest quote on labor fees and found a reasonably priced engine. During these unexpected circumstances, I am so grateful my car was provided a newer engine and was worked on by a trust worthy shop at TMC. Will be back for any and all future car services. They charge a premium price for a less than quality brake job! This shop refuses to re-surface rotors, but will sell you new ones. New ones are not at all necessary unless you have worn brake pads down to the rivets that hold them., which results in deep scoring of the rotors. In that case you have no choice but to replace them. They told me they will only sell new rotors as that way the new pads last longer. HOWEVER, they have no problem putting new pads on an old rotor that has not been resurfaced, which definitely causes pads to wear out faster. Further, I asked about repacking wheel bearings? They ignored this question, but since they will not resurface rotors they have no reason to take rotor off spindle which is required to repack wheel bearings. I repeat, HIGH price for a MEDIOCRE BRAKE JOB!! read more

Where do I start? Well, I can start by saying that the amount of funds I've laid out to TMC for auto repair, if invested right, could put the owner's son through at least 2 yrs at ASU. If repair cost is ur driving factor, u may get a little quizzy. If quality work, paying for what you get, professional service, and an owner/tech that can, and will get 'er done right, TMC is your shop. I'll admit, the first time I took my vehicle to TMC, and Martin emailed the Repair Order, when I saw that bottom line number, and after I caught my breath, I would have sworn Martin had been smoking something thru a glass pipe. After my due diligence, I concluded all the other auto repair reps I talked to compare, they all must be high as well. It came down to Martin's professionalism, and his wife's awesome personality. I have no problem paying the outrageous, suck u dry, gonna eat Top Ramen for the next week, "Honey, concider this ur B-day gift", we can't afford to waste gas in other car, so come on hun, public trans will be fun, cost of repair at TMC, for the quality of work performed, yup, all worth it. All you haters out there, and those needing auto repair, look at the number of cars there at TMC for repair. Parking your vehicle for repair is a challenge. Then look at the make and models of those vehicles. BMW, Bently, Mazarati, Jaguar, not sure of model, but that newer Mercedes had a twin turbo V8. I ran my fingers a Ross it as I passed. TMC must be doing something right. And there I took my '07 Saturn. I guarantee you, my car was treated as well, if not better than those high ends. And the tamales I took to the shop had nothing to due with the Qual service I received, and continue to receive. OK, I've rambled enough, I won't go into, I think I saw Martin walking on water. I may have myself been on drugs that day, but that water to wine thing, supposedly his wife did, hey, y'all can draw your own conclusions. What I will say, with all sincerity, I do recommend the auto repair services provided by TMC Auto Repair in Tempe. I've sent family and friends there, all ending up satisfied customers. Now, a disclaimer, and I disagree this has anything to do with the great service I get, but I was told that I mentioned to Martin how excellent of a marksman my wife is, and if things weren't as expected, he could run, but he'd only die tired. I don't recall saying this, I think there was a miscomm. My brain tells me I said, "Excellent job Martin, my wife and I are going to run to get tamales." If I dont remember, it never happened. Go see the folks at TMC on Apache. You'll be glad you did. Because all issues/repairs are diff, maybe less than 1% will cry about something. Take note though, if ur issue turns way negative, comm me. My wife will only wing him, but he'll feel the round way before hearing the shot. In the game "Call of Duty", of course. This OG is out. read more

AMAZING! Martin was super-helpful. Took a Mercedes gle 43 amg for a full diagnostic. I told Martin something felt funky when turning at higher rates of speed. He took the time to drive it himself & get a feel for it. He felt the same thing I did so they took additional time, apart from the diagnostic, to further inspect and ultimately tighten the subframe. What was the charge for that additional time and service? Zero. Absolutely amazing service and attention to the client's needs. Travis was very helpful and answered all of my questions as well.
