By now I'm a regular and I've downed everything on the menu that's gf - which is a lot for sensitive folks in fact, more than enough! I love to hear the clergymen in prayer in the back room, and the regulars with their polite nods of acknowledgment remind you where you are. The community outreach is deeper than can be spotted in just one visit since good deeds are done so silently behind the scenes. The consistency and flavors still cannot be beat for the price as they insist on undercharging seniors while egg prices continue to go straight up. Tipping decent and participating in toys 4 tots and school supply drives seems the best way to support these peeps. Carpet dining forever! No other breakfast spot can touch you Yolk, I luv you!!!

Went here for breakfast to try a new place, everything was great! A nice homely atmosphere and even though all the tables were full it wasn't loud or didn't feel crowded.

I came to Holiday, FL for vacation. We wanted something close to our Airbnb and found The Broken Yolk. It's a small place - a simple diner. Nothing special about it. We were seated quickly. We got our coffee first, which I found very weak, almost like watered-down. They didn't have flavored creamers. We ordered just an omelet with a two-egg breakfast. We waited 35 to 40 minutes for our food. The place didn't seem to be too busy. The food was just OK. This place is not for me and we won't be coming back.

If you are looking for great breakfast this is an excellent option. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and cook to order.

Solid no frills breakfast spot with a lot of options and always a full cup of coffee. The decor is definitely not anything notable, but it's clearly a small, family owned business with TV's donated by some boat company (as they are noted). I've never been for dinner, but gone a few times with my parents for breakfast which they love to do and find the quality of food and service pretty consistent. They've got specials posted on a white board. I got a veggie omelet, so a good filling omelet, toast, and home fries for like $6? What's not to like? There's not a lot of seating and the tables are pretty close, but I've never had an issue waiting on a table or bumping into someone.

Flavor your food! Cook your eggs completely. I've been here twice and both times were a fail. Seasoning is a thing, chef!

Lots of excellent food for the money. We went for breakfast before the causeway. You can pick up as well.

We were attracted by the Yelp! reviews. I had my eye on the World Famous Chicken Benedict. It was…read moreeven better than everyone had said it would be! Our server, Jerrica, was wonderful and helped us choose from among the many appetizers as well as and the entree selections for my wife and myself. It has a very local homey feel in all of the best of ways (i..e., made from scratch, not too kitschy). It was a better experience than we expected, and we had high expectations because of all the great reviews we had read. Please make the time to come on down here. (We were in NPR to kayak ourselves.) Yes, I wrote here because I'm writing this before we have finished dessert. Well, I should say our second dessert. We couldn't decide so we went with the Limoncello cake AND the homemade bread pudding, which is huge! We ate the first desert so quickly I didn't get a picture of it. Pics never look as good as the food IRL, but I put one in for posterity. (It looks pretty good!)

My friend selected Herschel's scratch kitchen because they make everything from scratch. We seated…read moreourselves at a booth, ( please add more cushion to your seats please) they were a bit hard, lumpy and uncomfortable. Our waitress was prompt, but very busy. Our drinks were served right away and refilled when they got low. I ordered the Phili cheesesteak, which was ok. Cut from prime rib, very good. My friend ordered a Rubin, which she said was just ok. The bread was toasted a bit too much and cut her lip. Her sweet potato fries were excellent. My fries were perfectly made. They had a seasoning that gave them that extra umph. Crispy but not too crispy. Our waitress checked on us a few times. It was loud, that was ok. Outside seating was pretty full, empty tables had left over dishes from previous diners so we ate inside. As far as Herschel's scratch kitchen goes, I'd give it 5 stars. But, the parking is horrendous!!!! I had to park 3 blocks away and I'm disabled! The streets are very narrow too. Will I go back? Only if someone drove me. I do recommend you giving Herschel's scratch kitchen a try. Good food, a bit pricy. Good luck finding a parking spot.
