    Buffalo Trace Manhattan
    Scott M.

Estuary -- downtown NPR Nice clean, minimalist decor. The room is lively--read: noisy. Fine for a fun night out, maybe not ideal for a first date where conversation matters. So, no substitutions. The menu says so, the server will remind you, and honestly? It's a chef driven menu. Interesting background, too: Chef/owner James Renew spent 28 years training with chefs across Florida, Las Vegas, and Sydney before opening Estuary. Apparently, they've been voted among the best restaurants in the Tampa area two consecutive years running. It shows. We started with the crab beignets -- crispy, golden, and paired with a jalapeño aioli that managed to be interesting without setting your face on fire. Nicely done, though I wouldn't have minded a little more kick. The steak frites were the star of the show. The steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. The fries? Cooked in duck fat. DUCK FAT. Honestly, tasted like fries to me -- and a little underdone at that. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of the place -- rightfully so. The Buffalo Trace Manhattan on the rocks was dangerously good. Drinks all around were solid. Total came to just over $100 for two before tip -- fair for this quality. Fair warning though -- they tack on a 3% credit card surcharge. Unnecessary and a little annoying at this price point. Nice higher end restaurant in the new downtown. Reasonable prices without being pretentious. We'll be back.

Such a great experience here. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and the food was amazing! The crab beignets and fish dish were both so tasty! We ate every last morsel!

Is the food plated beautifully? Yes. Is it worth the price, lack of flexibility, and overall taste? Not really. The service was good, and the atmosphere makes it a nice local spot to meet up with friends. However, the inability to modify your meal/sides at all was frustrating. The food, flavor, and what tasted like literal microwaved mashed potatoes was disappointing to say the least and definitely did not justify the price point. Overall, it just wasn't worth it for us, but I can see how others might still enjoy it for the ambiance.

We wanted something different but good. We found Estuary while walking around, and the menu sounded amazing! It's a modern but low key vibe, well setup and clean! My kind of place!! So we were absolutely game for this place!! We got immediately seated in Erin's area! she was kind, pleasant and extremely friendly! All a part of this experience. We tried some cocktails...Filthy Flamingo (OMG YUM) and Dirty Martini! We ordered the Baked Oysters ----delicious, small but the flavor was off the charts! We then ordered our salads and entrees. 1 Beet Salad and 1 Local fresh Salad (1/2 order) - perfect size in both cases, again the flavors were perfect together! The entrees truly were spectacular! perfection and highly recommended! we had the Waygu Sirloin and Red Fish! Don't change a thing...no need for anything. Truly the most delicious food we have had in ages! A gem in New Port Richey!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A very cute place for dinner! We found street parking before coming in for a 6:15 reservation for dinner. We were promptly seated and our server was very attentive. I got a cocktail with pear vodka which was so light and tasty! We got a bunch of plates including the table bread with chicken butter which was phenomenal! The crab beignets had a lot of crab inside and you get 4 of them. The beet salad was so amazing and the steak tartare was surprisingly very good (my first time trying). The potato hash on the bottom is super crispy which balances the tartare nicely. I'd come back again!

Stopped in this morning to try out Estuary for brunch and was very pleased with the experience!!! We were seated upon entering the restaurant. Our server, Jolene was extremely efficient and a pleasure to have helping us. She assisted in menu selections which helped with my decisions for entrees. Drinks were kept flowing the entire time which also was nice!! All the food was excellent with delectable flavors and beautiful presentation as well!! Definitely recommend this establishment and look forward to dining here again for dinner next time!! Keep up the great work!!!

I have been here 2 times now. I love the greens and dark woods. Food is unique and flavorful. Service is knowledgeable and prompt. Add this place to your list. It's worth the drive and New Port Richey is a cute little town. I recommend a stroll around the park after dinner. Enjoy the brunch pictures! PHENOMENAL

Enjoyed a special birthday dinner. Great ambiance. Elite menu. The service was impeccable. Drinks made with care and even better to drink.

Our favorite restaurant to celebrate special occasions. Love how the menu changes on what's in season, never had a bad meal. Wait staff is phenomenal and presentation is beyond perfection.

I've been twice in the last month and both times were fantastic. My favorite is the Steak Frites. AMAZING!! Anyone who says the Duck Fat Fries aren't anything great probably think Burger King fries are the best! My friend got the Burger and she swore it was the best burger she has ever had. That is saying a lot bc she is very well traveled. Her only complaint was she would have liked to have the Duck Fat Fries. The drinks were fabulous! Everyone was sooo friendly. There are booths, tables or bar seating. Beautiful classy decor. I would HIGHLY recommend you experience this great restaurant!!

The fish dip and steak frites are amazing! Sooo good. I'll be back. Friendly staff, great drinks and decor. LOVE!!

Went to brunch here with some friends today. Started off with a couple bloody Mary's and an espresso martini . All the drink were good. We also started off with biscuits and strawberry jam. I love these and will definitely try the gravy with them next time. We all tried something different for our entrees. I had the avocado toast. My friends ordered the pork belly Benedict and the hash. The hash was spicy from the sausage. Then we topped it all off with the doughnuts! And they were very yummy. The ambiance is very hip with a lot of green and natural light. The booths are clean and comfortable. The music was great! I had to ask where it was from because I was really into it. The server kept the drinks full and dishes cleaned off the table, which is very important to us. I can't wait to come back and try more things! Great job James! :)

We were greeted at the door and taken right away to our table. It was Wednesday night, so it wasn't very busy. Our waitress was super attentive and offered a lot of advice on the menu. We each had something different to try, and each of us enjoyed our meal immensely. Their cute shell shaped butter was delicious, I guess it was a brown sugar butter, which offered just the right sweet on top of their warm bread. Our table enjoyed Caesar salad and the beet salad, both of which did not disappoint. The salads were offered in a small or large portion. The French onion soup was a relatively small portion, but when paired with the salad, it was a perfect meal. I was told the burger was one of the best they'd ever had, and the Parmesan potatoes were delicious. Both the scallop risotto and filet tips were hits too. We all cleaned our plates. It is listed as fine dining, and their prices definitely cater to that. I would recommend maybe a little brighter lights, but overall it was very cozy inside.

Pimento cheese is a fond childhood memory, so I had to try it. Very good! My husband ate all the tuna before I could try it! The complimentary bread with herbed butter was phenomenal! There were five of us at dinner. Each of us ordered either the scallops or the filet. The filet was truly the most tender steak I've ever eaten. Service was efficient. Not overly personable, not rude. My only negative feedback for this restaurant is that it is definitely somewhere you go for an experience or date night, not if you're hungry. I'm fine with paying a premium for good food but I shouldn't leave hungry. Plates that cost $60 per plate should fill me up and come with a salad, in my opinion. It was a nice experience.

Our server, Jerrica, was wonderful and helped us choose from among the many appetizers as well as and the entree selections for my wife and myself. It has a very local homey feel in all of the best of ways (i..e., made from scratch, not too kitschy). It was a better experience than we expected, and we had high expectations because of all the great reviews we had read. Please make the time to come on down here. (We were in NPR to kayak ourselves.) Yes, I wrote here because I'm writing this before we have finished dessert. Well, I should say our second dessert. We couldn't decide so we went with the Limoncello cake AND the homemade bread pudding, which is huge! We ate the first desert so quickly I didn't get a picture of it. Our drinks were served right away and refilled when they got low. I ordered the Phili cheesesteak, which was ok. Cut from prime rib, very good. My friend ordered a Rubin, which she said was just ok. The bread was toasted a bit too much and cut her lip. Her sweet potato fries were excellent. My fries were perfectly made. They had a seasoning that gave them that extra umph. Crispy but not too crispy. Our waitress checked on us a few times. It was loud, that was ok. Outside seating was pretty full, empty tables had left over dishes from previous diners so we ate inside. As far as Herschel's scratch kitchen goes, I'd give it 5 stars. But, the parking is horrendous!!!! I had to park 3 blocks away and I'm disabled! The streets are very narrow too. Will I go back? Only if someone drove me. I do recommend you giving Herschel's scratch kitchen a try. Good food, a bit pricy. Good luck finding a parking spot.

Making reservations on open table as quick and efficient. When we arrived, our tables put together and ready for us and we were sat immediately. A decent menu with good variety and fair pricing. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. My husband had the stacked turkey club sandwich and he thought it was delicious. I had the tuna poke nachos and the tuna was very good but the wonton nacho chips were stale tasting. I don't know if they were just left out for too long or if they were over fried, but that would be my only complaint. Unfortunately, our dining experience didn't quite live up to the recommendations. We ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time, but our food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and our appetizers didn't come out until the exact same time as our entrees. Since we had ordered simple appetizers like chips and queso and ceviche, it was a little disappointing that they weren't served first. When I asked about it, I was told the kitchen was backed up. Our server was pleasant, but she wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. There were a few times we had to get up and find her just to get drink refills or an update on our food. I completely understand that restaurants can have off days, and even the people I was dining with--who visit often and usually rave about this place--mentioned that this experience was out of the ordinary. As for the food, the ceviche wasn't my favorite, and my shrimp tacos were a bit over-fried. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially considering how highly the restaurant had been recommended. That said, the location and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful, and based on how much the locals seem to love it, I'm hoping this was just an off day rather than the norm.
