Great find in New Port Richey. Decided to go based on recommendations from a few friends. Located in downtown NPR, near the Suncoast Theater. Sat at the bar, because we like the vibe there better. Super impressed with the bartender. Not only made great martinis, she's a certified sommelier and had great recommendations for wine pairing with food. Started off with some raw oysters. Prepared properly (separated from the bottom shell). Fresh and tasty. Next was the appetizer special, seafood mix salad on crispy potato bars. Interesting and tasty. Finally, we had the grilled octopus. Seriously some of the best I had. Nice and tender and grilled just right. Service was outstanding and attentive. Atmosphere was lively, without being noisy. Met a nice couple that go there every week for date night. It will be in our regular rotation of places to go. read more

We were looking forward to our first experience at Estuary, but we left extremely disappointed. We had an issue with my wife's meal. However, our disappointment isn't so much with the meal. It's with how their manager, Anthony, handled the situation. Instead of showing empathy, apologizing, or making us feel like valued customers, Anthony spoke to my wife in a condescending, disrespectful, argumentative and unprofessional manner. No customer should ever be talked down to or belittled. A manager sets the tone for the entire restaurant. Anthony's behavior turned our evening into an unacceptable dining experience. Because of him, and him alone, we will never come back. I hope management take this review seriously. Food can always be corrected, but the way customers are treated is what determines whether they'll ever return. Unfortunately, because of how Anthony handled this situation, we will not be back, and we will not recommend Estuary to others. I sincerely hope no future customer has to experience the same treatment. read more

Estuary is in a great location in the middle of downtown NPR. It's more quiet that some of the more casual fun places. It is more low key, elegant for a quiet time. Although inside isn't the most quiet. I suggest making a reservation for a more smooth reception. Food was good. I absolutely loved my chicken. My husband liked my chicken better than his beef. Duck fries were nothing to fawn over. Barely tasted or saw the parmesean cheese. Overall, food was good, tender and is supposedly hand selected by check. I left full. Price tag is up there. Estuary -- downtown NPR Nice clean, minimalist decor. The room is lively--read: noisy. Fine for a fun night out, maybe not ideal for a first date where conversation matters. So, no substitutions. The menu says so, the server will remind you, and honestly? It's a chef driven menu. Interesting background, too: Chef/owner James Renew spent 28 years training with chefs across Florida, Las Vegas, and Sydney before opening Estuary. Apparently, they've been voted among the best restaurants in the Tampa area two consecutive years running. It shows. We started with the crab beignets -- crispy, golden, and paired with a jalapeño aioli that managed to be interesting without setting your face on fire. Nicely done, though I wouldn't have minded a little more kick. The steak frites were the star of the show. The steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. The fries? Cooked in duck fat. DUCK FAT. Honestly, tasted like fries to me -- and a little underdone at that. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of the place -- rightfully so. The Buffalo Trace Manhattan on the rocks was dangerously good. Drinks all around were solid. Total came to just over $100 for two before tip -- fair for this quality. Fair warning though -- they tack on a 3% credit card surcharge. Unnecessary and a little annoying at this price point. Nice higher end restaurant in the new downtown. Estuary has always satisfied my appetite, especially if I'm looking for a nicer upscale dinner out. The decor is elevated and tastefully done and the ambiance is always good. The service is professional and pleasant. I have been out for dinner here several times and have had a great experience each time. I have lived and dined in big cities and Estuary is the only spot in the area that makes me feel like I'm having a fancy city dinner. I always bring my out of town friends here because I know they will enjoy it. Side note, if you save room after dinner the espresso martini is one of the best I've had. Is the food plated beautifully? Yes. Is it worth the price, lack of flexibility, and overall taste? Not really. The service was good, and the atmosphere makes it a nice local spot to meet up with friends. However, the inability to modify your meal/sides at all was frustrating. The food, flavor, and what tasted like literal microwaved mashed potatoes was disappointing to say the least and definitely did not justify the price point. Everything was great went twice. I went as a guest and then a relative sent a gift card. But after seeing the prices I normally wouldn`t go to a place that high. Service was fine and the food good. $20 for a Hamburger and fries though was out of my league. I got the cheapest meal on the menu when I was taken there while most meals were $30 and UP. read more

So we were absolutely game for this place!! We got immediately seated in Erin's area! she was kind, pleasant and extremely friendly! All a part of this experience. We tried some cocktails...Filthy Flamingo (OMG YUM) and Dirty Martini! We ordered the Baked Oysters ----delicious, small but the flavor was off the charts! We then ordered our salads and entrees. 1 Beet Salad and 1 Local fresh Salad (1/2 order) - perfect size in both cases, again the flavors were perfect together! The entrees truly were spectacular! perfection and highly recommended! we had the Waygu Sirloin and Red Fish! Don't change a thing...no need for anything. A very cute place for dinner! We found street parking before coming in for a 6:15 reservation for dinner. We were promptly seated and our server was very attentive. I got a cocktail with pear vodka which was so light and tasty! We got a bunch of plates including the table bread with chicken butter which was phenomenal! The crab beignets had a lot of crab inside and you get 4 of them. The beet salad was so amazing and the steak tartare was surprisingly very good (my first time trying). Stopped in this morning to try out Estuary for brunch and was very pleased with the experience!!! We were seated upon entering the restaurant. Our server, Jolene was extremely efficient and a pleasure to have helping us. She assisted in menu selections which helped with my decisions for entrees. Drinks were kept flowing the entire time which also was nice!! All the food was excellent with delectable flavors and beautiful presentation as well!! I've been twice in the last month and both times were fantastic. My favorite is the Steak Frites. AMAZING!! Anyone who says the Duck Fat Fries aren't anything great probably think Burger King fries are the best! My friend got the Burger and she swore it was the best burger she has ever had. That is saying a lot bc she is very well traveled. Her only complaint was she would have liked to have the Duck Fat Fries. The drinks were fabulous! Everyone was sooo friendly. Went to brunch here with some friends today. Started off with a couple bloody Mary's and an espresso martini . All the drink were good. We also started off with biscuits and strawberry jam. I love these and will definitely try the gravy with them next time. We all tried something different for our entrees. I had the avocado toast. My friends ordered the pork belly Benedict and the hash. The hash was spicy from the sausage. Then we topped it all off with the doughnuts! And they were very yummy. The ambiance is very hip with a lot of green and natural light. The booths are clean and comfortable. The music was great! I had to ask where it was from because I was really into it. I got steak frites. Service was excellent. I'm gluten and dairy free. The Margarita was the best I've had and the meal was above par. Whenever I can eat fries, I'm in heaven and they are soooo good. They are cooked on duck fat. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Everything meticulously made to order in a casual yet refined atmosphere. A few bar patrons were a little colorful on this evening, but didn't stay much past happy hour. That was the only could have been better. Service was wonderful and we were delighted by our appetizers and entrees. We'll definitely be back. Tonight we are at the Estuary. Cocktails were perfect. I am very specific when ordering a martini and it was spot on. Appetizers we awesome. I had the oysters on the half shell. Wife had the crab beignets, Nat the roasted oysters. Main courses weee the Steak and frites, Red fish colcannon, house burger and the wagyu sirloin. All perfect tasty and memorable. We ate at Estuary for the first time on Friday. We arrived there as soon as they opened for the day. The food was excellent! The duck and sirloin entrees were amazing. Our server was attentive. My only complaint is that there was only one other party in the entire restaurant, and the seater placed them at a table right out from our booth. I'm sure both parties would have enjoyed our respective dining experiences more not being seated right next to each other when the rest of the establishment was empty. read more
