Last night some friends and I decided to try Americana 50's Family Diner in Holiday Florida again. Chef Ramsey would go nuts with the decor in disrepair. The dining room is in bad need of a major renovation. Looks like a child try to repaint it. On the sign it says there is a salad bar. That was filled with artificial plants and old cars. We never got any bread or rolls for our meal. We had Marie for a waitress and I will say that she was fabulous. Then came the food. I had the chicken lemon soup which tasted like warm lemonade, very disappointing. My friends had the Manhattan clam chowder. More like fish broth, not so good. The Greek salad was OK. I had the Philly steak sandwich which didn't even come close to filling up the way over sized roll. It was dry and tasteless with cheap meat. Overall I was not pleased with any of the food, as was my friends. So being said I will pass up this restaurant in the future. Such a shame. read more

The food is good, especially the hamburgers in which we have eaten there along with the breakfast food also. We go there often and the staff are always friendly and nice and polite especially Bill. Bill always goes above and beyond to make sure our food order is correct. We always order the same thing for breakfast there and he knows it by heart when we sit down to place our order. That is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you so much for that along with the management Maria always going above and beyond to make sure we have a great experience there. We have recommended this diner to family and friends . It is nice to find a diner like this place who cares. They were out of some things just to make a simple eggs Benedict, and the service was inattentive. Really disappointing.

Best Manhattan clam chowder I've had ever. Daughter said the lemon chicken soup was so good she could bathe in it. Chicken Cesar salad with housemade dressing and croutons was out of this world. Turkey on the hot turkey sandwich was from a breast roasted and sliced in house and was delicious. This is a gem of a diner that feels like stepping back into the 50's. Not a fan been there a couple times in the past 15 years they bragged that they're from New Jersey first of all don't give Jersey a bad name because those diners in Jersey ain't nothing like it. The bacon is like that bacon that's already cooked and they re-cook it and it doesn't even get a good crisp on it unless you burn it to death the eggs are very unfresh. A matter fact I stopped eating eggs from one time. I ate there because the egg was so bad and I get over medium but bacon The diner is a cute concept, but I don't know it's not that clean in there the waitress was OK and the food is OK but don't ever compare it to Jersey food diners because Jersey diners are number one and your place has nothing near that whatsoever. Don't give Jersey a bad name. I'm surprised they're still open. lol. read more

I know times are tough, but this just blows my mind.! I always breakfast that comes with a free coffee and a juice the other day they said they were out of juice people were at the store buying it right now so I asked for a milk instead they said they couldn't do that so I came back today and the owner was in front of me and I told the waitress about the same thing and asked for another juice oh no, can't do that. I told her you just lost a good customer over 4 ounces of orange juice. My bill $28.40 I told the owner about this and stupid people talking about the waitress. We stopped here for lunch after a doctor visit as we do not live nearby. I ordered aseafood combo platter and hubby had a club sandwich. Tons of food and very large portions. For $17.99 I had breaded shrimp, scallops, haddock and a crab cake with fries. It came with cole slaw, a salad and dessert. Quality was OK. Breading was thick on everything. They definitely implied the theme to me and my mixed ethnic group of friends. Kept it 50s to the fullest when it came to their customer service and quality and quantity of food. Made it very uncomfortable serviced everyone that sat down 15 to 20 minutes after we were seated before coming over and taking our order. it just gave racist and I will never go back. I would honestly tell people of color to not try them. It was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had to deal with and I'm just happy that I went with adults and not my children read more

Used to be a great place but as of recently they never have anything that's on there menu. Happened the last 3 visits. Really stinks when you're in the mood for a curtain item. 6 years since my first review and they've changed the name to P&J's Fast Break, same owners. Go figure! But that's neither here nor there. The bottom line is the food and service has taken "a star up!" They are COVID-19 compliant to the point that masks are required, all staff are masked, and tables are marked for social distance. Breakfast, my fave meal, is available all day! I've been bringing Gigi, my Granddaughter, here since she was six! A picker eater then and more so at fourteen, she never has a problem finding something on the menu. The omelets are made so good and at a good size too. I'm a grits eater and love the thick creamy consistency here. Their psncakes do not fall apart and are better than many other breakfast places. Service is friendly and attentive. I do enjoy the rock and roll decor with juke music from the 50s and eRly 60s. Surprisingly, my Granddaughter loves it too. This is a solid representation of a classic diner. My family used to go here a lot for breakfast, the food is good when it's cooked all the way, sometimes the scrambled eggs are not cooked all the way. I don't think they have a set cook. Sometimes the food is not right and sometimes it's really good. It's a hit or miss. Don't visit the bathroom or look at the kitchen and you'll be ok. Until you see a huge cockroach walk past your table and the waitress catches it in between her feet and for several minutes she's trying to pick it up, then she brings it outside. That was strike 3 and they are out. We haven't and won't go back. read more

Tom Terrific here with another honest restaurant review. I was going to go to the grocery store for eggs when i decided to make a stop in at The Americana Diner. I was greeted by two ladies and asked if i wanted a drink. Once I understood how the menu and free coffee and orange juice worked I ordered the eggs over easy, homefries and bacon. I received my coffee and in as little as 10 minutes my breakfast came even though it was Easter Sunday and they were full. Applause for the kitchen crew! The eggs were done just like i make them myself, the homefries were very good with chunks of grilled potatoes but the suprise was FOUR slices of bacon. In many diners it's only two or three. With the price of bacon today i'd call that a generous serving. You have a choice of wheat or white toast, i went with white. I enjoyed two cups of coffee and fresh OJ. I learned from one of my servers named Shayna that this 1950's style diner is family owned. They always seem to have cars there so my mother's adage is true. When you always see cars at a restaurant the food is usually good and affordable. Shayna was very kind and smiling. My meal came to $8.30 and i tipped $4. I'm going to recommend The Americana Diner to all of my readers and I thank those who were kind enough to write to me with their experiences of area eateries. As you know, I had to delete 500 of my reviews due to a legal issue. OUCH! Lesson learned. read more

I had not been in for a while and happened to be in the area with time for lunch. I sat at the counter and ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was fairly busy but the server was fast and friendly. My food came out quickly and it was just as good as I remembered. The burger was perfect and the fries were cooked fresh.
