    Meat pizza
    Terri S.

Came to the former drug store turned Pizza bar in Anderson! The restaurant was a little smoky (like something burned?) when we got there but it was bearable. People were really nice and friendly! Had some good tea and cheeseticks for an app. They were good and the ranch was great! Had a supreme and meat pizza and they were delicious! Crust was good but I like mine cooked a little longer. It wasn't doughy, just softer than I prefer.

Service was good, wings were pretty good and the location and old fashioned building is awesome. You feel like you're in an old saloon.

Cozy restaurant with good service…read more Service and atmosphere: As described above haha. The service was good and staff were friendly. Food and drinks: Good selection of well thought through dishes. They offer surf and turf options. The red snapper was pretty good. The burger was well made and tested good too. Highly recommend chicken wings. They were crunchy and juicy. We didn't try alcoholic beverages but they do offer full selection of different drinks. Pricing: $$ - definitely worth the visit. P.S. the restaurant uses 100% beef tallow for frying!! - six star rating here.

Father's Day- dinner experience. There were several tables with what appeared to be 3-4 servers,…read morewith 1 doubling as bar tender (personality-rarely smiled and could have communicated better with those at the bar), and a guy that sat us and gave us menus (which were for the morning) who later told me he was a busboy who they had him running as hostess tonight. We sat for several minutes before flagging him down for different menus, and then waited another several minutes before flagging down another person to see who was going to be our server-as we still didn't even have water. She wasn't sure if it was going to be her (Teresae) or someone else... so we went ahead and ordered an appetizer and drink since she was there. About 4 minutes passed when the other person showed up to see if we needed a server. It took several minutes to get his drink which came after the appetizer- artichoke dip with baguettes which were decent. From the time we placed our main order- sandwich and snapper, it took about 26 minutes. The waitress never came back to check on us during that time, and we had to flag down the guy that sat us to get a water refill. The food was decent, but something had an aftertaste (maybe the onion rings fried in tallow?), & the snapper was a little salty. The waitress never followed up to see how the food was or ask if we needed anything else. We finally had to get her attention to get a to go container and our check. Having been a waitress for several years, here's my suggestions: A GM needs to be on the premise, communicate to servers after a table is seated so they know it's their turn, staff needs training on customer protocol/service, staff needs to quit touching their hair, wiping their face/nose (especially the guy as I thought he was going to have a heart attack as much as he sweat) and then serving food/drinks/setting the table (wash your hands!), & if kitchen staff is unhappy about something, don't do it to where people can see them... There were a few other tables that waited just as long as us to get service, and sometimes the two girls switched customers after starting with them. Not impressed- no GM/Mgr. on the premise, service was severely lacking, and food was average. This place won't be on my list to come back again any time soon... and then to see the banners in the photo... I had to laugh.

They warm up the table with this amazing cornbread & hot rolls Today I had the fried catfish with fries and coleslaw. It was deliciously light & flaky but so filling I only ate 1 filet. The coleslaw was the best I've ever had! Ever! And I don't normally eat/like hush puppies but I always try and thumbs up; different from what I've tried in years past. My husband had the chicken fried steak with okra & mashed potatoes which I got a 'it was good' response which really means... he ate all of it with no complaints. Lol very rare to get a 'fantastic' or 'delicious' outta him. There are no booths, which is my preferred dining experience but we're not here for the comfort! The table was a little wobbly but I didn't care, I love staring at the pie shelf while dining! Nicely country style decorum. Great food delivered quickly with a smile! prices are inline with the quality/quantity! Thank you! Happy New Year!

An appetizer main and dessert We got served some fresh cornbread and dinner rolls and also had fried pickles and hot wings. Then we had the chicken fried chicken and different sides. Finally we had banana pie and coconut pie as dessert. I know we ordered lots of fried food and it was good. The pies were not good. The banana was all brown and the coconut time was so thick and not good at all. I will go back if I visited the town again

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

I'd have to say, the sandwich was pretty life changing and it's something I want to try to replicate, but likely can't 100%. Although they have many sandwiches to choose from, the Stallone was the one recommended to me. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and has a concoction of pesto, cheese, tomato and garlic? Inside it's LOADED with capicola, ham, salami, soppresata, and provolone. The sandwich was definitely a flavor bomb and I still think about it til this day. I would love to go back and try some other sandwiches of theirs too!
