Absolutely fresh food! Quality ingredients. Gluten-free options! Warm wood paneling with plants and upbeat dance music for ambience. Friendly staff! We had the Spicy Crab and Burrata Tomato Gourmet Toasts. These were beautifully arranged on a bamboo board. (Spicy Crab was not very spicy after all.) The Purple Heart smoothie hit the perfect not-too-sweet note. Do be aware that when it's busy, the blenders are going non-stop, and it feels a bit like you're eating at home and someone's right there vacuuming. Nonetheless this place now pinned on my DC map!

The Spicy Crab Toast at Toastique is genuinely addictive. Generous lump crab layered with melted Swiss and fontina, a touch of sriracha aioli, jalapeño, and crisp greens on rustico toast creates a perfect balance of richness and freshness. It's surprisingly light yet still satisfying--one of those dishes you finish and immediately start thinking about the next time you'll have it. Pair it with one of their fresh, healthy juices and the whole experience feels indulgent and energizing at the same time.

We stopped by on a rainy day, not exactly knowing what to expect. The cafe is pretty cute, very bright. You order at the counter, and the staff is actually why Toastique gets a 4 instead of 3. The menu has lots of, well, toasts. They're served on a cute wood panel type thing with real silverware. My husband ordered one of the sandwiches that was advertised as a seasonal special. When it arrived, it was missing a couple ingredients that were in the photo. He asked about it and was told were extra. He said ok and walked away. Within a few minutes, there was a server with those missing ingredients. He said, "I just wanted you to have the sandwich you wanted." So, A+ for service. Kiddo got a smoothie, which was ok, and my toast was quite fancy. There are good vegetarian options, for sure.

Beautiful toasts and bowls, coffee and drinks. My avocado smash toast was pretty as a painting, with watermelon radish and colorful tomatoes. My friend's smoked salmon toast was very generous with the salmon. The toasts were heavy -- generous with avocado and laden with toppings. There's a casual and fun ambience. Pricey, though.

I've dropped by here a few more times since my initial review and I think that it's grown on me! Their smoothies are really good and I appreciate the range in healthy snacks and dishes. Everything is always very fresh and the folks that work here, always pleasant and helpful. I dropped by for a Blue Mystique Smoothie (Blue Spirulina, Banana, Pineapple, Mango and Almond Milk.) The person working at the time was kind enough to share with me the nutrition information for all of the menu items, which I had asked to see prior to ordering. The smoothie was delicious - refreshing, filling and not too sweet. The smoothie was around $10, but seeing that ordering a latte at many coffee shops these days will run me $7, a smoothie that will fill be up for a few hours seems more like money well spent in comparison. I loved the smoothie so much that I plan on dropping by again soon for a morning or mid-day boost. It definitely added a little pep to my step while enjoying a walk during these last warm days of the season.

I'm a tourist so I stopped in randomly and was super impressed! I'll be looking for ways to dupe the dragonberry smoothie from home, it was really delicious. The avocado toast was elevated by these delicious marinated tomatoes that were quite frankly addicting. The poached egg was perfect as well. Super happy I came in and am excited to come back on my next trip to DC!

Came here to satisfy my avocado toast craving and this is a hearty serving. I wish I had like some sea salt or something to add but this meal was cleansing and my heart was full and stomach happy. It's clean in here and cute but can have some traffic so you may or may not get a seat! But I was there comfy.

Bottom of the sandwich totally burned. For both of them.

I ordered 2 Smoked Salmon toasts. Just got home to eat it and they both are totally burned. They put smoked salmon, etc. on top and it looks fine (from the top) , but the bread is totally burned! For both sandwiches. Didn't they see it???? Of course they did! But they did not care (?!) Please check your food before your leave. It was $33 plus tip. It's not about the money, it's about the care and service! It smelled like something was burning when I was waiting, but I did not realize that it would be ignored and the bread would be used to make 2 sandwiches! The place has nice atmosphere and clean. I don't have any complaints there. The menu looks good too.

I ordered the gingerberry smoothie, and it was pretty good. Cafe was very clean, and the service was quick. Didn't really stand out from other smoothie shops, and for the price, it might not be worth it to come regularly. But if you're in the area and craving a smoothie, it's a good place to try.

A wonderful place. Bold, yet unassuming. Located right on the DC Wharf, you can walk in or order ahead. The Avocado toast came with some kind of watermelon radish that was the perfect complement to the tangy tomatoes and creamy Avocado. And the smoked salmon was legit with capers and cream cheese on still-warm whole grain toast. The presentation is so good you're really hesitant to take that first bite, but as you can see there's only going to be a crime scene left on that serving board when you're done, so dive in!

Hands down the best açaí bowl of my life. Ordered the PB & B per recommendation of the sweet girl behind the counter. She made it fresh right there - no pre blended açaí crap that you get at some places - and gracious on the toppings and peanut butter. 100000/10 and will definitely be back.

We stopped in for an acai bowl and smoothie. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the smoothie but we tried the blue mystique and orange crush. The blue mystique was good, but not great. I think it needed to be a bit sweeter. The orange crush was definitely not sweet enough and did not have much of an orange taste. I would definitely recommend the acai bowl. The smoothies were a bit too healthy for our liking. They have online ordering which is nice since they tend to get very busy.

Best, most beautiful toast ever. Everything was fresh, and the servers were nice. My only complaint is that on one of the toasts, the tomato slices were so thick, you had to remove them to take a bite. Smoothie was good, too. read more

The small Green Machine made for me and another gentleman today had a strange salinity, as though the smoothie was salted. There was a fly swooping around the food and a dirty high table covered in crumbs and a used napkin. At least the welcome mat looked clean despite the rainy foot traffic. read more

I definitely recommend this new place. It's a great addition to the SW District Wharf for several reasons: 1. "Everyday" prices and menu: I am excited about the SW Wharf redevelopment but wish that more of the new restaurants had affordable prices that would make them a good "everyday" options. Toastique fits that bill. 2. Healthful, delicious food: I had two dishes from their soft-opening menu, which was chalked onto a board, with a note that the menu will be expanding later. Both were outstanding. The heaped-up and vibrantly-colored avocado toast makes its competitors in other restaurants seem puny and unimaginative. And the açaí bowl holds its own against its "siblings" in São Paulo. See the pics. 3. Friendly crowd: the owner who was there when I went is very engaging and open to feedback. A number of customers who came in with their yoga mats after class let out around the corner appeared to be "regulars." read more

This place is really overrated. When I ordered the girl at the register didn't even pay attention to my order and I got the wrong dish. They fixed it which was really nice but I paid $7 for a toast that used canned tuna? Wasn't that special. Extremely overpriced. read more

Came here with friends after morning yoga for a quick drink. The establishment is cute and trendy aka very insta-friendly if you are looking for an organic picture to post. We got there around 10:15 in the morning on a Saturday and man the line was long! We waited for at least 5 min for a smoothie but the taste was very refreshing and healthy. Super nice store for a morning catch up with friends with toasts and coffee. It's a bit pricey but it puts you in the mood. read more

We recently stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel at the Wharf and there is a really shortage of breakfast places in the area. This restaurant was one of the few locations that popped up and I am so glad that we tried it. They have the most delicious things that keep you full for a really long time. I had a smoothie bowl and my husband had one of the toasts. They were so good and they had real ingredients that were freshly prepared. There was a minimal wait time from ordering to eating and the space was clean and bright. We plan on making a trip back to DC in the fall and will absolutely stop here. read more

This place is wonderful. All the toast offerings look wonderful. We shared a smoked salmon and and avocado toast. You can add a protein if you want. Servings are generous and so tasty! Just the right combination. My husband and daughter split an acai bowl that they loved. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in DC or NOVA. read more

I love Toastique! I live in the building next door, so it's super convenient for me. When I don't have time to cook breakfast (which is most of the time), I come here and grab a green machine smoothie and go. It's a really cute and quaint little shop, and it's super clean. The green machine is my favorite. It's very flavorful, filling, and gives me energy. Def my go to drink! The staff is very friendly, and they get you in and out, which is perfect for me for a girl who is always on the go! I recommend this place to all to try if you are on the wharf and looking for something healthy and flavorful. read more

I really loved the concept and ambiance of this little cafe- beautiful and delicious food that's also healthy for you. My friend and I wanted something yummy but also light and healthy and that's exactly what we got at Toastique. I ordered the PB+B bowl and my friend the avocado toast. The visuals on both of these food items was seriously almost too pretty to eat! The PB+B bowl had an acai base with fresh fruits, peanut butter, granola, dried dates, and honey. So delicious. I loved the added texture of all the toppings. The only complaint I had was that it was almost too sweet. I kind of felt sick after eating it (like how you feel when you eat an entire chocolate bar). The avocado toast on the other hand was a little too salty! Or so my friend says and it was actually a little difficult to eat whether you used a fork and knife or just used your hands. Either way, those are minor complaints to the experience. Also, I think he may have been a co-owner but a gentleman was going around cleaning all the tables and asking all the customers for feedback which was very warming to see. Good luck guys! read more

Toastique has the best acai bowls in the district, having tried them all at this point. An added bonus is that they are generous with their portions. I recommend their matcha // OG acai bowls or their near-equivalent smoothie green machine // superfruit. You can also ask to add their honey peanut butter blend drizzled on top (my personal fave). read more

I was craving one of Toastique's overpriced fancy toast items today but their bathrooms were restricted even for paying customers. After asking for clarification and explaining to the cashier I did not want to pay for overpriced $16+toast if I could not use the restroom while awaiting the order, I was told it was an owner rule. Happily spent my money around the corner with Lupo Marino who allows paying customers to use their restrooms. Healthy insalate (salad) options, great service, unlimited water, quality food, and nice atmoshere for a lot less. Peace! read more

Super yummy and healthy. Had the avocado smash toast and the salmon toast. They were huge and outstanding. The cherry tomatoes were crazy tasty in the avo smash (oh and I got an egg on top - yuuuum!). Salmon open face had a lot of high quality salmon, had a Cajun spice type of rub on it (probably too much) but overall very good. read more

What a great find at the Wharf DC! Tried a few toasts. Make sure you add a poached egg to the 3 cheese Italian. The salmon is also delicious as well as the avocado smash. Hard to decide which one is my favorite. They also have a dessert toast with peanut butter, bananas and berries. Their bowls look great too and will try that next time. The owners are super friendly and the decor is beautiful. This is a frequent must visit place!! read more

This place is excellent. Their avocado toast is the best I have EVER had. Super fresh and flavorful and overflowing with juicy tomatoes. And it's huge. HUGE. Twice as big as avocado toast anywhere else in DC. If it wasn't so hard to park around there, I would eat there every day! read more

Oh. My. Gosh. This place is absolutely fantastic. My friend and I decided to try out Toastique this morning. We split an avocado toast, a Dragonberry bowl, and a Superfruit smoothie. Everything was absolute perfection!!! The staff was welcoming and answered our every question with a smile. I only wish I lived closer to the Wharf just so I could eat this healthy every day. The prices may be a little higher than the typical smoothie place, but trust me, Toastique is worth every single penny. I'd much rather pay a few bucks more if it means getting such fresh, beautiful, and delicious food. read more

Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. We came in for lunch while on business. The prices are about $10-12 for the toast, but the servings are large and full. We ordered the Greek and the Avocado and there must have been at least two avocados on the one serving. The bread was delicious and the toppings were fresh. You definitely leave feeling healthy.
