Seen this place the other day dropping off my mom and noticed they had the viral strawberry Dubai chocolate. Tried them and they're $15 but to me so worth it! They give you a good size portion and they make them so pretty. The staff is super friendly and the place is so cute. They have everything from ice cream to boba teas to elotes to chips with cheese. Literally everything. The best store for sure. We got the wheels with chili and lime and I like to add cotiga cheese to it. Make them so much better! This place is really cute on the inside, and gives off mom and pop shop vibes. The guy that took my order was very nice, I got the Dubai chocolate strawberries. It was good but I was disappointed to see when he finished the order that there was no kataifi on it at all :( when I brought it up to him he said he'd get me next time. Gabriella was mopping when we showed up. I gave her the benefit of the doubt to wash her hands so I proceeded to order hoping she would wash before starting. She did NOT! She proceeded to make the item so I asked her to wash her hands so she did after I asked. Then she refused to sell kid scoops to my children present because she said other people would take advantage. Again I had my kids present. She only sold me 1 for my 2 year old but not for my 5 &6 year old. Then puts the ice cream in the small kid scoop cup so it fell off since it was too much ice cream for a small cup. She still charged me. Horrible service. Will be reporting this to Riverside County DEH for violating Food Code 2-301.14 I want to clarify that I was not confronting or arguing with the employee. I was simply asking for clarification on the store's policy regarding kids scoops. I was purchasing ice cream for my children (ages 5, 6, and 2) and requested kids scoops for them. Love this place!! They have everything you could ever want from ice cream and paletas to chamangos and tostiloscos! I first found out about this place when a good friend recommended it, as I was craving a chamango. It's always been a go-to for me, when I have that craving! Tocumbos is located right off the Los Alamos exit from the 215 freeway. It's almost hidden in a corner of the shopping plaza with the Starbucks and post office. Parking is never a problem and the store is always clean. Employees have always been friendly. The last time I went in, I called before I went to be sure they were still open. You never know these days with the rona still lingering and Yelp sometimes doesn't have updated hours. The lady who answered obviously didn't speak a lot of English but I'm pretty sure she got the gist of what I was trying to ask. When I got there, she made my chamango even though she was getting ready to close up shop. I appreciated that she wasn't in a rush or tried to scoot me out the door. Some people do that (consider yourself blessed if it hasn't happened to you, lol). It was bomb as usual and it's a good size for what you get. I frequent this place specially with my nephew and nieces. Usually, we come here after attending Santa Martha Catholic Church very close by. The staffs are great! They are friendly patient and helpful specially with my nephew and nieces who are indecisive on which flavors they want to try. I always get more than what I planned to every time I come here. We've been coming here for a long long time. Today, Maria made me a magoneada to go. I asked her to hold it in the freezer as my youngest Grandson was finishing up his ice cream. The other Grandson doesn't get out til 3:00. Upon walking out with the Mangoneada I was told they don't have lids. I don't understand how an ice cream store does not have a way to make this travel ready and safe. They have a ton of different fresh fruit that they chop up in the shop right in front of you. I like watermelon water the best. There are a several different ice cream flavors to choose from as well. I usually stay away from the ice cream though. Some of the flavor choices are pretty tempting however like tres leches, and animal cookie. Today I got a Mangoneada. I asked for it with more mango and less ice cream, and to add chaca chaca and chamoy. Its pretty tasty but not all the mango pieces are firm like I like my mango. Mangonada is one of the most popular items so why not try it?! It was tasty and refreshing. The straw is even covered in the chili pepper, note that the pepper melts off quickly in the ice cream, which can make it too "spicy. " (Off topic: I haven't had chili-pepper since I was little from the ice cream truck that would swing by after school.) Every item my kids and I have tried here has exceeded our expectations. The home made popsicles are amazing and taste so healthy too. After having lunch at the office, the girls and I had a sweet tooth. We were craving some Mexican treats. I spent many years living in San Diego, so I became very accustomed to the combination of spicy, sweet, and fruity! Living in temecula, I find it hard to come across anything delicious that I was so use to being in arms reach when I lived just north of the border to Mexico. So, I saved my favorite beloved "Chamango" for San Diego visits. The girls I work with mentioned this spot to me. So ofcourse, I said "let's go!" Location: This joint is in the furthest back corner of the shopping center. I would never have known it was there. So keep your eyes peeled! Parking: Depending where you choose to park, parking can be tight.. However, plenty of parking is available! Dining room: Eh.. It looks like the average taco shop. On the run down side.. Not something fancy, but as expected. So I was not bothered at all by the apperance, though in my opinion image means alot. *Side note: points are usually deducted by me according to dining room presentation.. But it was clean, so no points deducted. Menu: The selection of the menu was fairly large! They had the fruit bars (the coconut one... Yummy!!), fruit ice cream (I thought I was at "31 Flavors" Mexican version), and they had all your special frozen Mexican treats like Fresas con Crema, Mango Nada, and my favorite Chamango!! (because I know that chamoy is LIFE! Price: The price is fair. I spent less then, but very close to, $5 on my Chamango. Overall thought: I enjoyed this place! I went there today and I ordered strawberries and cream , ice cream, a diablito, a mangonada and two raspados. One of the raspados being vanilla and I told the only guy that was working there at the time to add lechera to it. I was expecting them to charge me a dollar or two extra which is fine but he ended up charging me a whole other raspado just for that when I only ordered two. I asked him why he charged me for 3 and he said that when you add an extra flavor to it he has to charge you for another one, which I'm sure is incorrect.
