Talia Kitchen was hands down one of the highlights of our visit to Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and restorative--perfectly reflecting the wellness-focused spirit of the resort. The open, beautiful space felt like it nourished both the body and soul. We started with the House Focaccia & Whipped Fresh Ricotta, topped with saba reduction, pine nut gremolata, and moon drop grapes. It was absolutely incredible and the perfect way to begin the meal. We also enjoyed the Roasted Potato Purée alongside our dinner, and it was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The dehydrated parsley, fried garlic, and grilled scallion oil elevated a seemingly simple dish into something truly memorable. For our entrée, we both ordered the Braised Brandt Beef Prime Short Rib, served with stokes purple yam purée, bon shimeji mushroom conserve, kohlrabi, and black trumpet demi-glace. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and beautifully prepared. To finish, we enjoyed the Lemon Posset with pickled blueberry compote, lavender chantilly, and English shortbread--light, refreshing, and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. And of course, the espresso martini was a must! The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. We loved Talia Kitchen so much that even if we aren't staying at the resort or spending the day at the hot springs, we'd absolutely make the trip back just for dinner. Third visit here and it continues to impress every single time. The food is thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully executed without trying too hard. You can truly taste the farm to table concept in every dish, simple, well curated recipes that let the quality of the ingredients shine. The scallops and grilled prawns were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The cocktails were exceptional as well. I had the matcha martini and my husband ordered the chai brown butter old fashioned, both unique and incredibly well balanced. Service was exceptional from start to finish. Every server we've encountered has been friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely takes pride in serving great food. We also really appreciated the "young adult" menu for our son. He loved the butter pasta with Parmesan and the frozen green grapes were such a fun touch. A restaurant that manages to feel elevated yet warm and approachable. A unique experience to say the least. Seating in doors and outside was a treat. The outside looked like a better option the day we went but we didn't want to be in the heat so we opted to go inside. A little dark inside, but was treated to a nice table lamp to help with the darkness. The food was delicious and visually stunning. The flavor pallet was not what my wife and I normally go for so we caught a bit off by the combinations of the flavors. The bread and the cream cheese dish was so good (sorry I forget the name). STEPH JUDGEMENT: Excellent food and delightful service. I was treating my sister to a bday outing at Murietta Hot Springs and decided to try their on-premise restaurant for dinner. We made reservations, which is recommended. It's a really nice space, with a beautiful patio, but it was way too chilly to dine outdoors when we were there. The inside was all warm white and earth tones--cozy but sophisticated. Since it was my sister's bday, they gave us complimentary glasses of bubbly (south coast winery guertzeminer), as will as a card signed by the staff--a very nice touch. As for the food: - Kale salad (impeccably fresh produce and a delicious dressing) - vegan pasta (a little on the salty side, but still delicious, and they gave me a sizable portion) - half chicken for my sister (looked great, and she enjoyed it) Our server Andy was a total star. Friendly, prompt, and willing to go the extra mile. He found us some cut fruit even though it wasn't on the menu, since that was what we were craving for dessert. Delicious food and wonderful service! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Talia and we really enjoyed our meal. Our server was amazing and he even gave us complimentary wine and a little card from the staff. We shared the focaccia and ricotta appetizer which was amazing! It's definitely a must have. My husband had the scallops which he really enjoyed and I had the shrimp which was very good. The only thing we didn't really enjoy is that we were the ONLY table in the restaurant (at 6:15) yet they chose to sit us in a dark corner by the kitchen entrance. Talia's was... unreal. I'm still thinking about it. We started with the focaccia, which honestly set the tone for the entire meal. Warm, pillowy bread paired with a ricotta cheese dip and parsley oil so good I abandoned all manners and ate it by the spoonful. No regrets. None. Then came the scallops--perfectly cooked, tender, and beautifully balanced with turmeric, broccolini, and mashed potatoes that deserve their own paragraph. These were hands-down the creamiest mashed potatoes I've ever had in my life. Silky, rich, impossibly smooth--like they'd been whipped by a wizard who only works with butter and dreams. Every single element on the plate was cooked exactly right, and the flavors played together like they'd rehearsed. The setting made it even more special. We were tucked back into this perfect little corner, cozy and intimate, where it felt like the rest of the restaurant gently disappeared. But OMG the focaccia sour dough bread is probably the best bread I've ever had I literally want Boxes of it. And the ricotta dip served with it was refreshing and just so yummy. We received a free complimentary non-alcoholic apple cider champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary which was a great pallet cleanser in-between dishes. I do heavily rate based on food quality though, so I'll start with my most favorite dishes of the night... Food: Ronnie's Focaccia & Whipped Fresh Ricotta (4.5/5): Picturesque and Instagram worthy, the ricotta was the dish that brings people back for more. I liked the blend of the sweet tartness of the picked persimmons which tasted almost like plums and dates, with the rich ricotta cream and bread. Green Chickpea Hummus (2/5): Not my favorite hummus fare; I missed the starchy bean quality of most hummus. The pita bread grain overpowered much of the hummus flavor as well. Prime Back Loin Center Cut Local Swordfish (4/5): My favorite main, I felt that the squash cream sauce with the refreshing white fish was a great complement to each other. Mary's Farm Duck Breast, Duck Confit (3.5/5): I love duck but I think having it as a confit was disappointing. I definitely feel that Taiwanese or Cantonese style with the crispy edges brings out the best of the meat, but I still enjoyed it. Frog Hollow Peach Crostada (2.5/5): Given the name, I thought that the peach cobbler's crust would be nice, flakey, and buttery but it was more sad and soggy like day-old danish at your local grocery store. The peaches were more on the tart side, a slight sweetness to go with it would have been nice. Perhaps a blend of white and yellow peaches for next time? Overall, I liked some items definitely more than others. I was somewhat disappointed with the food quality considering this was supposed to be "fine dining" or in the $$$ price category. Walked in about an hour before closing. I planned on sitting at the bar to eat and drink. The bar was full of people waiting for a table. They had tables outside but they were not seating anyone outside. The wait was very long. I ordered the matcha martini but it didn't really agree with me after the first 2 sips, so I asked the bar tender to discard it. She was nice and tossed it for me but didn't remove it from my bill $18 was crazy for a martini. The scallops were divine perfectly cooked and the flavors were phenomenal. The fritters that came with them were not my favorite but thats okay. I would come back here again for the food. You can charge to your room. Great staff. The atmosphere is a casual Mediterranean vibe. The menu is limited. We started with the hummus. It was just ok. Not really hummus, though. My husband had the chicken and I had the salmon. Both were cooked well, but the accompanying puree, sauce and veg was an odd combination of flavors. Not great. We also ordered the squash. It was smothered in cilantro...not a flavor either of us enjoy. It felt as if they were going more for presentation over taste. We also felt the prices were a bit high for the experience. We are staying at the Murietta Hot Springs so we wanted to check out the restaurant on the premises. Made a reservation at Talia's via Open Table in order to earn my points. It was conveniently located near the hotel check in building. The restaurant was nicely decorated. It had an old vibe with the classic terra cotta tile floors but modern touches with the macrame wall decor and the greenery and flowers that they had out. I read about their dress code and it was nice to see that while their official dress code is business casual, they are more open given that lots of guests from the resort will likely dine there also. Our wait staff were great. Andrew was an awesome waiter. Jesus, his assistant, was so friendly and attentive! Andrew was so knowledgeable about the menu and how different dishes were prepared. He also made great drink recommendations. We got the matcha martini and the basil giblets to start. The matcha drink was super creamy!! The gimlet was refreshing! We also got the focaccia and whipped ricotta appetizer. That was YUM! You should absolutely order it. We had the cavetelli pasta and the steak for dinner. The pasta was light on the sauce so it didn't feel too heavy. The steak was perfectly cooked at medium and the flavor profile was excellent! It was cute, cafeteria but upscale style. The busser was great, terrific warm personality. Food was overly salted and too much butter - for $300 we each had an appetizer, meal and two drinks. We left most of our food behind (scallops and ribs). We both felt sick from the salt and butter the next day, my friend's eyes were swollen from the salt and my stomach wrecked. At one point I put a bite of food (beets) in my mouth and it was like eating a straight salt cube. The server was very high anxiety, nice, but clearly stressed. It is also useless to ask folks how their meal is 15 minutes after you drop it off, at that point they have to say fine, especially if it was over 30 minutes until they had water and then they had to wait for the order and food. I am sure chef is good but was just busy and heavy handed with salt or had a su making the sauces or something but I can not recommend this spot at all. We expected to love it but were very disappointed and felt terrible from the heavy handed use of butter and mostly salt. read more

This place was beyond amazing. I wanted to take my wife to a fancy dinner for her birthday, and we've been to Michelin star places where we left hungry and poor and disappointed. This is the level of fancy I've always wanted with those places: you definitely can't make this at home yourself, you don't know what the 20 ingredients are on a super fancy plate, and each bite is mind blowing. 3 of us shared a $240 meal with tip and drinks and were crazy full and happy. The ricotta appetizer: 5/5 must get. Everyone was talking about this at the adjacent spa. Moroccan chicken: 5/5 the other thing everyone was talking about, must get Roasted carrots with smoked blueberries: 5/5 crazy flavor ride Salmon:5/5 a ton of flavor and I'm not a huge fan of salmon Squash: 4/5 it was really tasty and I think it just might be hard to compete with all the other crazy stuff on the table Cons: full disclosure they forgot about us for a long time, I think there was some sort of miscommunication when we switched to the patio. But they were so nice and accommodating about it, even when I think they were closing at that point. I don't go to really fancy restaurants all the time, and they asked which kind of water I wanted "Spring, Sparkling or Purified?" I had no idea what to say and just said "spring" when purified is the free answer lol. I was surprised when they brought out a fancy glass bottle of water and charged $10 for it. We were staying at the Marietta Hot Springs Resort, and didn't want to drive for dinner, so we made a reservation at Talia Kitchen with no expectations. What a delightful surprise! The staff was professional and polite, and our server, Alex, was exceptional. She has a wealth of knowledge not only of the menu, but of the restaurant itself. She shard that local artisans make most of the dishes and flatware, and that the menu reflects what's in season. When we ordered the kale salad, she let us know that it was mostly mixed greens, which was fine, but I really appreciated the heads up. Then there was the food. Everything we ordered was delicious. My husband had the scallops-- they were like butter, perfectly seared!-- and I had the Moroccan-Spiced Mary's Half Chicken.
