This is the best theme park food I've ever had! We went during HHN, so maybe around 10pm, and there was a decent line. We got the mulberry street Italian, little Italy capresse, watermelon, basil, and feta flatbread, the Carnegie, and a chocolate chip cookie. Each sandwhich was served with either potato salad or a fruit cup (your choice). Everything was great, the only letdown was that the cookies weren't warm. This would 100% be my top runner and go to in Universal Studios because the quality goes above and beyond everything else and is the same price if not cheaper than everything else. read more

Very clean with plenty of seating. It was a nice place to take a break after walking all over Universal. Seating was very adequate after coming here twice. I got a Tropical Chia Pudding and a decaf coffee. The Tropical Chia Pudding was pretty good but the fruit was not fresh and frozen. It would have been much better with fresh fruit and especially at the price of $13~. My decaf coffee was very bland and lukewarm. After watching the Bourne Spectacular we decided to eat lunch at the Today Cafe. Upon arriving to the entrance we were greeted and was told it would be about 5-10 minutes for an inside table. Limited seating due to social distancing. They asked us to sanitize our hands with the Sanitation dispenser right outside the door. Masks required until after we ordered and we were sat. I had the Bulls and Bear sandwich with a side of fruit. The Smokey beef brisket tasted great but I felt there wasn't a good portion of meat. I spoke with Maggie the manager and she was so quick to fix it. She told me that it wasn't made to their standards and the vendors that supplied the meat had changed. I told her I had this sandwich previously and it seemed different albeit tasted great. Dessert: tiramisu and lemon tart. So delicious. My party of 5 split three sandwiches. It's a $10 sandwich that is just the sandwich and half a cup of fruit. Drink is an additional $3 no free refills. I asked for a side of dressing to try and they are all lemon based and too earthy tasting for me. I have eaten here 3 times and it just keeps getting better and better. Honestly, ignore the negative reviews. First, its a theme park, its GOING to be a little busy and sure maybe the prices could be a little cheaper but honestly would you rather pay $12 for a sandwich or a pizza? With that being said, this has become our place to come for lunch! As annual pass holders, we come a lot and never had a place for "brunch" that wasn't super fatty. I mean where else can you over overnight oats, an acai bowl, or avocado toast? I've personally had their 30 rock midtowner platter, strawberry cheesecake on a stick and the tiramisu, and wow!!! Delicious. But something that really surprised me was last week was Al's Southern Chicken Biscuit Slider Platter. It's grilled chicken, pimento cheese, golden bbq sauce, crispy onions, pickles, garlic aioli, and lettuce. We did not see this last time, so it must be new, and if its a featured item, keep it Universal! The biscuit was super soft and flaky, chicken with the pimento cheese was perfect together along with the bbq and crispy onions. It was an overall amazing sandwich and paired perfectly. My absolute favorite place at Universal Studios. You can chill with a coffee and a pastry or eat a good sandwich, soup or salad here. It was very cold when we went, in the 30's but super warm and toasty inside the cafe. They are kind and accommodating. We had the Caprese sandwich twice this weekend and apple cheese sandwich. Wanted to try this cafe, because the menu appears to have healthier options like salads with quinoa & gluten free bakery items (scones, etc). I want to thank the staff for surprising me with the strawberry cheesecake on a stick when you saw my birthday button. It made my day feel special & that cheesecake was amazingly good! I actually ate it while waiting waiting for my salad to arrive. It felt deviously fun eating my dessert first. The Chinatown Chicken Salad was packed with flavorful, but unfortunately the skin was left on the chicken & I had several really strange bites before I realized the cold rubbery fatty flavor was the skin that had separated from the cold chicken pieces & were now hidden in my salad. Once I picked the skin out, I did enjoy my salad. I honestly will order something different next time. I am personally ok with skin on chicken if it is served warm & the skin should definitely have been removed from the cold chicken in this salad. Today Cafe should have been called "Yesterday Cafe." Maybe we just hit them up on a bad day, but this was our experience: 1 - Price for a bottle of water was $5.00 each. Come on Universal, I know it is an amusement park, but really? $5.00 for a bottle of water? You can buy a whole CASE for that. 2 - There is a counter that has all the food on display as you go through the line. The salad bowls in the display case were very large. One of us got the Soho salad. When the salad was delivered to the table it was shockingly half, if not less than half the displayed size. Seems like some trickery is afoot....definitely false advertising. 3 - Soup of the day was Minestrone. There was not one piece of pasta in the soup....not one. Hard to call it Minestrone when it was really just vegetable soup. The portion size was very small. 4 - I got a Mulberry Street Italian Sandwich. The insides of the sandwich looked like you took some provolone and some porchetta and rolled it up to about the size of a cigar.....a very meager offering at best. In addition, I do not think the bread could have been harder. I honestly thought I was going to break a tooth. "Crusty baguette" was a little more than "crusty." The absolute best part of the meal was the fruit cup that came on the side. At least the fruit was fresh. 5 - Now here's the worst. This particular day (9 Sept 2021) it was not too hot and the doors were propped open to the entrance of the café. When we sat down we noticed there were some large green "pesto" looking drops on the table (a few a little bigger than a quarter). The tables are white so something like that easily stands out. We assumed it was food left over from the previous patron. We wiped it up not thinking anything more. During the meal we noticed there were a few birds inside the restaurant up in the ceiling/rafters that had flown in due to the doors being open. That wasn't "pesto" we wiped up with a napkin. I immediately brought this to the attention to one of the workers and this is the response I got, "OK, we'll keep an eye on it." Honestly, if we had not have been so hungry, we would have returned the food for a refund....it was that bad. We have season passes to Universal and have eaten just about everywhere. We love Universal, but this was the worst food we have eaten at the park, by a long shot. Congratulations NBC, you got my money once, but never again....at least not at Today Café. Cute tourist trap located right when you walk into the theme park. Our party originally stopped to grab drinks, but once they saw the menu, they opted to grab some breakfast sandwiches and pastries. The environment is friendly and welcoming, with lots of bright colors and large screens. The line was kinda long and moved at a somewhat decent pace. Their pastries looked INCREDIBLE! If I hadn't already eaten, I would've gotten all of them, haha. The cashier was friendly and the prices are pretty fair given we're in a theme park. I was so tired and hungry after exploring Universal Studios. On the way to the exit, I found this store. I like that everything is very simple here; and after standing under the sun for many hours, it was good to sit down and enjoy the AC lol. The staff recommended me this popular salad at the store. Was excited to try Today Cafe. We had skipped breakfast so we could do some of the crazy Universal "let's make this more jarring/spinning than it has to be rides" and we were hungry. We order a Bacon Egg and Cheese Ciabatta and it came out looking freshly prepared. Toasted bread almost too hot (and crusty) to eat, melted cheese. So far, so good. But the processed egg patty (i.e., not freshly prepared) was almost ice cold. Sheesh. Trying to catch the next Monster Makeup Show, so we didnt have time to ask for a replacement. I just wish that there would have been some more strawberries/bananas on my bagel, but Today is one of the only places in the park that offered healthier options at an affordable rate. Not to mention I'm allergic to peanuts so the almond butter was right up my ally and my favorite dish I had in the park all day my brothers both got the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich and they said it was great as well! Orders are placed at the counter which forces you by the incredibly beautiful desserts - wow they looked good - and once ordered you are provided a number. There are servers to bring your food but they aren't involved after that to refill drinks or clear plates. No biggie because it's a quick serve restaurant. We had a turkey sandwich on cranberry nut bread, a pastrami and Swiss, and finally an Italian combo sandwich with assorted cold cuts. Although not Times Square Deli large they were all extremely well prepared and tasty! My wife and I split the Italian and the pastrami. Although the pastrami was good the Italian was better. Unfortunately, I experienced a pretty bad experience over there. After being told to do the line with my kids on the left of the restaurant, where the pastry are located, we wanted to order couple drinks in our menu. We ask previously one of the employe of that was the right Like, she said yes with a large smile. Once we are about to pay, the seller didn't want to charge us the drink cause it isn't in his policy to add the drink. The manager didn't even come, simply told him there isn't anything he can do. After wasting 20 minutes in the line, they ask us to start the line again in the other side, where technically we are allowed to order drinks. We decided to leave. Thank you for taking us this much of time for nothing after we spent over $500 to all got inside and have fun. I ordered the Soho Salad, unsweetened iced tea, and the guava muffin for my lunch yesterday in the park. The salad was tasty, but I found the large cubes of prosciutto difficult to eat. Generally, prosciutto is thin sliced or even shaved because it can be tough if not prepped properly. I am assuming it was prosciutto, actually. Whatever the large meat cubes were, some kind of ham product, they were tough and a little stringy. I ordered ahead if the rest of my party and was seated, but my meal didn't arrive. When I went to the counter to check, the huddle of employees gathered there didn't look for my order. They just assured me that there must be a few tickets ahead of mine. After I sat waiting while my companions ate, a staff member finally checked and advised me that my meal had been given to another customer. They offered me a free pastry and started remaking my meal. The free pastry was a nice touch, but wasn't completely consumed because I had already purchased a pastry to share with the table. At the park today, needed something quick as well as a pick me up. I got the Little Italy Caprese platter and a cold brewed coffee. I ordered the coffee with a pump each of hazelnut and chocolate syrup. Let me tell you, that coffee was so delicious and so smooth! The sandwich was full of bright tomatoes and mild flavored mozzarella on delicious and soft ciabatta. Awesome cafe. We went to Today Cafe because they had some vegan options for my sister. When we got there it was crowed but it was still fast service. I got a crossent even though I don't like them.
