This spot allows for mobile orders and you let a team member know when you arrive. They seat you based on availability and you scan the table number and they bring the food to you. At least that's how it's supposed to work. We waited and saw people cutting lines and empty tables and then took a walk up to the register for someone to come help us. Then they bought us half the order. Completely forgot one order and we waited for 30 mins. It took another complaint before they had to talk to someone in the back to then prepare the missing order and when they bought it out it looked half made. Very disappointed. The Today Cafe is located near the entrance to Universal Studios and is an unassuming little spot with a surprisingly good set of offerings. They have a menu of tasty sandwiches and salads, which means they offer more "real" food than I think I was expecting to find anywhere inside the park! My husband got a brisket sandwich which had nice, crunchy bread, caramelized onions, and slices of beef. He got the potato salad on the side which could have used more salt but had a nice tarragon flavor that made it sound fresh. I ordered their "Asian" chicken salad which was sadly neither very Asian-tasting nor that great (too much arugula, bleh), but at least helped make sure I got a somewhat healthy bite during my recent trip. Expensive, but it's inside a theme park. Incredibly slow - I don't know how they can handle crowds, if they get crowds. Oddly enough, we were there on a very crowded day and it was almost empty. The menu is sandwiches, salads and lots of pastries. We were there at dinner time. Maybe that's why is was so empty. It has a very small seating area, suggesting that they truly are not prepared for crowds. But, the food items we got were quite good. A pastrami sandwich that had a pile of very good pastrami on a very tasty rye bread. The potato salad side was weak - potatoes in a dill mayo - needed more seasoning. But our other selection was avocado toast, which was also quite tasty, although a bit messy. We got it with a fruit salad side, and every piece of fruit was fresh and full of flavor - truly excellent. All in all, it's a lot better choice for food than most other other options in the park, which are mostly junk food or greasy fast food "dinners". read more

We ate at 8 restaurants while at Universal this week and all of them were great service and staff. I bought $68 worth of sandwiches and could not get a to go bag. I pushed the cashier for a bag for my sons croissant and she managed to find one - very reluctantly. Another customer bought 2 coffees and a pastry and I had to show her where to go and get a bag because they brought her order out to her as if she should carry 2 drinks and a muffin on a plate herself. I was just recently diagnosed with celiac disease and I had to do a mobile order. They were quick to come over and ask about my food allergy because they have a option to select it in the app. As soon as I told them no bread she immediately asked if I wanted a gluten free bun! They also let you know that it'll take a bit longer because they switch out all of the equipment and gloves so there's no cross contamination! I was happily surprised! I could eat at this restaurant every time I come to Universal! The Roast Beef Po Boy is so good I can't imagine trying anything else. The desserts look so delicious, it's impossible to pass on them while ordering. Be sure to choose the fruit instead of their potato salad as it has an unusual taste and texture. My daughters love their chocolate chip muffins. My husband enjoys their Carnegie sandwich. We had the key lime tart, which had a raspberry purée in the base making it different than anything we've ever had before. I consider my family to be a bit picky, but Today caters to everyone. Horrible May 23rd 2019 I came here wanting a kale salad. My son and I were reading the menu and one of the workers I think a he may have been a manager ( he reminded me of pit bull the singer ) who by the way was very rude to us. First of all we were reading the menu on the wall and he tells us the line is this way and to get in line. Hello we knew were the line started and ended. I felt like he treated us different because we were of a certain race. Once we got in line he did not say hello or welcome. But he said it to the people behind us who were of a different race. When we got to the register he greeted us but he was still rude. I asked for a salad and he said ". Lunch is Not being served until 11:30. I said okay and thanks and he said nothing. Not please come back a little later nothing and he did not apologize nothing he was rude and I will NEVER go back there again. I'm originally from New York so I expect people there to be rude not Orlando. You lost a customer and by the way my money is green just like everyone else's. SMH read more
