I came for the standard "Okay, kiddo. Let's give this a try" experience, but I ended up staying for the absolute masterclass in human development. This dojo is the ultimate safe, judgment-free zone where my son is allowed to grow at his own pace. What blows me away is how they exemplfy a bit of Mr. Miyagi when it comes to integrity, discipline, and respect. On the days my kid walks in having a total meltdown, the instructors don't force him to just push through it with robot stoicism--they meet him exactly where he's at, respect his mood, and gently guide him back into the game. The staff cheers these kids on with the kind of pure, unadulterated enthusiasm you usually only see from lottery winners. A massive, glowing shoutout needs to go to Stephanie, who is a absolute powerhouse of patience and deserves a medal, a raise, and possibly a vacation on a private island for the magic she pulls off daily. Even the attending parents break the mold here. You will find that everyone genuinely supports one another. If you want a place that builds a better version of me - lol - this is it. All joking aside, my son's wish to return time after time is probably the best compliment I can give of this place. We love our dojo! My son has been a student here for almost 5 years. He has some of the best teachers and coaches. With Karate he is learning self-discipline, Traditional Japanese Karate, he is confident, and we have made many close friends at the dojo. I dont participate in this Dojo, but I did buy a Gi from them and this is what the review is about. Other than their martial arts class, Sensei Marcus sells top of the line Tokon Gis. Im from vallejo and I like to try my Gis before I buy them, and since this Dojo was only an hour away, I decided to visit, try on a gi, and purchase one. My goal was to find the lightest and most durable gi that would last me years. I was recommended the Tokon Sovereign Gi, with a retail price of $200 total. It is one of the most expensive gis, but when I tried it on and started using the gi, it was well worth it. But anyways, Sensei Christina was very helpful and while I was visiting the Dojo, I was very impressed with their class. If I lived in the area, I would have loved to train there. read more

This was truly a great find for my 13 year old son. Sensei Marcus and Sensei Christina teach with passion, discipline, and kindness.
