I can really tell that the owner cares about the shop. It's very tidy, has a wide selection, and has a nice welcoming atmosphere. One thing I liked in particular was the amount of larger fish. Other aquarium stores focus on micro fish like Pygmy rasboras or rice fish, but Tokyo Aquarium has some healthy large sized fish(Oscar's, koi, etc.) So if you're into larger tanks and ponds, this is a great place to visit. I also like their plant variety! These days planted aquariums are the trend, so it's nice to see that the shop is putting emphasis on plants and plant related equipment. Thank you.

After years of driving passing this place by, I finally decided to park in the back to visit this fish store today. It's very unassuming from the outside but they have everything inside from tanks to supplies to actual fish! The fish look well taken care of, spaced well and there's a wide variety.

I am a Discus fish lover. I have currently 2 75 gallon aquarium tank with only Discus fish. In the Los Angeles area there's 3 aquarium shops i go to that has beautiful Discus. A few days ago I went to Tokyo Aquarium in hopes I will find a Discus colors and strains i currently do not have. Let me tell you i found a red strain that was so red that I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Also the shape of the discus was so round , its size and health was something I have not seen in any shops. But this criteria was present in a tank of 20 or more discus they have. The shop is owned and run by a gorgeous Korean lady and her son. If you want beautiful healthy fishes. Go to Tokyo Aquarium!

Friend took me to Tokyo Aquarium to check out the store... Very friendly staff and came to greet us right away... Had some issues with buying fishes at other stores so I asked some questions to see if maybe he can pinpoint or see something I was doing wrong. He was patient and answered all my questions for me. Saw a fish I liked at a great price and so decided to do maintenance / check parameters before the purchase... Went back a couple of days later after checking my water parameters and doing maintenance on the tank and picked up some new family members. Got home and was acclimating my fish with a slow drip and when time came to introduce them to my tank; 1 member had passed... Couldn't believe it. Called the store right away and without hesitation told me to bring it back when I could and he would take care of it. Had the day off so I had a chance to go there and he took care of the matter right away. Even caught a few of the fish I had bought so I can choose... Great customer service!!! All the new members are doing fantastic!!! Will be back for sure. Great experience at Tokyo Aquarium!!!

My beloved fish tank was probably suffering when I realized my Fluval power filter wasn't working properly, and after trying what I usually try when it gets glitchy, I freaked and realized I was going to have to first FIND, and then hire a professional to help me. I reached out here on Yelp to the top-rated Aquatech and spoke to an angel sent from heaven! Chiao called me immediately and kindly and patiently walked me thru troubleshooting steps and told me exactly what to do when the Fluval power filter wouldn't work. This took probably 15 minutes of her time and she did it gratis!! Then when I started shopping for the power filter online, I found that the power filter that I have is no longer available and asked Chiao for more help. She answered my questions about that as well! I am not only SO RELIEVED that my fish will make it until a new power filter arrives via Doordash today, but am THRILLED to have Aquatech in my contacts for future emergencies, etc., going forward. Today turned into a GREAT day because of Chiao. THANK YOU!!!

Rafael came to our rescue and within days from our free, in person, consult was able to come in and take care of our fountain. It looks nearly new and it's at least a decade old! We were even having trouble finding someone to respond to our messages! We were having a baby shower at our house in 2 wks, and our pond was in very sorry shape. Overgrown plants, algae, and muck. It was an eyesore I'm embarrassed to say. We finally reached one company, but they couldn't meet our time frame. They were nice enough to suggest we call Rafael at Aquatic Coast, and I'm so glad they did! Rafael was quick to respond to our voicemail, and made it over the next day to what I believed, was to give us an estimate. He had given an approximate estimate over the phone, which was very reasonable. To my surprise, when he got there he was ready to work! It turned out to be a major a job with many more hours involved than he had told us. He did such a fantastic job, was so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He didn't quit until the job was finished. The pond & waterfall looked like it did when we first put it in 8 years ago. When it came time to pay him, he was insistent that I paid the original quote. Such integrity is unheard of these days. I was so impressed with his work that I wrote the check with a 50% tip added! Rafael has now become our regular monthly pond man, at a very fair price. He is punctual and reliable, and continues to do a wonderful job each month. He is also quite knowledgeable about the equipment, fish, plants, and mechanics of creating a beautiful water feature. I plan on implementing some of his suggestions, in the coming months, to bring my pond up to modern standards. Don't hesitate- call Rafael and utilize his 20 yrs of experience. You'll be like me happy like me!

In response to the owner's comment:…read more I was not "repeatedly assured throughout the day" that I would be helped. Witnesses can attest to the exact opposite. I spent over FIVE HOURS at this event after driving well over an hour to get there. During that time, I purchased livestock, participated in auctions and flash sales, and repeatedly attempted to obtain assistance so I could finalize my purchases and leave. At one point my friend asked whether anyone had helped me yet, and I responded, "No, I cannot get anyone's attention." At that moment, a woman later identified as the owner's niece approached me aggressively and stated that if I wanted help, I needed to be "more aggressive." Moments later, despite the fact that I had not moved from my original location, she accused me of "getting in her face." Rather than assisting a customer who had already been ignored for hours, she instead escalated the situation before returning to socialize with friends. The owner repeatedly emphasizes that my coral purchases were refunded, as though that resolves the issue. It does not. The obvious reason I bid on auction corals and flash sale items was because I intended to take them home that day. Returning another day at the store's convenience to retrieve already paid merchandise was not a reasonable option after driving such a long distance to attend this heavily advertised event. I also find it interesting that several of the pieces I won at excellent prices are now being re-listed on the store's site for dramatically higher amounts. I am clearly not the only customer who has experienced issues involving auction items allegedly becoming unavailable once sold too cheaply. At no point did I become aggressive or abusive toward staff. However, after more than five hours of being systematically ignored while watching others receive immediate assistance, I was understandably frustrated. There was allegedly a pickup list, yet multiple men walked directly to the counter and were assisted immediately despite not waiting. One customer was told to "put his name on the list," only to then receive immediate assistance anyway. Meanwhile, I remained standing there waiting. Most importantly, I spent OVER AN HOUR standing directly at the pickup counter waiting for over $1,000 in already paid coral to be packaged while being almost entirely ignored by staff. The only employee who consistently acknowledged me during that hour was the owner's niece, whose involvement consisted primarily of confrontation rather than assistance. Eventually, after I stated that I had already been waiting over an hour at the counter, I was told I would be "next." I then remained ignored for approximately another thirty minutes before the owner's niece returned, ordered me out of the store, and summoned security. The owner's claim that staff repeatedly tried to assist me while I simply stood there "making a scene" is directly contradicted by his own employees' conduct afterward. Approximately an hour after I left, the same saleswoman who had earlier bypassed me to assist another customer reportedly returned and asked my friend where I had gone and why I had left. If staff had truly been repeatedly assisting me throughout the day, they obviously would not later be confused about why I was gone. What followed afterward was entirely unacceptable. These security guards were not law enforcement officers, yet they belittled and insulted me personally, calling me fat, old, and ugly, while simultaneously making repeated threats regarding unlawful detention and handcuffing. Threatening physical restraint without lawful basis carries serious civil and potential legal implications. Importantly, there were numerous witnesses to these events. Portions of these interactions were recorded, and relevant footage almost certainly exists on the store's own surveillance system. Accordingly, the owner's claim that there is "no proof" is false. Shopping is supposed to be enjoyable, not humiliating. In my case, I had just said goodbye to my beloved dog Kublai and was already emotionally devastated before arriving at this event. To then spend five hours being ignored, insulted, humiliated, and threatened was inexcusable. Ultimately, this store appears to function less as a business focused on customer experience and more as a platform for the owner's ego. His own statements made clear that he does not care about his customers or whether they leave feeling distressed and depleted after being mistreated. Prospective customers should read the actual reviews carefully before deciding whether to support this business. Sadly, based on those reviews, this does not appear to be an isolated incident.
