My sister was in town and loves hibachi-style food, so I checked on Yelp for reviews before deciding to go here. Short review: if I was with someone who specifically wanted to go here, I wouldn't say no...but I would never initiate another visit here. I had the hibachi chicken and shrimp and my sister had the hibachi chicken. Both of us commented that our dishes had a little too much "char" taste, as if our food was incredibly close to burning instead of cooking. I'm also accustomed to hibachi restaurants including a more generous serving of veggies (and usually a side of carrots), but this was just the mixed meat/veggies over rice. For the sauces, I like that you help yourself and can have as much as you want, but options were a sweeter white sauce and what tasted like cocktail sauce. Cocktail sauce? In a hibachi restaurant?!? There was no ginger sauce, which is my personal favorite with this type of food. The final frustration was charging a quarter for a small plastic cup for water. Now, I realize that a quarter isn't much; but it's not like that cup cost them a lot of money...and I was ordering a full meal, not just a side to get "free" water. It just annoys me when any business starts to "nickle and dime" customers to avoid increasing their prices by a few cents across the board. read more

We took a chance and tried this place on a whim. We were greeted by an employee with a friendly smile. The menu is easy to read. I noticed a near perfect sanitation grade. We split the sesame chicken, and ordered 2 shrimp egg rolls, plus one drink. The total was just under $12. Our wait was not long at all. The dining area is clean and comfortable, with a tv to watch. The price is great. The quality is moderately good. I'd prefer larger pieces of chicken rather than a lot of tiny pieces (but still bite-sized) and more vegetables. The rice is cooked pretty well but maybe a bit oilier than I usually like. The sauces are self-serve, which is good because you can get as much as you want without wasting the extra you don't need. This place is good, quick, and cheap, but I was expecting more from some of the other reviews on here. Not the best hibachi I've had, but can satisfy your cravings. Could have had more chicken and vegetables, but they gave a good amount for the price. Most of the meal was good, but some pieces were a little too done for me. I read really good reviews so I had high hopes, but was a little disappointed. I called in a pickup order. The hibachi chicken had good flavor, but there wasn't much of it. The side of vegetables was overcooked (dark in color) and there also wasn't very much. A ton of rice though. The spicy mustard sauce was great. I'm not naturally a complainer so I feel bad leaving a lukewarm review but considering what I got tonight, I would have preferred what I'm used to getting from Kyoto Fantasy Express. This was our first and LAST time here. After ordering our food at the counter we noticed that a young man had issues with his order - instead of remaking his food they proceeded to question him about it and talking to each other behind the counter about him. After they brought our order to the table I noticed my chicken was covered in sesame seeds - I had requested NO SEEDS ON TOP. I took my food back to the counter to be told that it wasn't many seeds so it would be ok. I said No - I didn't want ANY on top - he then proceeded to tell me that I didn't know what I wanted - so I said I would eat this as I didn't want to wait while my husbands food got cold and that we would not be back. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Literally the ONLY place in Greensboro I ever go for hibachi, nowhere else compares (not even the other Tokyo Grill on W Market, which is mediocre). My boyfriend and I love the Teriyaki Chicken & Shrimp. Full of flavor, always enough food to save for later, and I would swim in the white sauce if I could. The employees now recognize me due to being a regular and they're always very kind, even in the middle of the lunch rush or right before closing at 9pm. For the price and speed it definitely deserves about 3.5 to 4 stars. I had the sesame chicken combo and it was good. I didn't hate it but I necessarily head over heels about it. If you are looking for a quick Asian cuisine fix, this is a nice spot. Overall the flavors were nice and the rice tasted pretty good. It wasn't too salty or too sweet (since some places actually put sugar in their rice for Americans). I think it helps that they keep their menu pretty limited. I have eaten here many times...the food is always consistently good. I notice the portions of the meat and fish in the dishes are less and prices are up, and the bathrooms were unattended to and dirty. Nevertheless I will hope that is was an off day, and try them again. They are not inexpensive, but worth the price if they pick up their game. Foks seem to like the white sauce, but the taste is very American, and not imaginative. It's actually a good taste-killer for kids who have a limited palette. When you want Japanese food and you don't feel like going to arigatos or a big fancy japanese restaurant. This is a good place to go. It's a nice size resturant. If you call in there isn't a wait you can go in and grab your food. Quick and easy. But if you walk in, it will be a wait. The food portion is a decent Size. I have never had Japanese food before I went to Tokyo Grill. I had been shopping and smelled the delicious aromas coming from their way, so, I decided to stop in. I ordered the Chicken and Veggies and Steamed rice and a VEGETABLE Roll (seems how I'm severely allergic to seafood). First things first they are very friendly at Tokyo Grill. When I walked in they welcomed everyone who visited no matter how busy they were. It was standing room only and even with being so packed my food was done within minutes. Tokyo grill is very inexpensive. I brought my meal home. The chicken and veggies with steamed rice was good. I got to the vegetable roll and took a bite and there it was a shrimp!!! Needless to say it was not a vegetable roll. Thankfully , I didn't have a severe reaction but I called to discuss this matter with Tokyo Grill. I explained the situation with the gentleman and all he had to say is oh, our egg rolls have shrimp and our veggie ones don't! Well hello I know that, that's why I asked when I ordered! Then all he said was ok next time order veggie roll, in which I decided it wasn't worth arguing over(even though it said veggie roll on receipt :).
