Well....first time here. Mom just came out the hospital and was looking for something different. So I went in and ordered the mixed vegetables and a side order of teriyaki chicken w/ rice. Everything was delicious and fresh. LEE was awesome. Great attitude. They have indoor seating too. We did get this to go. Quality fresh ingredients. Totally coming back. I am in Lexington on business and decided to stop in for lunch. Greeted by friendly girl at counter. Ordered a California roll and edamame. Frequenting Japanese restraints often I was disappointed. When receiving my food I was told that too much salt was put on my edamame and she tried to "shake it off". It was also very mushy, breaking apart to the point it was hard to eat. She did come back to the table and tell me she felt bad and that she was going to make more. The food should not have been delivered in the first place. California roll was okay but missing cucumber. Tokyo Grill has gotten so lazy! They never cook your food to order anymore, nope now it's spooned out of silver cafeteria trays. So it's never freshly cooked! No matter the time of day. I've gone at lunch, I've gone around 6p, even near closing and every single time my order is scooped up out of cafeteria trays! It's ridiculous! You're supposed to be a fresh, cooked to order hibachi restaurant! Nobody goes to a hibachi restaurant to be served old food stored in cafeteria tins! Really love the one in Columbia, this one not so much. Ordered dinner for pickup, they forgot the sauces for all the items. As I was paying for my order the kids behind the counter girlfriends showed up being very loud and disruptive with a dog. Now normally I don't have an issue with things like this, but the dog was allowed up on the counter where they lay your food, kinda unsanitary. As I arrived home an we began to eat dinner, the sauce thing really aggravated me. What really pissed me off even further was the bone my 6 year old almost inhaled from the chicken.(picture attached). This is the first time I have been seriously agitated with an eatery. I called to voice my displeasure and the kid on the phone asked if I would like to come pick my sauces up. That might be one of the most stupidest questions I have ever been asked. Check your food before you eat it or feed your young children. Hope this place fixes itself. This is why you don't deserve 15 dollars an hour. read more

OMG! This has to be the worst restaurant in Lexington or anywhere for that matter. We were there on a Friday night at 6:30. We wanted to have dinner at Arko's next door but that was packed. Tokyo Grill was almost empty and now I know why. They did not have the salad to go with the combo my husband ordered and did not have the miso soup he ordered in its place (and this was Friday night....the big restaurant night of the week). So the only other soup was onion....he ordered that. Now that was really weird. Why call it onion soup when there were 3 thinly sliced mushrooms and a chicken broth (called onion soup). Our rice was cold cold and I had to pay 25 cents for water. What else can I say? Everything about it was AWFUL!! read more

This place is a no go! I ordered teriyaki chicken and it was bland and not even grilled. It was just chopped and sautéed chicken thighs that had teriyaki sauces added while cooking. The price may have been low but that's only because the quality and taste was inferior. read more

The people who work here are really nice, and actually give good service for a counter restaurant. It's run of the mill counter service hibachi, but it's relatively good for the money. As one poster said, ordering the steak is usually a bad idea, because it's been "jerkying" for who knows how long by the time it gets too your plate. I honestly LOVE the food here. It's fast and absolutely yummy. The white sauce makes me very happy. So why two stars? The styrofoam. Everything, from the bowls to the cups, are made in thick layers of styrofoam. Not only is this horrible for the environment (takes 500 years to degrade), it also contains benzene, a known toxin. So it's a lose-lose situation for the planet and the customer. Please consider an alternative to the styrofoam. I know it's convenient and probably saves the business time and money, but it's very disrespectful to the environment, our future, and the consumers who may not know about the negative aspects of styrofoam. read more

Visiting on a business trip from NC and figured I really wanted sushi.... They literally have 3 sushi rolls to choose from... Might as well not even tag this as a sushi place... Big waste of time if that's what you're wanting. The order took way too long and I don't think I've ever been somewhere they could screw up teriyaki chicken... Seriously I've made it QUICKER at home and it was better. If the order hadn't taken so long I would have sent it back, as did 3 customers after I got my food. If I could give this place no stars I would... Literally the only thing going for them was the cleanliness. Decided not to drive to Myabi Jr because Tokyo Grill is closer. I should have never made that choice. Steak is awful, chicken was over cooked, and the shrimp had a strong taste and now my son and I don't feel well. If there is such a thing as a negative star, this place would get at least 2. I have eaten at Tokyo Grill off Clemson and Forest drive. Clemson road gets more of my business and will continue because I have never had any problems with their service, time limit to get food, or setting . Once I went to the one off Forest drive and my order was messed up. I called the next time before going in to get them to explain to me the difference in their orders-then recently I went in to get an order and got home comfortable only to see it was wrong. I had food item I did not even know what they were. I called and the young lady knew exactly what I had because she had given my order to someone else. She SAID we could come in to get our our replaced but I do not go to Forest drive often so told her I would come another day. I called a few days later and spoke with someone else ( a guy)-I explained the story again and he took my name. With the weather and work I have not been on Forest drive so tonight I called back and they had my name but asked me to go get the receipt to replace the order. I had no problem going to get the receipt but that meant I had to go all the way back home and I was stopping by there on my way home from work. I completely understand needing the receipt but I think it is the principle of things- they did not sound like they believed me or wanted to fill the order they messed up. I would not call three times about something that was not true and the person who took my order knew they had made a mistake and SAID they would fix it and did not say bring the receipt-because I would have kept it in my car. When I get the receipt I am taking it back and do not want any food items from them again because I think customer service is important and when you make a mistake you should fix it. read more

The new location in Red Bank is not up to par with the other Tokyo Grills in the area. I live in this area so I have been there on 3 different occasions, and have yet to be satisfied with the experience. The portion sizes for the entrée are so small at this location! I bought a kids shrimp plate for my daughter and they put 2x the amount of rice on her plate as they did on my adult entrée. When I visit other locations, I usually HAVE LEFTOVERS, but on South Lake I NEVER have any leftovers when I order an adult entrée. If you live in Red Bank, go to the one in downtown Lexington. The food is better there and the portion sizes are better as well. read more
