I came in today for lunch and ordered their lunch special - 2 rolls for 9.95 and this included salad and miso soup. You can also do 3 rolls for 12.95. I ordered the spicy tuna and angel roll. The angel roll has cooked tuna and the roll is fried. I actually thought it would be raw tuna and outside fried. I'm not a fan of cooked tuna but this one was not bad if you prefer cooked sushi rolls! Their crab Rangoon roll is the best! This restaurant has been here for over 20 years! I finally went back again tonight and had a lovely dinner! The avocado boat appetizer is delicious! The pork dumplings and crab Rangoon were also very good! We had the dancing crab and it was beyond delicious! All the sushi was very good! I can't remember what I ordered! All delicious. The fried ice cream was huge and we shared it between 4 people! The place was very clean and the sushi chefs all wearing gloves! Everyone helping out each other. Only one server and she worked extremely hard! Why the 4 stars only......I know they've been there for over 20 years but some attention in the bathroom is needed. It gives a bad vibe when the bathroom is dirty. Wipe the light switches, doors especially around the door knob, the door frame and baseboards too! Came here after being told not to expect too much. Wish we had listened. We ordered a love boat and it was supposed to feed two. It was very small in size but not price. We also ordered edamame as an appetizer and they were soggy. We also ordered chicken teriyaki and it was a good size but chicken pieces had fat pieces which were a bit off putting. Went here for lunch with my daughter. It's located in the shopping center on the corner of 56th and Fowler in Temple Terrace. They have a pretty good lunch special for $8.99. You get a choice of 2 rolls plus soup and salad, or 3 rolls, for $11.99. I chose the 3 roll deal, selecting a volcano roll, eel, and spicy crunchy tuna, and ordered seaweed salad instead of the regular salad. The volcano roll was delicious, and the 'lava' was surprisingly a large and tasty serving. The other two rolls were average, but enjoyable. I could only eat half the rolls after the soup (fairly plain) and seaweed salad, (very good and a generous serving) so I took the rest home. Enjoyable. read more

I normally don't like giving sushi places low ratings. But being an avid sushi connoisseur, and seeing the great ratings for this place (plus the convenience of it being so close to home), I had to give this place a try. And...I was incredibly disappointed. The wait alone was over an hour. Granted they were busy, which is normally a good sign. I ordered online, and after the order I chose the text option so they text you when the order is ready. Cool! Well...after 45 min I decided to call to check in. The phone line was busy, so after 55 min wait mark, I got through. I was told 20 more min because the mussels take 20 min to bake. Wow... After 25 min I had to call again because nobody texted or called to tell me my food was ready. My bf and I head back home super hungry and excited to try. We got 4 rolls, mussels, avocado boat and takoyaki. Here's where the fun begins: Extra charge for the sauces. Thats fine, but we had no napkins, and there was no Wasabi or ginger with our meal. Worst takoyaki I've ever had. Undercooked, super mushy and soggy. Only 3 balls in an order of $4.95 Avocado boat was also sad...very mushy. Tasteless. The mussels were done well. I give those a plus! The 4 sushi rolls....terrible. We REALLY tried to love them. But there was one common theme involving all the food besides being mushy. Everything was BLAND. So bland! The rice isn't seasoned AT ALL. All the rolls tasted the same, no flavor. No kick. Nothing stood out. We got 2 rolls that looked exactly the same minus one or 2 ingredients. They both tasted plain. The avocado boats were really good (could have used a touch of salt, since avocado always can use a little salt). The simple rolls were my favorite (Alaskan roll was awesome). The Chef was great. Very accommodating. I wanted to sit at the bar, with an eye view of the fresh fish. Instead, a very pushy server, put me at the bar in front of their 100 styrofoam "to go" boxes. You go to a Sushi bar to watch the main star (their Chief) not to star at useless take out containers. What an insult to the customer & the Chief. The gentleman was polite when I picked up my food, but I couldn't hear what he said under his mask. (More my hearing issue than him really). The sushi was good and I ordered the three roll special with the Crab Rangoon roll, salmon avocado roll, and tuna roll. Add ins for these rolls were .99 starting and was listed clearly in the online menu which was great! I love transparency and upfront listings for extra charges. This lunch special also included a salad and soup! I haven't eaten those yet, but if they're the same quality they'll be yummy! I forgot to ask for yum yum sauce but thankfully had some at home! Their seaweed salad was a good portion, good for two people. Only drawback was that they charged for sauces like yum yum and spicy mayo (which both tasted like spicy mayo). Hi it's me, Mr. Egg allergic again. Yup this time I stopped in and notified the staff that I was egg allergic. As is usual for most Japanese places, they use mayo in the salad dressing. So I asked for some rice wine vinegar. The server did not want to bring it saying that I would not like it. I asked her to bring it anyway and it was fine! The miso soup came out hot and had an excellent roasted soy flavor. The steak teriyaki.... This has to be the sweetest Teriyaki sauce I've ever had. It's good!
