Tried this place because of a high recommendation from my friend and I was not disappointed! The food was so good, exactly what I was craving for brunch. And the smoothie was delicious! So creamy and tasted fresh. The fruit also tasted freshly cut! No acidic taste from preservatives. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Solid locally owned spot in the Tampa area. They serve up brunch and we happened to be there when that menu was available, but they are usually a Greek cuisine establishment. We were greeted and sat quickly. There were a couple of larger groups and service was a little slow as a result, but it was easy to see why they were backed up both from a service and kitchen sides. We were sat in a booth along the far wall and it was cozy and quaint. They have a fun artsy feel with decorated walls and themed energy throughout. Visited Samaria for the first time today with some out of town friends and loved our experience. This is a casual, no-frills (and VERY REASONABLY PRICED) restaurant located in the heart of downtown Tampa. We partially came to party and almost started paying $8 per mimosa, and then we learned that we could just buy a bottle of Andre champagne and that would satisfy our table's needs...and boy, it did! I had the avocado toast (not pictured) and a traditional breakfast with two fried eggs over hard, two slices of bacon, and hashbrowns that were delightful once I added a little bit of salt. What I really loved about our visit is how many juice options they have for mimosas. We enjoyed passionfruit and mango but there were a ton more options. Our server (whose name I don't have because I didn't pay the bill) was amazing. He was knowledgeable and attentive, what more could you ask for?! Oh, and they have adorable mechanical colored pencils for the kids! I'm a teacher so I appreciate the attention to the kids! Went for brunch with several friends and my partner. I ordered the California Bowl and my partner got the Bagel and Lox. The food was okay - my partner liked her bagel but my bowl was not great. The bacon was not crispy and hard to chew - the home fries were the majority of the bowl and did not feel worth the $14 price point. I was going to order a chai latte, but I requested that it be iced - the waiter said that it was made with powder so adding ice would not be possible. Otherwise, the service was great. I'm actually late on this review as we ate here after the Hot Chocolate Run. Service was good and the food was decent. My avocado toast pretty good with scrambled eggs and bacon. Bacon is meh. Hubbs had the omelet and hashbrowns. He said it was all pretty good also but I'm not sure how he'd know based on the amount of ketchup on the items lol. My big issue is cleanliness. One of the fortunate things that happened in restaurants during covid was all salt and peppers, along with caddys or any bottles were pulled between patrons and cleaned. Now a days, it's hit or miss with places ensuring these items are wiped down. This place was a miss. The bigger impression I got is the place is old and they have not updated anything. It was good and the server checked on me a few times so I would say pretty good service. They give you a carafe of coffee so you can manage your refills. I wanted to love this place. We tried it on a Saturday morning. The coffee was absolutely delicious. Service was very friendly but slow, regarless of the fact that it was early and not busy. My omelette was overcooked, crispy, and my hash browns were undercooked, soggy, very little browning. My toast (one small piece) had a very heavy coat of butter but the bread tasted like something you'd get at Publix in the bread aisle - white or wheat were only choices. The salad was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of iceberg lettuce, but the gyro meat was delicious. My dad said his reuben was solid and my son ate all the fries that was with the sandwich. The service was a little on the slower side, so if you're planning to get back in the office I think it's worth letting them know when you sit down. Went on a Sunday midday and the place inside was packed. We had our baby and our yorkie with us, so we sat outside. Outside tables are on the pavement, so be prepared for walking traffic going by. We were seated outside very quickly, but if you plan to sit inside, there may be quite a wait. They only serve alcohol inside. We order the nova/lox bagel, which was honestly underwhelming. We didn't feel that it came with enough lox. The cream cheese is served on the side. Plain/everything bagels to choose from. The strawberry smoothie was AMAZING. Myself and a few friends stopped in for lunch. We each ordered something different : omelette, Cuban, croissant, standard sausage/egg breakfast. The consensus from the group ranged from loved it to hoping to not get sick later. I can only speak for me but the others in between, they felt the food was just mediocre and probably wouldn't return. I had some concerns with the color of the eggs and meats. The eggs were darker, overcooked outside, coldish inside. The bacon color was off (which I didn't photograph) and was kind of a dull color and super salty, barely smelled of bacon - it was weird. Sausage links I'm 95% sure were undercooked. They had a slight crisp without color on the outside and the texture was just wrong on the inside (wish me luck). The best part of my dish was the grits which didn't look great but were definitely loaded with butter and actually tasted pretty good. Coffee was dark and not the worst. We were looking for a brunch place before a show at the Straz and read many Yelp reviews that recommended this place. I made a reservation on-line, but it wasn't even needed at noon on a Sunday, which surprised me. The atmosphere is a diner, and they do have a few outside seats. They had only given us 2 menus for the 4 of us to share, which was odd and awkward as there are several pages to view. There are a variety of breakfast foods, as well as salads and sandwiches. There is no decaf coffee, and the regular coffee was like sludge. I settled on the Eggs Benedict, which is one of my favorites. We didn't have to wait long for food, and it looked good. Unfortunately they didn't toast the English muffin, so I was eating a dry English muffin under a poached egg and very little hollandaise sauce. The service was fast but I felt like he was hovering over us the whole time. He was standing 8 feet away facing us and kept checking to see if we needed anything. It was too much. I tried out a new (to me) cafe in Downtown Tampa. If you blink, you might miss it so DON'T BLINK! This quaint little eatery has a flamingo speckled and palm tree theme to remind you that you are indeed in Tampa! Samaria Cafe has been there for about 10 years and the current owner, a delightful French woman named Karine, bought the restaurant just before COVID. She has adorned the menu with a few French classics like ratatouille (so yummy and a nice presentation) and crepes. The Crepe Brulee... OK y'all... imagine the custard of an expertly crafted Creme Brulee on top of a crepe, then topped with sugar... Then BRULEED! You get the satisfying crack of that brulee and all the goodness underneath. This one was my fave. It is not the most picturesque but my taste buds did not care! The Crepe NY Style was shaped like a pizza slice and had cheesecake, strawberries, and whipped cream. It did NOT disappoint! We started with the juices, fresh and made in house. The Simple Green is quite vegetal and was almost like a green gazpacho. It was delicious, but didn't have a juice feel to me. The Sunrise was citrusy, bright, and not overly sweet. The Flamingo Juice was the table favorite which was watermelon juice and lime. I could drink that all day, every day! The Mimosa, Chai Latte, and Cafe Mocha were also DELISH! You may even enjoy a little champs with the flamingo juice The Charcuterie is a must have for the table. Brie, goat, swiss, meats, baguette... Lovely! And it is served on little plates from the owner's childhood! VERY nice touch! The California Benedict had PERRRRFECTLY poached eggs, impeccable hollandaise, avo, bacon, side of hash browns (but you get choices). The Omelette was MASSIVE and stuffed and absolutely sharable!
