Ajisai Sushi gets a solid 3.5 stars from me For AYCE sushi in Tampa, it's definitely a decent option with a pretty extensive menu and lots of variety. Some of the rolls were really good and fresh, and it's easy to get your money's worth if you come hungry. The appetizers were also a highlight for me. That said, the experience felt a little inconsistent. A few items took a while to come out, and some rolls were much better than others quality-wise. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but for all-you-can-eat, it scratches the itch. We were a party of 9 and they accompanied us well considering there is so much going on with ordering I stuck to ordering tartars, sushi and sushi rolls. Best AYCE sushi place I have ever had. I love that you order what you want and they bring the food freshly made to your table. You can make minor accommodations to your order. They offer 3-4 pages of items you can order from apps to sashimi, hand rolls, regular and specialty roll, noodles and ramen. All are included in the all you can eat price. There is a 90 minute table limit, but that is an enough time to enjoy. There was something for everyone at our table and we are until we couldn't anymore, all within the 90 minutes. Just be careful that you don't over order because any excess is weighed and a percentage if payment is required to avoid unnecessary waste. When I go back to Tampa, I will be stopping here everytime because it is the best bang for your buck and fun to share plates with friends and/or family. Go hungry, leave happy!!! It's no frills kind of place with great music playing, but also pretty casual clothing. They offer specials on certain days and on some drinks but we opted for water to better enjoy the food. This was our first time visiting AJisai. The atmosphere was so interesting. Loved the screens on the walls projecting peaceful changing backgrounds. We went at 3:00pm on Saturday. So the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. We were informed that all weekends or holidays no matter what time you come in you get the dinner all you can eat pricing. There were so many sushi rolls to choose from. All sushi that we tried was fresh and tasty. The hibachi. Was amazing! The tempura shrimp was so yummy. They have so much to offer on the menu from ramen, teriyaki , lo mein, so many different appetizers to try. The time from when you requested an item and it was delivered was brief. Great service and the food is absolutely amazing if you're a sushi fan! I am the biggest fan of sushi-grade raw fish, and their garlic "white tuna" is a must-try. I have a personal record of 6 orders of the garlic white tuna, or 24 pieces in total. I also loved their spicy girl roll as a spicy sushi fan. Haven't been here in about 3 months. It's always my go to when I have an all day thing at Moffitt. Starved by the end and look forward to the variety of the AYCE that works for my husband and I. We lucked out with the same wonderful waiter that gave us even more personalized service too. My husband had his usual sushi favorites the sashimi, Mt. Fuji rolls, eel rolls, Ajisai rolls, USF rolls all delicious. I had all cooked salmon, steak and shrimp hibachi and teriyaki. I double ordered because you only get a few shrimp or one piece of salmon so you need to be specific when ordering that or just double it like I did. My husband and I share the vegetables so it works for us. The place has a cool vibe you'll probably see lots of USF students working there and also filling the restaurant too. It was a late Tuesday night and the restaurant which is huge was half full at 8 pm with great turnover. We always try to order one new roll and this time it was the snow roll. It was shrimp, avocado, mango and cucumber ( no cream cheese). We were disappointed because the shrimp was mushy, no mango in it and just a gummy taste. Wound up telling our waiter and he wanted to get us a new one but we just felt we didn't want to give it another try. Everything else that night was delicious and tasted fresh. For dessert we only got chocolate ice cream which was really good. Sometimes I get the sesame balls for dessert too if you're wanting a suggestion to add to ice cream on the AYCE menu. All in all I was starved from almost 24hrs of fasting so the restaurant did not disappoint!!! It's not far from the hospital and makes a good stop before the long drive home too. read more

The sushi here is very creative and unique! I do think the lunch portions lack fish and shrimp. I noticed that the menu has a lot of veggie and fruit additions, but the rolls don't necessarily have a lot of seafood. The service was spotty, but it wasn't necessarily a problem. I do enjoy the decor in this restaurant, and I still think that it is one of the best places to go if you want sushi on a budget! read more

Under AYCE are appetizers like crab Rangoon and seaweed salad along with many sushi rolls, hibachi AND RAMEN! Just make sure you only get what you truly can eat or you'll be charged extra. First experience for me in an all you can eat sushi restaurant. The speed of service is definitely there. No complaints about that at all! The food is phenomenal and well worth every penny and I loved the appetizers. All the food (except sushi rolls) comes in a tapas portion so it's not terrible and you can easily finish it. Strongly recommend not ordering more than you can consume because you do get charged for leaving tons of leftovers. Ajisai was a pleasant surprise. Went here for the first time with my family who are sushi snobs and they couldn't stop talking about it. Fast service, unlimited roe, fresh and fast rolls. Large variety on the AYCE menu. Prices about standard I think it's $30 or so for dinner and less for AYCE lunch. On top of the rolls, you can get RAMEN!!! Included in AYCE. And it's GOOD. The bowl is medium to small sized and after stuffing myself I was able to eat most of it. Mainly because it was soo good. The servers put in your order at the table so it comes asap versus waiting for them to return to POS station (love this new system). Our service was good and waitress was nice. The dinner menu has more sushi options & more options with raw salmon and more expensive slices of fish. They do offer the dinner menu even at lunch hours if you prefer !!! That being said, I opt for the lunch menu as I love the sushi offered. The food always comes out promptly, the servers are always kind and willing to put in more orders. Tastes fresh & always well made. Well proportioned and you're not getting excessive amounts of rice. This should be your go to endless sushi spot in Tampa! The lunch menu is $21 and the dinner is $30 but you can opt for the dinner menu at lunch for more choices. Compared to other sushi places this is a great price for the options. I did the lunch all you can eat and it was great. There are about 70 items to choose from including appetizers, salad, hibachi, sushi and ice cream. The appetizers I had (sesame balls, crab Rangoon) were brought out fresh and piping hot. The sushi had plenty of choices including fried, basic choices and fresh uncooked fish sushi. Top it off with some green tea ice cream at the end and you will be fulfilled! The tonkotsu ramen isn't tonkotsu ramen. I think it has cumin (extremely wild guess)? I don't know what the oily yellow unnatural tasting surface film is in that soup but it tasted so wrong. I've had instant noodles that tasted better. In fact, as a student I could've saved myself the trip to a higher end restaurant and eaten at WildBlue in front of Chikfila at the MSC (University of South Florida) and their tonkotsu ramen is not only cheaper, but far better. Additionally, I can name many other restaurants in that price range with phenomenal food nearby and worldwide. The literal Michelin starred Kowadari ramen in Paris is that expensive. Who do they think they are? I understand this place is more so about the all you can eat sushi so I tried that too. the rice was old and the sushi was impossible to swallow, even with small bites. For that price range I'd expect actually good sushi. I could talk more about the bad sushi but honestly what's really offensive is the ramen. The sushi is mediocre and old but at least it was sushi. Additionally after feeling sick from the ramen I went to pay and the lady told me that they in fact don't take the 10% off coupon anymore from 9Yaps. The coupons right there, I screenshotted it. I was trying my hardest not to look upset at the checkout I just wanted to get out of there. The experience made me download yelp that's how bad it was. The ramen cost me 18 dollars when WildBlue is closer and has ramen for 13 dollars. USF Publix has better overpriced instant noodles for 2 dollars and I can get a pack at Walmart for 6. Do you guys want bubble tea? Go to Moge tea across the street. Genuinely so many better options. The only reason to go here is the expensive "all you can eat" buffet. This place is amazing. They have an all you can eat option for lunch and dinner. Significant price difference also. But more options on the dinner menu than the lunch menu. They let you adjust as needed. Only one roll I couldn't eat because I didn't know there was tempura on the roll, as the description only said crunchy and not tempura, but they were able to fix it. The sushi was definitely good. However, when I tried the boba, the brown sugar boba didn't taste great and was gummy. So I probably won't get the boba again. We had a incredible time. The restaurant is spacious & clean, with booths and open table seating. The establishment is lively (music playing in the background) and really well run. I will say, it's rare that you see servers all working together, it makes service so seamless and smoothly run. Nick was our server, he did and excellent job. When he was busy, other servers would quietly pour water or remove dishes, it was really an amazing level of support to see between staff. For the lunch AYCE they divided in 7 area. 1 soup and salad; 2 appetizers; 3 sushi; 4 roll or hand roll; 5 chef specials roll; 6 kitchen entree; 7 Dessert. For the soup I recommend the Tom Yum soup. It has shrimp, mushrooms, broccoli, onion. Great soup. We also got squid salad that is better than Kani salad. I like their spicy tuna roll. I also like the chef special roll of yummy roll and the dragon roll. Don't forget the appetizer of shiumai, gyoza, and pepper tuna. For the kitchen entry, definitely to get the shrimp teriyaki.
