Very pleased with this place. Food was delicious and fish was very fresh. Sushi rolls were well made with flavors I haven't gotten anywhere else. The customer service was a little off with the takeout server being impatient and not helpful, but it could've been an off day. I'll check it out again to see if this is the norm.

This is the Papaya Salad and beautiful vegan Shushi creation.

I recently had an unforgettable dining experience with a delicious papaya salad and freshly made vegan sushi, leaving me craving more. I will be back sometime in the near future. For dessert, I indulged in delightful Asian donuts that were simply irresistible. The waitress was incredibly friendly and engaging, sharing her captivating life story that added a personal touch to my visit. The owner, a talented Japanese chef who also speaks Hindi, impressed me last year by spontaneously conversing with me in Hindi, showing that the restaurant celebrates diverse skills. His dedication to providing the best quality food is evident, making each meal special. The atmosphere is charming, with just the right amount of light and soft music, creating a perfect setting for a delightful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Piper, our server was fun, informative, and fabulous! Ask her about Tora, It's the belly section of tuna and is awesome.

Piper, our server was fun, informative, and fabulous! Ask her about Tora, It's the belly section of tuna and this Bistro's version is complete with caviar on top.

This is hands-down my favorite sushi restaurant. Food is great, fish is fresh, and they have a large variety to choose from. Also a nice atmosphere, I bring my friends and family in often and everyone always leaves satisfied.

I came here one day on a whim, but since my first visit ive been a regular here at least once a week. The prices are very reasonable and they use really high quality products. The ambiance inside is really calm and its a great place to go with friends or study by yourself. I always get the sushi lunch box off their lunch menu and the sushi and sashimi dinner off the dinner menu and it's always amazing!!! Also make sure to get the ginger tea! It's really good and the owner makes it from scratch!

As a sushi consumer for more than 40 years I seldom hesitate to try a place that is new to me. Quite often I walk out once I see the selection in the counter box. If what I see pleases me or I notice something special, I will stay. What attracted me was a chalkboard that listed Sweet Shrimp and a couple types of fish belly. I also noticed a specialty roll that I found very intriguing. When they told me the shrimp included the head, I was hooked. Their Toro was just ok. $15 for a couple small slices, not something I would order again. The Salmon Belly I liked much better, silky smooth with generous cuts. The star was the Sweet Shrimp. A succulent and tasty treasure that almost melted in my mouth. The crunchy head battered and cooked to perfection. As is customary, I tried the Tempura Shrimp and liked it as well. A very light batter, just a tad oily, that lets you experience the shrimp flavor. A different version that I found appealing. I did not try the roll I wanted because I was full. A complimentary Miso Soup and Spring Roll were a nice touch. The service was very good, they were patient, helpful, attentive and friendly throughout. I will be coming back. Come get you some.

This local restaurant in the small shopping plaza in North Tampa is a delight! The sushi chef has the freshest fish locally. The waiter and the owner always come over and check on us. The food is delicious. It's priced right friendly atmosphere. It can be very quiet during the week, which is fabulous if you want an intimate dinner. All the food is fresh fresh fresh! Did notice a few items for sale behind the counter in the back from Nepal handstitched.

    Sashimi. Very good & fresh

The sashimi & sushi rolls were very good. Fresh & tasty! The only one I didn't like was the uni (I normally like it but the flavor & texture were a little off putting). The service was friendly but a little awkward. Either way, it was a nice dinner.

It's so hard to find good sushi in Tampa Bay and this place exceeded my expectations! I drove all…read morethe way from downtown St Pete on a IG recommendation (that's how little good options you have in this area unfortunately) and I was not disappointed. The staff and owner were very friendly and personable and the food was even better! I ordered the gyoza (this is fried and the filling is an in-house recipe pork filling, might be different from your regular gyoza but still yummy and worth trying), and had the Nigiri Flight which was amazing! I'll let the picture speak for itself, but you need to come in and try it for yourself. The fish was fresh and each one was better than the other. I even loved the tamago (which they prepare in house) and I normally am not a fan of it. All the nigiri were well sized and super filling, I could have done without the dumplings and the salad, and still would have been more than satisfied. The place is also very well decorated and styled, I truly think they hit all the points with food, service, and ambience. You can tell the owner puts his heart and soul into this place and it shows in the food and your time there. It was a very pleasant experience and I am so happy to have found Isekai!

Fantastic lunch here on a recent visit to Tampa for business…read more As a Los Angeles resident who has spent 1/2 my time in Hawaii for work, I am an acclaimed sushi snob. I was excited by the great reviews on Yelp -- and was so happy that this place lived up to the hype! The fish was excellent -- fresh, well cut, super tasty. The toro was rich and delicious, the salmon and snapper fresh and pure, and as noted by others, the seasoned sushi rice with the accoutrements in the bowl (seaweed salad, thinly sliced pickled radish and carrot, and masago) made for an elevated lunch. I really appreciated the flexibility and options around my celiac disease (sushi can be tough because of the wheat in most soy sauce) -- including the kind note they attached saying the subbed some extra toro and masago for the Iburi which had been marinated in soy sauce. Lastly, I usually much prefer to eat-in for sushi (a sushi bar is my 2nd home), but really appreciate the details they put into the Uber Eats takeout package -- dressed it nice with shiso leaf and shaved radish AND have it all placed on little ice packs to keep the fish cold on their commute from the Chef's Knife to my belly. Great experience overall.

If you're looking for the American hibachi experience, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is the way to go. I…read morewill jump around a bit with this review as I am returning to writing, but hope that it makes sense as you read it. The restaurant is located conveniently within the Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area in northern Tampa. The parking spaces in the front does get crowded and full rather quick, however there are plenty of spaces in the back that isn't too far of a walk. The entrance/main door is actually off to the side under the hard structure roofing - you walk through a small section of the outdoor seating patio to get to it. It must be noted that this review and experience is based on the following factors: - The review is written strictly for the American hibachi experience. The restaurant does offer other a la carte options if you don't want the "showmanship" and flair with your dining experience. - A reservation was made through Open Table. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. This was purposeful and intentional due to the occasion, and I wanted to make sure we were locked in. I feel that this also made for a smoother seating process as the restaurant had to prepare the table and chef. All in all from arrival to getting seated, we waited no more than 10 minutes after our entire party was present. - There were 12 individuals in our party which also accounted for the prompt seating (I believe you are paired and tetris'd with other guests for smaller parties). 12 is the max that a table can host - anything more will require multiple tables. I want to emphasize at this point how Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is suited for large parties. Most, if not all, the individuals in our party have not had American hibachi for as long as we can remember. We also had children in our party. Taking this all into account, it turned out to be the perfect venue for any type celebratory events (business outings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.) I could not recommend this place enough if you want an "easy winner" to delight the group. Now let's talk about the food and the chef. The quality and taste definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was cooked perfectly and the meats were extremely tender and flavorful. While not the most animated of the chefs there, our particular chef was very attentive to our needs. He ensured that our meal was enjoyable and delicious. Pricing-wise, you're looking at an average cost of $30 to $40 per individual. Overall service was not bad - the most important part was that everyone was welcoming and friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend Kobe Japanese Steakhouse if you are the one planning for a large group!

I really don't get the hype around Kobé Japanese Steakhouse. To me, it feels like a poor knockoff…read moreof the king of Japanese hibachi, Benihana. The biggest issue was the food. They use an exorbitant amount of butter, salt, and sauce...to the point where it overwhelms everything. Better make an appointment with your cardiologist after this meal! I will give credit where it's due: Ty, our chef, was great. He kept the table entertained and laughing with his jokes, and he was easily the highlight of the experience. I know Kobé has a very loyal following, and clearly plenty of people love it, but it's just not for me. I'll be skipping this place in the future and sticking with Benihana when I want hibachi.

I cannot tolerate spice, and a lot of Japanese places that I have previously gone to put so much heat on it that I find it unpleasant. Although the seasoning was good, the portions weren't. The first one that I grabbed was just a bone surrounded by fat. There was not a piece of it that I could chew and swallow. Then the server kept coming by the area every ten seconds to check on everything but when I asked for yum yum sauce, he never came with it. I honestly think he dropped it off to the wrong table. And the Mexican roll that I ordered didn't taste fresh. Both rolls I ordered seemed so bland. Other places I have been to have tasted more flavorful. Don't think I would return.
