If I could give zero stars, I would. This used to be one of my boyfriend's and my favorite teriyaki restaurants, but after tonight's experience, we will not be returning. During our visit, our order was incorrect, and when my boyfriend tried to clarify the issue, the man behind the counter--who claimed to be the owner--responded in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. He called my boyfriend insulting names, including "stupid" and "retard," instead of simply addressing the mistake. We had ordered two chicken teriyakis and a side of fried rice but were given two chicken teriyakis with fried rice. When we showed the receipt to confirm what we paid for, he continued to argue rather than resolve the issue appropriately. This experience was unacceptable on every level--from the disrespectful behavior to the poor handling of the situation. The pricing was also inconsistent with what was advertised. Worst service ever! My 16 yr old tried to surprise me by picking up dinner, called and placed the order at 7:38pm ended up at wrong location and as she was walking into the location a man called to tell her food was ready (7:50pm) we thanked him and said she was walking in the door right now. Turned out she was at the wrong teriyaki place so she called back to find address to come get the food she ordered and the man who answered the phone yelled at her, cussed at her and hung up. After a little searching we found she was 2 blocks away from this restaurant and could have been there to pick up the food by 8pm when they closed. Instead the owner told her repeatedly to "F$#* You" and hung up. He was mad because it was 5 min before closing. Had he quit yelling long enough to answer the question it turns out she was 2 blocks away and could have easily been there, paid for the food and no issue. Instead he berated her, was rude and lost out on us being able to get the order. If he didn't want the business close to closing time he should have just said that when she called. We have eaten here a few times and it has always been delicious! Tonight was exceptional! Customer service was great, very friendly. We were greeted when we walked inside .Our take out order was promptly taken and we waited inside the clean dining area. Food was brought to us, well packaged..it smelled so good we couldn't wait to get home! I got the Teriyaki chicken, he got the Kung Pao chicken and we both got an egg roll. The egg rolls are awesome! Love! I loved my teriyaki chicken, the sauce is amazing and I love the little simple salad that comes with it..dressing is bomb. He enjoyed his Kung Pao, I tried some and it was very good, not greasy or too spicy. Portions are generous ,we both have leftovers for tomorrow! I ordered the spicy chicken and my wife got the bento lunch. She got rice a roll chicken and gyoza with a salad on the side. No prices but it was just over fifteen both dishes came to be 35 with tax. My chicken was not very spicy but had lots of flavor. My wife had a grab bag of goods and was very happy with her meal. She had to come back to it later and finished it for dinner. Went to pay for carry out. Had issues with CC machine. Went to guy at the counter to discuss. He tossed the receipt at me, spoke rudely/belittling stating "don't know how to use a machine? No one else has a problem with it but you". I told him to cancel my order, that you don't treat customers that way. I began to leave when he ran ahead of me and blocked the doorway. I asked him several times to let me leave. He, with his body and arms bracing the doorway, would not allow me to leave. I tried pushing the door open past him and finally pushed him out of my way so I could leave. He yelled "F... you!" as I left. I immediately called Everett PD and reported it. Some observations about Tokyo Teriyaki: FREE GYOZA! - For all the visits made so far, the staff will always offer a free sample of their gyoza. Fresh, hot, and tasty, this place makes pretty good gyozas and I highly recommend eating this if you want a small appetizer. Service - Average service, wait time is minimal. So for those who are in a rush, getting your food here shouldn't present too much of a problem. Price - Average prices, nothing too different Food - Ordered: Beef teriyaki, pork teriyaki, katsu, yakisoba...and etc. Overall, the food is pretty average. Marinated meats = a bit too sweet for me and the other dishes were ok tasting. Portions are reasonable size. With so many food options around, it would be tough to go back to here. read more

This was my go-to teriyaki place before my company relocated closer to Mukilteo. There are lots of teriyaki choices, as well as Chinese and Japanese entrees. I usually go with the #7, which is teriyaki chicken and gyoza served over rice with a side salad. I like that the chicken is not fatty (seems to be all white meat, or very well-cooked dark meat). The gyoza is pretty decent for a multi-Asian joint. You get a free one on entry! You should order ahead and pick up. Lunchtime is a nightmare, and if you place orders to-go inside, you may be waiting for a long time. read more
