I am happy to leave this review, and this is why. I order from here quite often during the year, and so does some of my family. Yesterday I ordered Spareribs and on a spur of the moment I added S&S Chicken. I never order. I never order Sweet and Sour anything as the coating is "always" hard as a rock and the meat inside is very dry. But to my surprise and excitement, "Yumikos" S&S was amazing. Coating soft, chicken inside moist and not dry. I was so surprised and thrilled as I totally expected to be disappointed, asking myself why did I order that?. I should have had more faith in Yumiko's food as I have never had bad food from there. Thank You Yumiko Teriyaki for totally making my meal a great experience. I loved both my meals. read more

Ordered from this location and I think it's under new ownership. I liked the beef and broccoli but the chicken katsu was dry and over cooked. We had to wait 20 min for our order and we were the only one waiting. No signs on the outside about wait times. read more

This place definitely improved when a new owner stepped in a couple years ago. He's always so nice and friendly, whereas the previous man was always so grumpy. My go to is their chicken katsu. I think it's made with mochiko flour because it tastes a little sweet, which I prefer. Their portions have also improved since my last review. New picture included of their katsu from yesterday. I also like their gyoza and yakisoba. Their drive through option is also super convenient! I usually call ahead or order online (through uber eats or door dash) and pick up through the drive through. Their inside dining area is small but at least there's a place to sit down if you needed one. read more

Got the chicken Katsu, 10 piece gyoza, and the beef yakisoba and it was all 10/10. The drive through is such a cool feature of this lake stevens staple that's been around for YEARS! But I suggest calling ahead as they make it to order and it takes like 20 min to make and it's fresh!! So yummy! The katsu is wonderful and crispy, some of the best in the area. Gyoza are always hott and crispy as well. Can't go wrong there. And the yakisoba portions are insane. The amount of food they give you overall is great for the price. I've never been disappointed in the quality of the food nor the service. The meals also come with a side salad and the salad dressing is some secret recipe that's so good! Some Mayo base! Extremely rude man this isn't the first time he was rude to me. First time he was being aggressive to me when I didn't know the sizes and he proceeded tell me in a aggressive tone that it's the same box but more food in it I thought a small would be in a little Togo box and then he proceeded to roll his eyes at me when I said small then started giving me attitude when I was paying. A month later I was to get some fried rice because the food was good but the service wasn't again same man came to the drive thru this time and recognized me and I recognized him and then he starts to give me attitude again made me wait 18mins when I had a 30 min break and I was simply asking him Nicely (because I wasn't in a crazy hurry and would of waited for the food) how long it would take for some fried rice and he said 30 mins with a hurry tone then I said thank you I wouldn't be able to wait 30 mins then he slammed the drive thru window in my face without asking me if I wanted anything else. How have I been living in Sno County for 10 years and didn't know about a place that serves drive-through teriyaki? This tiny place is a pandemic lifesaver. No more do I need to settle for unhealthy chain-joint fast food when I've been working from home all day, haven't had time for a shower, but want a satisfying dinner that includes veggies handed to me through a car window, in whatever unkempt state I'm in. The food is simple, generously portioned, and mildly seasoned. Not too salty. No one abuses fistfuls of white pepper here, like so many strip-mall-hole-in-the-wall Asian places do. Nothing I've ordered here, including fried egg rolls, was greasy. There's garlic, onions, soy, sesame oil, and mirin or Asian cooking wine, in subtle but prudent levels. And that's about it. The meat tastes fresh; the beef and pork are lean and good quality. The beef with broccoli was loaded with lean beef and perfectly stir-fried broccoli and carrots. The chicken fried rice has that perfect little crisp-browning on the rice, abundant chicken, egg, frozen succotash mix, and even fresh sugar snap peas. Service is exceptionally polite and friendly. You drive through, order, then wait in an adjacent gravel lot for 5-10 minutes for them to bring you your food. The teriyaki has the right amount of char without being burnt to coal. Both the chicken and pork were tender and in very satisfying portions. My only complaint is that the included sauce cup is not extra teriyaki sauce; it's plain soy sauce. But apart from that, this place is a gem. read more

The spicy teriyaki was spot on. The rice was good too. The salad had some old pieces in it, but overall was pretty tasty. The egg rolls were a little too big in my opinion. Filthy dirty, crummy service and meh food. When you walk into this place, don't look up. Or down, or sideways, it is messy, dirty and the only reason there aren't any rats around is they're too scared to go into the restaurant for fear they may catch something. The lady at the register was rude and like the West Coast's Soup Nazi. She wouldn't smile, greet any customers or say thank you. Good service counts for a LOT, and the only way she could afford to be this rude was if her food was THAT good, but it really wasn't. My boyfriend was happy with his spicy chicken -- said it was spicier than most, but my food was nothing to write home about. Overcooked chicken, overcooked rice and obviously previously frozen gyoza. Considering the amount of time it took to get the food, it should have been served on fancy plates with pretty garnishes instead of the styrofoam containers they used. In this restaurant, the only difference between here and to go is the plastic bag. My boyfriend was wanting some water, asked for it and didn't get a cup, so thought they charged him for a bottle. He went and grabbed one from the cooler, and the lady behind the counter very rudely said, "One dollar for water." Then the male behind the counter who was a little more friendly told him if he wanted water, they would have given a cup. But he asked for water and no cup was given, so he just thought they'd charged him for the water. The gentleman told him they wouldn't charge tax. Awww, gee -- thanks for that. In the end, I say go to one of the other hundreds of teriyaki places around, because they MUST be better than this one. read more

Moved away from my favorite Teryaki place and spent years trying to find a replacement. Can't believe Yumiko was under my nose the whole time! This place has the best vegetarian yakisoba noodles I've ever had! Not only do they make delicious tofu, they give you lots of it! You don't have to dig through to only get five pieces, it's practically in every bite. They don't skimp on veggies either. I really love this place and it's even worth the wait when they're busy. I had the large sweet and sour chicken today. It was disappointing! There was more onions, peppers, and pineapple than chicken. Definitely not worth the money. Great food. Wonderful people. Definitely as good as teriyaki gets in Lake Stevens -- in fact, this could compete for Best in Class among the various "meat and rice in a styrofoam box" restaurants from which I've had the pleasure of taking food home to sit on my couch. While dine-in is an option, the ambiance isn't what keeps me coming back. I keep coming back for the generous portions and the sweet, sweet burn of the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. read more
