This company has been infuriating to deal with. If I could give 0 stars I would. For starters it took over a week to get them to come out to actually fix our leaking yard hydrant. We scheduled with customer service to have the excavator and dig crew come out on a Saturday... when speaking with Jesse, one of the plumbers, he stated the excavator wasn't scheduled to be rented. This delayed us and due to "policy" they have to have 48 hrs notice before they can have digging done bc 811 needed to be called to mark utilities. Monday we called to schedule and were put on the schedule for Wednesday. Monday 811 came out and marked (I wfh and also have cameras all over my property) and I called Tom Drexler to let them know. They put me on the schedule for that day. They called later on Monday to tell us that they dropped the ball and couldn't do the work that day. Wednesday comes, they do the work, while doing the work my camera closest to our yard hydrant picked up one of the plumbers saying "I don't know why we don't do this more often this is how we get more money". This immediately made me hesitant but I just went on to see what they would say. After replacing the yard hydrant (a 2000 dollar fix) they stated that the main line is corroded and the only way to stop the leak is to replace it (7000k quoted originally). They of course couldn't do the work same day so they left the excavator in our yard overnight to come back and finish the work. Thursday they came and finished the work (12/23/23) and left a white pipe sticking up with instructions that a plumbing inspector would come and make sure the work was done correctly and leave a green sticker....After work was done we received a water bill for 1000 dollars from our city. The city would only do a sewer adjustment so we were responsible for about 700 dollars. Tom Drexler stated they would cover 7 days of the leak which equaled to about 252 dollars. I didn't get any communication until I called January 11th with the proof of water bill where I was told the accounting department would mail a check. I stated our water bill would be due the 20th so I needed it by then. Tom Drexler stated the check would try to be sent but may be delayed due to holidays. January 17th I called, the plumbing inspector still hadn't come by and no one had reached out to them despite me asking for more information. Also that day, January 17th, the customer service rep told me that accounting cuts checks on Wednesdays so expect the check 7-10 business days from January 17th. The plumbing inspector came today and left the green sticker and the check was in the mail with the date of 1/11/24 and was post marked as being mailed 1/16/24. As you can see from this long review there has been a lot of deception and lack of communication from this company. If you are looking for an honest company who will do things in a timely manner, this isn't that company. Take your business somewhere more trustworthy read more

I called Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air & Electric this week b/c I had a kitchen drain pipe that was leaking in the basement. Drexler's sent Hunter Lyons out to check on it. Not only did he check on this pipe, but he checked the other drain pipes in the basement, and several of the pipes that bring water into the house had small pin holes that had been patched. I asked for an estimate to replace the kitchen drain pipe and also an estimate to replace the rest of the copper pipes, and since my house is 69 years old, I decided to get it all done at once before any more of them could burst. I was pleased with the price in replacing all of these pipes, I expected it to cost much more than it did. Hunter Lyons and Dillon Fetz came out the next morning at 9 am and worked til 7:30 pm. These are 2 of the hardest working young men I've ever met, and they were both so pleasant. They were thorough, making sure everything was done right. Both were knowledgeable and explained to me about the type of pipe they were installing to replace the copper pipes, PEX piping. They replaced the kitchen drain pipe in the basement with PVC pipe. They also replaced the PVC pipes under the kitchen sink and I am thrilled with how it drains now, better than it has in the 32 years I've lived here. Hunter and Dillon got everything done, and cleaned everything up before they left. I was amazed at all the work they did and to get it all done in one day was fantastic. I have been using Tom Drexler's Plumbing service for the last 4 years. They have done everything from plumbing to electrical work and they have always exceeded my expectations. Everyone from the employees who take the calls and set up the appointments to the employees who do the work are exceptional, pleasant, and accommodating as they can be. As of 1/24/18 I'm still very happy with TD Plumbing. Each and every time their technicians have arrived on time and are consistently outwardly friendly (winning personality types), personable, and do work that doesn't require a follow up visit. Since my original review I've probably used them 3-4 times with the most recent being two days ago for a furnace tune-up and another one scheduled tomorrow for a drain issue. I've never dug deep in comparing their prices with their competitors. And truthfully, I'm not inclined to because I really enjoy not only the service, but the friendliness of their technicians. I feel confident in their abilities and skills to get the job done right. Each technician has spoken very highly of the company and the owner, which speaks volume to me. I believe in and support companies that are employee-oriented and customer-focused. TD seems to be that company. Several technicians mentioned that TD is very high on training and development. Again, that's not only beneficial to TD and it's customers, but it also empowers the employees as it only makes them better individually and more marketable if ever needed. read more

My bathtub drain has been stopped up for a week or more. I tried using a manual snake & coat hanger wire to clear the drain but was unsuccessful. Then I tired pouring vinegar and baking soda down the drain followed by boiling water and then a co2 cartridge device that blasts air through the drain pipe and none of these methods worked. Totally frustrated, I called Tom Drexler. I made an appointment for the next day, 10/28/16, and the office called in advance and said the technician was on his way. Terry H. was friendly and personable and got to work right away. In quick time he used his drill-type snake and ran it in two directions. That's all it took and my tub drained fantastically. And just in time for my daughter and grandson from Nashville,TN who will be visiting later tonight for the weekend! The charge was $99.00 as promised and I'm more than satisfied. Terry is an assistant scoutmaster and both me and my son are former scouts. He's a great guy and cleaned the basement area where he worked and the tub itself! I posted this review for Tom Drexler's in Louisville, KY but after I posted it, I saw it had a CA address at the top so I am re-writing my post in hopes that it gets to where it needs to be. I needed my a/c unit to be checked for the season and Mr. Bryan Stephens was the gentleman that came out to do the job. Mr. Stephens, Bryan, checked everything and thoroughly cleaned the a/c unit. He showed me pictures he took of it and I was amazed at all of the dirt and dust that had collected in it. In just a matter of moments, I could feel the difference in how the air conditioning was working. Not only did he do the work efficiently, but he also did it with a lovely smile and a positive attitude. Drexler's has been taking care of our home for years and all of their staff are top-notch knowledgeable and friendly, so it's not a surprise that Bryan is one of the most pleasant people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Relocating to Louisville. They were supposed to install a home humidifier and run a gas line to the kitchen while I would be out of town. The job was supposed to start on Tuesday and be done on Wednesday. On Friday I find out from family that the job isn't done - drawers laying on the floor and the pipe just hanging there. I called them to find out that they didn't have the right part - so they want to wait until Sunday to finish the job (even though the part was in on Friday and the tech sent a text saying it would only take 15 min to install). THEN I find out that they had shut off all the gas to the house - meaning no hot water or heat when I returned home on Saturday. When I called them about this they said there's nothing they could do. They did call me back later (after I had hung up on them) to tell me they'd get someone out on Saturday to finish the work. THEN I got a call Saturday morning saying that only Chris could complete this job so I'd have to wait until Sunday. I will NEVER use them again! Run fast! Run far! read more

I had trouble with my AC and thought I probably needed coolant. I had an appt. for a AC tune-up but it was 4 days away and the weather was getting warmer. Justin S. was able to come out the day after I called. He explained the AC was frozen as I had been running it and it needed to be turned off so it could defrost and then he could add coolant. He returned promptly the next morning and added the coolant. He explained what had happened and why and what to look for in case something would change in the future. I appreciate the information along with the repair. He was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all our questions and that I appreciate as well as having a cooler house. He was not able to do the AC tune-up that day so I am still keeping my appointment but I was not charged for an emergency call. That was especially appreciated! Also the business sends you information on who the technician will be and their picture so you know who is coming to your house. Great customer service. read more

I had a clogged bathroom sink. I tried to do everything myself before calling a plumber like using drain cleaner, using baking soda and vinegar, using a drain snake, and taking out the pipes. I even did research online and went to Home Depot to talk to associates there about what I could do before resorting to a plumber. But the clog was in the wall and I couldn't get to it. So I called Tom Drexler on Monday afternoon and they sent Jason K. the next day. Jason was 30 minutes early. He was very nice, personable, and friendly. He unclogged the bathroom pipe. It turned out to be a bunch of sludge and hair. He answered all of my questions and gave me advice about how to prevent future problems. He also cleaned up afterward. I felt he went the extra mile in making sure that I was informed and comfortable. The whole process was easy and I was happy with the finished work. I am glad I called Tom Drexler to fix my drain issue, and I would highly recommend Jason as a drain tech. read more

January 6, 2015 1:00 P.M. Called Tom Drexler plumbing due to clogged kitchen drain. (Two other plumbing companies did not answer the phone) I was told that a technician would not be available until 3:00 P.M. which was fine. About 15 minutes later I was notified that the tech would be early. Dan P. arrived at 2:15 and quickly grasped what the problem could be. He went at the problem taking care to not dirty the house and talking us through the repairs. The solution required entering the crawl space of our 100 yr. (plus) house. I have been there and don't want to go back. He completed the initial drain repair and then tackled another drain issue, successfully fixing it in short order. He did all repairs in a cheerful, professional manner. Dan even gave us advice on maintaining our drains. Unfortunately the repair was not the $99 variety but was fair and in keeping with the work that was required. We would definitely recommend this company and technician. read more

I've used them several times and always have found them to be very professional, reliable, and reasonably priced. However, this last time the cost seemed a little excessive-over $1000 for a bathtub faucet replacement. Yes, it was the original 1951 faucet and they had to take out a couple tiles, but for that kind of money, I feel like I should be headed towards a bathroom remodel. They gave me 3 options--of course I went for cheapest, but then they said the part I needed no longer existed, so that wasn't an option anymore. But since everything was already torn apart, I didn't have a lot of other options, so I went ahead with it. I like that they don't charge more for weekends, as I've needed them on a Sunday before. And I've had plumbers who didn't return my calls at all, so it might be worth a little extra to have someone who shows up when they say they will. The work has always been very good and I have no complaints about the work or the employees. read more

We lost power after the raining then quick freeze Saturday night. In addition to that, our gas service to the house stopped. After a lengthy wait for LG&E to address both problems, we hear, at 5pm, from LG&E that we need to call a plumber. I called Tom Drexler and am told that someone could get here between 8-12 pm. Terry shows up at our door a little after 8 and I explain the problem. He looks at the gas regulator, takes pictures and is ready to head to the warehouse to pick one up when he stops, takes his pen and clears out the vent hole. Whoosh, he hears gas going through. We check the stove and we have gas! Terry helped me get all the gas appliances up and running. I was ready to spend 100's of dollars on opening a warehouse, a new gas regulator and Terry's labor just to get the house heated but Terry knocked it out with his magic pen. Cato gave us an estimate for multiple repairs and the installation of a new water heater in a home we just purchased. The inspection had unearthed multiple issues and he discussed appropriate options in detail. The estimate was a little on the high side, but Drexler stands by their work and works on a cost-per-job basis, which means that if they discover issues beyond the quote involved in getting the quoted job done, they will do it at no additional charge. We also appreciated both the prompt attention to our work and Mike's approach. He and his assistant (Nick) came on time and we were very impressed with the quality of their work. When the rebuild of both bathroom faucets didn't work they replaced both at no cost (again, a good aspect of Drexler's price-per-job approach). I don't know if all of their service people are as good as Cato and Nick, but if so, I'd recommend them highly for any plumbing job you have going. read more

Jeremy U. has helped me with several plumbing jobs. He is always very pleasant and professional. He shows up on time and he has always tried to find ways to make our repairs affordable. I own a house that was built in 1923 and a lot of the plumbing in my house is unusual to the say the least. The reason that I called him for this visit was because I had a waterfall in my kitchen because a toilet supply valve was leaking on my second floor. I got most of the water stopped, but he came quickly and repaired the toilet for a very affordable price. I recommend Jeremy to all of my friends and family and I can't say enough good things about the quality of his work. I have always gone with smaller companies for house repairs because I thought that larger companies would be too expensive. I was pleasantly surprised to find Jeremy and I am really relieved that I finally have a good plumber that I can trust. read more

As a new homeowner this was my first time needing to use a plumbing service. I picked Tom Drexler because he's the plumber who's name is his number and who can forget that? They dispatched Jeremy Uptain to fix a hot water faucet that was a steady stream of a leak. He was SO NICE and professional! He even pet my dog!!!! He had his mask on and I didn't have a single worry about him following COVID protocol, felt super comfortable with him in the house the entire time, which wasn't long because he got right down to business and finished quickly! He walked me through a few other issues he saw with the water lines in our basement of our very old house. No pressure at all with sales or any of that stuff. Sunday night as I walked through the basement to throw some food in the freezer I heard that "squishing" sound that could only mean trouble. The soaked carpet led to the discovery of a leak in a copper pipe located in our utility closet. I shut off the water main and called Tom Drexler hoping that someone could come right away. Within a few minutes of my initial call, Michael D called to say he was on his way. When Michael arrived he quickly went to work and identified the location of the pinhole leak. He provided a reasonable estimate and then proceeded to replace the failed section of pipe. Although I wasn't thrilled about being hit with a surcharge, I do understand it was a Sunday night and was pleased with the prompt repair and the quality of work. I had an appointment for 1pm and they showed at 12:30...that alone is better than most. I had a badly clogged drain and Chris Stengel. gave me all of the information about what he was going to do...answered all of my questions(some where probably dumb)...and gave me an estimate of the cost. Again, another question about the estimate, he explained everything. He got to work. He had a problem and asked if I wanted to handle it one way...I suggested another way...and he did it my way. He had to snack my drain four times...twice with one size snake and than twice with a bigger snake. It is working now. I think he pulled a large fur ball out of my drain. When he cleaned up it looked like he had never been there. I know have a warranty on this drain, and a new new plumbing company for my house. read more

O had never used Tom Drexler in the past, but had several other businesses come to the house with variable results. I decided I needed two ceiling fans installed, two other electricians ha given me quotes that were higher than Tom Drexler. One wanted more money for one fan install that Drexler charged me for two fans. One was merely a replacement of the existing fixture, the other was a totally new install running wire from an existing switch and complete install of the fan and the receptacle in a ceiling that was totally devoid of any hardware. Austin came here, gave me a quote that was lower than other bidders and they stuck by it, Austin and his assistant did a quick professional job. As long as this kind of service is the norm, Tom Drexler will be my go to place for home repair. read more

I had a clogged kitchen drain so I called Tom Drexler plumbing whom I have used in the past. The scheduler gave me several options and was pleasant on the phone. The next day Allen came within the two hour window and they even called ahead to alert me to his arrival. Allen was friendly and I immediately noticed that he put on cloth footies over his shoes every time he came in and out of my house which I really appreciated on a wet day. He cleared the drain quickly but even more he cleared out and then rethreaded my clean out valve and gave me a new replacement cap. For me, this was the bigger issue going forward as this valve had gotten harder and harder for me to use.
