Put in a request for service last night and got a call promptly this morning, that's where the good news ends. I let the lady know that we had turned off our heater to prevent any further damage and we're using space heaters to get by. She was 100% willing and helpful to get us booked until I mentioned that when she was available to send someone out. I had already requested another company because I anticipated this to be an expensive repair and I would like to get some estimates quickly. It was at this point that suddenly I could no longer fit on their schedule and I was directly told that I should just let the other company come out. When I asked if there was an issue that I was getting quotes, she said well. Let us know when you want to replace the unit and then offered to send someone out, but only if I was willing to tell them I was going to replace the unit right now. They had no intentions of even looking at the unit to try and repair it and are very obviously not looking for other companies to contradict their pricing or their desire to push you into the most expensive path. I am thoroughly glad they were not the first people to call because I very well probably would have ended up with a overinflated bill for what probably could have just been fixed. Do not use them!!!! Response to comment: your response may hold some merit as long as no one asked the simple question. Then why were you willing to send someone out to my house as long as I was willing to commit to replacing the entire unit sight unseen? read more

The only positive is they were able to come the same day called. We needed a capacitor replaced which is an approximately $10 item. They charged us $199 for the item. My husband requested to keep the old capacitor and the technician told him he had to return it to the shop, husband also asked then to keep the box of new capacitor, he was then told the box also had to be returned to the shop. When I called the company to verify the cost mark up on the $10 part, she explained the upcharge was for education, inservices, and ancillary charges. 200% up charge is totally ridiculous and not letting us keep our own property (the old capacitor) is also ridiculous. I'd like to thank our last technician Jayseen for beng the person he is and represents BJ's exceptionally well. He is fairly new to BJ's but he took the time to explain all the service parameters he covered and what type of filters to use. He covered what he all checked and any concerns he had. When I arrived at home just before he departed he went over everything with me as well! Covered more items then regularly covered but I was thankful for that. As always seems to happen, during a 105-degree heat index day, the Bryant HVAC system in one of our rental houses stopped cooling. Needless to say, this type of situation is always a "code red" problem for both us and especially our tenants. We left a message on their answering machine (before office hours) and we promptly received a call-back immediately upon opening at 7:30am. By 9:00am our Service Tech, Bob, was already at work on the compressor and busy diagnosing our problem. At first glance, all the equipment appeared to be in good working order, but the thermostat was displaying a sensor problem so obviously something was amiss. I was really impressed with Bob's customer service and technical expertise - he didn't give up! Soon, Bob was confident he identified the problem and made the necessary repairs to the condenser unit. While he was testing the effectiveness of his repairs by running the unit on "high", Bob rinsed the coils to remove years' worth of junk preventing optimum airflow around the coils. Then he "topped-off" my refrigerant so that everything was in tip-top working order. He even gave our tenants a mini tutorial on how to properly work the thermostat - bonus points! Service Techs like Bob make all the difference in the world, and I appreciate his good work. The appointment was for between 3 and 4. They showed up at 5:15. No phone call from them, I called them four times. I heard a different story every time about why he wasn't there. I had waited for over an hour in my pickup for them. I was told I would receive a curtesy call half an hour before they arrived. WRONG no call. When he arrived, he set in his truck for another five minutes talking on the phone. That sent me over the edge. I told him to just leave, that I would call Bryant Heating and Cooling. I called this firm as my furnace went out. The tech showed on time and troubleshot the furnace. He said the ignition module went out and the gas valve was bad. He gave me an approximate price. I approved the repair. He then called me back and told me he advised me to buy a new furnace. I declined and paid his diagnosis fee. I went to another firm and had the furnace repaired. read more

Do NOT call this company. I called them told them exactly what was wrong with my furnace because I had to replace the same part about 4 yrs ago. They came out and 2 min later told me exactly what I had already told them it was. They told me it would be $900 to replace the motor. I things have gone up but I paid $52 for the motor 4 yrs ago and my late husband put it in. $900 seems way excessive of an increase. Not to mention if he would have just told me on the phone that it would be $900 I could have saved myself the $89 service call charge. I just basically gave the $89 for them to tell me I was right. Oh and they tried to up sell me an entire new furnace how much would that have been $10,000???? This company definitely tries to take advantage of single mothers. I have had BJ heating and cooling for 11yrs. now and never had any problems with them. They are always here when they say they will be. The service men are very nice and careful about covering their shoes in the house. They even put up with my puppy who can be nosey at times. If they are running a little late they call and let me know. If I have any problems in the future I would not hesitate to call them. They have serviced my A/C and furnace from the beginning and hopefully when I need new ones they will give me the same service. They take care of their customers! read more

First off I had a contractor build a house back in 2014 and BJ Heating and Cooling was sub contracted to install my HVAC in that home. I've experienced their workmanship and Bryant products in the past. I've since moved on and needed to update the HVAC in my current home where I now live. Did a lot of research on exactly what I wanted. Installing multiple furnace and AC units aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination. This time I had to chose the contractor as I am replacing the units not building a new home. Called and received quotes from multiple companies. Barry came out to the house and struck me as an honest guy that was very knowledgeable in the trade. Shot me straight. Quote wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't the most either among the seven total quotes received. Barry valued that I've seen and experienced their work and been a customer in the past. Even answered my questions long after the quote was given to me as I wasn't gonna make a decision on this immediately like some of the competitors tried to get me to do. Anyone who tried to pressure sell me was out immediately regardless of the price. Barry was zero pressure. He assured me when we finally shook hands on the deal that it was gonna get done and done right. He sent Scott, Glen, and Jaime out to do the install. Very respectful of my home and my circumstances. Top notch craftsman. Cleaned up after themselves and after a few days had both systems installed and running like a top. Can't say how much I appreciate their workmanship and professionalism from top to bottom. I have been with BJ Heating & Cooling since around 2006. The employees have always been nice and very courteous. This past Monday, my furnace died. One of the technicians came out, replaced a part and the thermostat and got the furnace running again. Unfortunately, there was something else wrong with the furnace. Since my furnace and a/c unit were 25 years old, I cringed and bought a new system. Robby was nothing but helpful, gave me a price quote yesterday, and today they installed the furnace very professionally. Unfortunately, during the installation process, at some point, the pilot light on my water heater went out (very close quarters), and the tech couldn't relight the water heater. Robby immediately set that straight by sending out a plumber (at their cost) to fix the water heater. That's awesome customer service. Will definitely recommend to my friends. read more

My compressor in my heat pump went out and B&J was able to assess and have personnel out later that morning to install a new outside unit and inside coils. The Techs John & Micheal were very professional and the work was completed in the time they gave me. All of my questions were answered with confidence and to my expectations. I called BJ Heating & Cooling on Thursday 6/16 and was able to make an appointment for the next day...their customer service rep was very friendly and helpful and upfront..she told me how much the service run would be and that the service tech might be late if previous customers took longer...on Friday the customer service rep called and let me know that they would be running behind schedule but he would be there and I would get another call when he was on his way. When Trey arrived he explained about their maintenance program... It sounded like a great plan so that's what we went with...trey quickly diagnosed the problem with our a/c unit..he replaced the capacitor and added freon..trey was very knowledgeable and informative..he was very friendly..he did not try to sell me a new a/c unit.. Buyer beware. Our heater went out (this past winter) and we had someone come out. It needed a new coil, which the technician promptly replaced. And then charged us $211 for the part alone. We looked it up online and could have purchased it ourselves for about $25. "That's the convenience charge of us having it on the truck," he said. Really? A 1000% markup? They're fast and they'll do good work, but it'll cost ya. read more
