I'm not someone who typically writes negative reviews, but my recent experience has been so…read morefrustrating that I feel obligated to share it for others considering insurance options. I've had both auto and condo insurance with State Farm for about a year. While my auto policy remained stable, my condo insurance suddenly increased from $650 to $950 -- roughly a 33% jump. I reached out to my agent, John Avery, well over a month in advance to understand the increase. Despite multiple emails and follow-ups over several weeks, I received no response. Even after contacting State Farm directly twice and being told they would follow up, nothing happened. Eventually, just one day before the policy renewal, I received a call from the agent's office attributing the increase to "inflation," with no real explanation or willingness to review alternatives. The response felt dismissive, as if they were perfectly fine losing a customer. Unfortunately, things only got worse when I had to file claims. After a snowstorm caused suspension damage, followed by a pothole incident that resulted in a flat tire, I filed two claims. What followed was an incredibly disorganized and time-consuming process: I was sent to multiple repair shops that either couldn't help or redirected me elsewhere I was told different and often conflicting instructions by different representatives each time I called Scheduling an appraiser was extremely difficult -- appointments kept changing depending on who I spoke to I spent hours coordinating between auto shops and State Farm, including sitting at a shop for over 4 hours, only to find out the shop had never received the required communication from State Farm After all this, I was told the appraiser had "missed" the inspection and that I would need to restart the entire process, leave my car again, and reschedule everything This level of inefficiency is incredibly frustrating. Filing a claim is already stressful -- this experience made it unnecessarily worse. Communication was poor, coordination was lacking, and the burden of managing the process was entirely pushed onto me as the customer. To add to the inconvenience, even something as simple as rescheduling an inspection cannot be done online -- you have to call every single time. I understand insurance claims can be complex, but this experience felt disorganized, unresponsive, and dismissive of the customer's time. Honestly, I expected much better from a company like State Farm.

Do not trust this agency…read more John Avery somehow sold my elderly mother a rental insurance policy on top of a car insurance policy (that she actually wanted). There is no rental property. Absolutely shameful.
