Eventually, we turned around to talk to him, because it was evident he was skilled and local, which is what we were looking for. A really good conversation about what he was doing at this neighbor's house and what we were looking to have done. Glenn gave us his card and came by the next day to give us an estimate on the work we'd like completed in the spring. Very reasonable. Sure enough, when the threat of freeze ended, we got in touch with Glenn to do the work. He replied very shortly and was at our house within days. Everything done was perfect - exactly what we wanted. He and his crew are prompt, polite, communicative, thorough -- and they clean up after themselves! He backed his truck up and the ladder on top went through my kid's garage mounted basketball back board. It was a large, nice one. He said he would replace it. This happened in January. I asked him several times about replacing what he had broken. I asked for his insurance information. Finally in May, he brought a small, used, terrible replacement. He said someone had given it to him. It was stained green with mildew. I have purchased a new one and had it put up. My kids are happy to be playing ball again, after 5 months. It looked awful. It was embarrassing to have attached to my house. I ordered a new one to replace it. We continued to employ him. In those 5 months, he only showed up 3 times. We asked for weekly service. I called him often to ask when he would mow the lawn. He had one excuse after another, as to why he just couldn't do it, but always said he would be there in a couple days. Still never showed. I hired someone new to take care of what he neglected. It cost me $892 to get my yard back in good condition. Terrible terrible terrible experience!!!!

Even though the job was small, the design was so nice that it made our yard the nicest in the neighborhood. When we sold, the yard was the reason we got asking price, which was over 40% more than we paid for the home. That just didn't happen back then. Moving forward to 2018, we found our dream home and we called on SLD once again and they knocked it out of the park. This time on a much larger scale. The job consisted of new plants, shrubs, bushes, trees, sidewalks, and even an actual cul-de-sac. They re-graded my over half acre yard, installed front and rear drainage, a 14 zone sprinkler system, and even cut in a beach entrance to my pond. I saw a couple of other reviews that talked about the owners being arrogant or whatever. It's not arrogance, it's confidence. They are very good people. When I have someone do something that is so important and cost as much money as these type of jobs do, I want someone who knows what they're doing and Stewart Land Designs is that company.
