Listen the black olive dip with a little olive oil you'll forget you order something else . Updated rating is a 10/10 by way the wine is always good there and price is amazingly affordable. I never leave reviews but my experience tonight was very upsetting. Short Version: The food was ok, and our waitress was nice. What left me speechless was the owner's father of this establishment (Luis) called my family member "fat", he straight out told my family member that they were "fat" and needed to loose weight! We've spent good money here and this is how Tomato and Basil treats their clients, by insulting their customers. Longer Version: We ordered, ate, food was ok, we were having a nice time, waitress was nice, we paid, and as we were leaving, Luis (he's the old bald man with glasses) is making small talk and has the nerve to say directly to my family member that they are fat and need to loose weight, and goes on and on mentioning this FOUR times (on top of that the person he was calling "fat" is a 6ft man that weighs 180 lbs, that's considered "fat" to him). We were all left speechless and didn't know how to react to this. My family and I, have NEVER been disrespected this way in any sort of establishment before. We went in Friday night which is $20 all you can drink Prosecco! My girlfriends and I have gone for a fun ladies night to enjoy their food and outdoor dining. Love the atmosphere and collective rustic feel to the place. It truly gets you in the mood for some good food. They bring out these little mini rolls with an olive dip. My husband pretty much ate the whole thing. For appetizer we ordered Tomato & Basil. So fresh and crisp. Next we ordered a side of meatballs, WOW we haven't had amazing meatballs like these in years! Literally melt in your mouth. Sooooo delicious. We than moved on to the main dishes but wanted more meatballs, lol. My husband ordered Napolitana pizza and I ordered the lasagna. Absolutely mouthwatering, flavorful, and authentic flavors. Truly can't wait to try the rest of their menu. For dessert we had tiramisu and flan with Dulce de leche. This joint has become our little go to pizza place. It is in my city of North Miami within walking distance from my house. Their pizzas are delicious. Always fresh and tasty. If you eat in, they start you off with little bread bites and a delicious tapenade. This time, my husband and I ordered the four cheese and the meat lover pizzas. Now I am not a big fan of the meat lovers normally, but this one was really really good. You can tell the meat is not some cheap sausage that you cannot digest for hours. The four cheese was also wonderful. I took the leftover for lunch the next day and it tasted even better. We ended our meal with tiramisu. First we ordered one slice to share, but it was so good I ate the whole thing by myself before my husband had a chance to taste it and I also forgot to take a picture. Update: I decided that it had been a while and I would give this place another try. 12 inch Gorgonzola and prosciutto pizza and two cokes $35 delivered...ridiculous! Pizza was soggy and unappetizing but I was starving. It wasn't inedible but not worth the price - Never again. I was really looking forward to this place & instead of ordering from Mama Jennie's, I decided to give this place a shot. I placed my order at 12:15. I was told it would take 30-45 minutes, fair enough. One hour later, the woman who took my order called to verify the address saying the delivery driver was outside. She asked that I go wait outside. I stood outside for 15 minutes with no sign of the driver. Finally I came back inside, dying from the heat! My employee called the restaurant and man answered and with attitude said the driver was on her way. An hour & 45 minutes after we ordered, the driver arrived with a cold (bland) pizza and soggy Caesar salad, with iceberg lettuce, not romaine FYI. The driver was a sweetheart and refused to take a tip even though we insisted. I will not be wasting my money on this restaurant again. Sometimes it's not the situation but your reaction to the situation that matters - I see this restaurant doesn't even respond to their negative reviews so I doubt they care. read more

Wow!! I love this place. I went there for the first time last night. The pizza was the best pizza I had in years. It had fresh ingredients and the dough was light, airy, not greasy at all and perfectly baked. Everything I had on my visit was delicious. I had the Napolitana Pizza, the Mushroom and Brie Empanada, and the Tres-Colores Salad and tiramisu. Not only were the ingredients fresh but the plating was beautiful to behold. Just ordered food from delivery and I was super surprised. The manicotti was still super hot and delicious. One of the best pink sauces I have ever had. Then the pizza, ordered a large Tanguito. Omg! The dough is amazing. Super thin , crunchy well executed. The only thing... don't order a large unless there are 5 people eating. Small Italian restaurant located in North Miami. Very casual with a hipster vibe. Honestly, it kinda made me feel I was in Italy for a second. I ordered the lentil soup, (I'm a sucker for lentil soup), which it was decent. Presentation was very creative but the soup itself felt kinda insipid. The little pieces of bread that came with it, oh my! That was fresh and soft. I opted for the eggplant which I understood was baked and made at the moment. However, when I took my 1st bite, it was kinda cold. I kept eating thinking it was maybe the tomato sauce on top that was freshly made and kept on the fridge, but when I ate the second piece of egg plant, I got a frozen piece of vegetable in my mouth. I obviously asked the waiter to please cook it again which they did immediately. However, when I asked why was it frozen, she replied it was made in the mornin and then put on the fridge to kept fresh...hummm not sure how to feel about that. Anyway, the dish tasted good but the whole fresh made thing kinda got me thinking. I didn't have any dessert but their espresso comes with a small bit of chocolate cake that was delish and good enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Nothing beats this in person experience. EVERYTIME I go here the service is always fast! Pizza always come out hot, fresh and ready to eat!
