Like many of you in NE Miami, when Andiamos pizza closed last fall we lost our traditional pizza joint. That started The Great Pizza Quest, a months-long, expedition around the neighborhoods searching for an amazing pie at a fair price. Our search is over. Tomato and Basil is the one. I write this after 4 visits. Margarita pizza, a simple pie that has nowhere to hide. It demands top-tier ingredients. Theirs is absolutely superb. The crusts on the pizzas are delicious. The Di Parma has tender thin shaved prosciutto. We've ordered the Mushrooms and the Veggy and they totally hit the spot. One visit included a carnivorous friend. He demolished the Meatlovers. We have shared the Tres Colores salad and everyone raved about it. You can tell the proprietor takes serious pride in sourcing quality ingredients. The staff is friendly. We like sitting outside in the back and there is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Yeah! We have officially secured our new Friday night pizza joint. read more

Great little restaurant in North Miami across from the Museum of Contemporary Art. Big selection of Pizza and even some pasta dishes, as well as Empanadas and Calzones. Good prices and specials. The pizza I had was delicious and I liked that you could even buy some by the slice. Nice selection of wines and beverages. This was my second time coming here this week that's how good it is! I got the meatball sub again because I couldn't stop thinking about it, and it was just as amazing as the first time. This time, I place an order for pick up and realized they have the cutest little patio out back, which is perfect if you want to eat outside and enjoy the vibe. Inside is super cozy too. I have been craving Pizza in Miami that fulfills my New York standards. Tried a few places and I was so disapointed. Literally stumbled upon Tomato and Basil and they delivered quality Pizza. Delicious light crust, tasty sauce and it ranks in my Top Five Margarita Pizza's. On top of that, the owners are friendly, warm and welcoming, just like they were in my home town of Amityville. Randomly found this amazing g pizza spot just down the street from the MOCA museum. It's a bit of a hole in the wall but beautifully rustically decorated and the pizza is wood fired and fresh. My date and I split a medium spinach Gorgonzola white pizza and it's really hot the spot. Light and savory. The service was quick and attentive. They first out out a cool presentation of bread 'nuggets' I guess, in a Cento tomatoes can.. and a side of a delicious olive tapenade spread. I ordered delivery from ubereats last night and I ordered the Napolitano pizza, alfredo chicken spaghetti, lasagna, and Ceasar salad. I called b4 I ordered that lady that answered was very good and I asked if they could add spinach to the chicken spaghetti she said yes...well she lied... the lasagna was just ok way too much dry meat and the chicken spaghetti was great, but no spinach. After a couple of years not coming to Tomato and Basil, tonight I decided to give it a try again after a few friends were telling me that it was different... I am glad I did...the food and ambiance is totally different than two years ago...my last visit. As soon as I sat, hot bread nuggets came in to the table with a nice spread on the side. I had the eggplant lasagna. It is served in a onion soup bowl....really, really hot. Looks are deceiving, the portion was good enough size for me. It was DELICIOUS...! I could come back again and again and again ... I also ordered a Putanesca pizza to go and it was amazing as well... The waitress was very attentive and service was on point! I love this place. The place is a hole in a wall but very cozy and cute. The food is also good. They have specials on weekdays. Then, why I took one star? It's very close to my work and I even had a party for my work. But when we went to the restaurant, the people at the restaurant didn't know that we were coming. We didn't have many people so we could put tables together quickly and enjoyed the food and conversation. The family tasked me with finding a place to eat in the area and I found this place thanks to Yelp. I thought there was only street parking but they have parking in the back. The place is small but very inviting. Thursdays offered up $5 mimosa for the ladies so we obviously had to have a mimosa. We decided to split some pizzas and some had the chicken parm which was a very generous portion. They start you off with bread and an olive dip which was nice. And we ended with the nutella and dulce de leche crepes. Everything was wonderful- especially the service. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. This place is great! Service is friendly and easygoing. I've been here several times and the sandwiches and oven baked dishes are incredible (I'm looking at the cannelones). I've never had the pizza but it's quite popular with other customers. There's a beautiful mural on the interior and some other nice decorations. The olive dip that came with the free bread was super addictive. I think I could have a meal of just that. The gnocchi in pink sauce was delicious and creamy, and the lasagna was perfectly acidic and rich. The decor is adorable and every table has a different view. The ambiance of this intimate pizzeria is beautiful. The entire back wall is nicely decorated with wooden wine crates, wine bottles and decor. There is a good amount of seating, but not good enough for a large party. The owner is very hospitable and does everything from bussing tables to serving to taking orders. I found it real refreshing. The wait time is a bit long. We ordered mid-afternoon on a weekday. Now, we ordered two 18' pizzas to go; margherita and sausage & mushroom. I can't lie, the pizza was good but not the best. The crust was fairly thin, tasted mehh, and tough; but the toppings made the pizza great. They also have this bread that you pull apart and dip in olive oil (can't remember the day). It wasn't so great either (my boss was raving about this place, so I just chucked it up to a bad dough day). So now on a separate day, I went back to get an empanada, which are made and placed in a display. Let's just say, stick to the pizza. Though they warm it up it was still cold and the taste was off. I never leave reviews but my experience tonight was very upsetting. Short Version: The food was ok, and our waitress was nice. What left me speechless was the owner's father of this establishment (Luis) called my family member "fat", he straight out told my family member that they were "fat" and needed to loose weight! We've spent good money here and this is how Tomato and Basil treats their clients, by insulting their customers. Longer Version: We ordered, ate, food was ok, we were having a nice time, waitress was nice, we paid, and as we were leaving, Luis (he's the old bald man with glasses) is making small talk and has the nerve to say directly to my family member that they are fat and need to loose weight, and goes on and on mentioning this FOUR times (on top of that the person he was calling "fat" is a 6ft man that weighs 180 lbs, that's considered "fat" to him). We were all left speechless and didn't know how to react to this. My family and I, have NEVER been disrespected this way in any sort of establishment before. We paid good money here, and this is how they treat people. read more
