This ride is REALLY as bad as the other reviews have stated. I made up my mind before I went down there for the Ripley's Haunted Adventure that I wasn't going to do the Tomb Rider ride. BUT, at the Ripley's Haunted Adventure they tried to up sell me on a package to do both rides for an extra $10. I told them no, and then they magically dropped the offer to 99 cents. So I figured, what the hell, let me do it. The ride REALLY sucks. Just like everyone else has said, it is not 3D, so don't bother wearing the glasses they give you. There's some cool things to see along the ride, but you are so focused on competing and shooting the targets that you don't really get to check things out and enjoy the ride. It's literally just shoot, shoot, shoot. And that's it. After you get off the ride, there are some retro arcade games that you can play for free - non-stop. If you can get the 99 cent offer like I did, then do it. But there's absolutely no way I would pay more than a buck for this experience. This attraction needs to be replaced with something else. This was the third attraction on the multi attraction pass I purchased. Although I ended up paying like $10, I think this is more like a $5 ride. At the beginning of the ride, you are given a pair of 3D glasses as you get into the car. The only problem? Nothing in there is 3D! I'm convinced they just have you wear them to mess up your aim, so you don't hit the targets so easily. I closed one eye and was able to shoot just fine. At the end of the ride, they have a free play arcade. (Most of the games are shooting oriented but there was also some other options though). read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Waste of time, life and money. I never been so bored in my life. When you arrive, you are given instructions and 3-D glasses and you are taken away in a cart and travel through the tomb rider exhibit. your mission is to shoot monster and such though out your journey. Nothing about this journey was 3-D. I think the glasses were to make the shooting of the monsters difficult and the gun beyond rigged. The whole experience was not fun at all. The best part about the whole thing was the free random arcade that at the very end of the ride. Most of the games are shooting games and not really a lot of choices. Mortal Kombat was the best one there. I don't recommend this place to any anybody. Not even children. I think children would laugh at this junk as well. read more

TOURIST TRAP!: I'm surprised this ride is still open. I would have thought it would have been replaced by now! The Tomb Raider theme, with all the jungle-like vegetation, is what lured us in. Although the ride itself does not encompass the same environment. The actual ride is a cart that takes you through a slow, winding, trail with colorful, stationary monster targets to shoot at that are about 7ft away. I would say it was about 5 minutes, at best. The 3-D is non existent. They give you 3-D glasses to put on but nothing is in 3-D, unfortunately. To make matters a little more dull my gun wasn't working. The only reason my wife was laughing was because we bet to see who would get more kills but with my gun not working, she found it hilarious. Perhaps for the young 6, 7, and 8 year olds, this maybe a suitable attraction but with the guns not functioning properly, I hardly see the point. I easily enjoy just about anything but I'm hard pressed to say, SKIP THIS ATTRACTION. There's a lot more places around the corner where your money is better well spent. read more

The tomb rider 3d ride was included with our 3 way ripley's ticket so we thought why not. It isn't high quality 3d so just take the glasses off, you will be fine. Our cart didn't work for keeping score the 1st time through so we went back through twice. The young children seemed to like it so I merged their 4 star review with my 2 star review to get the final 3 star review. I wouldn't pay for it by itself, but if it comes for $4 with a multi ticket I can't complain too much. The ride was slow moving and you "shoot" light guns at targets. The targets are small blue dots that are actually difficult to hit. They turn red when you shoot them. There is a very small scripted story about 4 lines long at a couple parts of the ride. If you have been to Disney or universal studios and know what a light shooting ride should be like you will really be disappointed with this one. I'll put up our score sp you can see my son who was shooting the whole time got a 0 point score. He still liked it and since the guy at the end said we won he was happy. The best part for me was the free oldschool arcade at the end when you get off the ride. I let my kids gj o back and ride it a 3rd time while my wife and I played games. read more

I've been to many a theme park, ridden many a ride and this ranks as not very good. It's over quick, the guns don't work well, the decor is old and the effects are not very good. This is a money pit. It's way over priced, you come out into what amounts to a dark hall ( feels like a back street alley ) they call a game room. Then they try to sell you a poor quality picture of your experience, don't bother. It's a knock off and concept cross between Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, but fails badly. For the price, it's way too short and not worth it. Thus was the last event with my kids. They wanted to ride it and they enjoyed it. They were actually terrified. My wife and I had a lot of fun taking this short ride shooting at the skeletons and other bad guys. The guns were a little off, but that could have been because both of us wear glasses and had to put the 3d ones on over top. When we take a family trip to San Antonio instead of a business trip, we will definatly bring our boys here and let them have at it. I know they will enjoy it loads more then we did. read more

Came here with my boyfriend to check out the attraction. It sucked and and it looked old and I was waiting for stuff to pop out and scare us but it didn't. Tomb Rider 3D was highly disappointing. We chose to do only this attraction because we did not have a lot of time to spend in the area. We thought for the price of $127.67 for 6 people to enjoy this attraction we would get a somewhat exciting roller coaster ride with the added fun of an interactive game. Instead we got a very slow ride with laser guns to shoot at non-moving targets (not at all interactive) and half the time (or more) the targets didn't even register that the laser had hit the target. Not even my 6 year old was impressed by this experience. I feel very strongly that you need to reevaluate your pricing for this attraction when a guest chooses to enjoy this attraction only. A ride similar to this experience at a pay per ride amusement park would average about $3 - $5 per person. read more

The ride itself was very short but it was fun while it lasted. You basically shoot at things that come out from the walls. It's was very loud and colorful. WARNING! Severe tourist trap! This ride was a major letdown. I pictured something similar to the haunted mansion at Disney World, with animatronics and all the non-sense. Instead, this ride puts two people in a cart and gives you a gun to "shoot" skeletons and other random monsters. While this sounds awesome, it is anything but. The guns are lifted from old Area 51 arcade games, and the only way you're hitting one these monsters is when you're about two feet away from them. I'd have better luck just getting out of the cart and slapping them. It's hard to see the sights of the ride when you're too busy trying to get the gun to work. You're given 3D glasses prior to the ride, but their use remains a complete mystery. Nothing on the ride is 3D, and you can actually see much better without them. $21 dollars for a 5 minute ride that barely works and has lame scenery is a rip off any way you look at it. I will never spend that much money on a ride like that again. I went with my mom, sister, husband, nephew, 2 daughters and son. It thought it was horrible the teenagers thought it was okay, my 9 year old son was upset his gun didn't work as was my husband. It was way overpriced-we got a combo ticket and went to the World Record Museum too. We spend almost $200 the museum was pretty good, but wish we would have done one of the other attractions (should have known something was up when the girl at the register told us it only last 5 minutes) read more
