I hadn't been here since middle school, we used to come every year. I really enjoyed experiencing it as an adult. Our family pays for prestige and a food package. We paid extra for the VIP / fast lane. Did not know we had to pay an extra $14 a person to attend the water park. All that money to not realize it was not included.. the fats pass lanes were pretty quick. Staff were friendly! Food is mediocre. Very pricey but it's expected with a theme park. The food areas in the waterpark areas were severely under staffed at one point only had two cashiers. For a day like 4th of July where both parks were at capacity by 3pm they should've planned more accordingly. We really enjoyed exploring and the size of the park. It seemed to be a lot more spread out than the one in California. Also seemed to have room to grow. We wish all ride lines had shade and were interactive like the Joker ride. Stayed to watch all 3 of the Star Spangled Nights, loved the shows especially the Grand Finale We will be back! The absolute worst customer service experience! From the website to the staff at the park, the entire process was frustrating. We purchased our tickets online to attend the July 4th celebration, but nowhere on the website did it mention that viewing the fireworks required an additional $17 admission. It also failed to mention that the fireworks wouldn't begin until 11:00 p.m. When we tried to get answers, no one seemed to have accurate information. Employees directed us to Customer Service, while Customer Service referred us back to employees. Unfortunately, no one was able to provide clear details, leaving many guests confused and frustrated. The experience was made even more frustrating because supervisors blamed the marketing department instead of taking ownership or providing solutions. It was clear they had very little knowledge of the actual park experience, event details, or what guests had been promised. Rather than helping resolve concerns, they shifted responsibility, leaving customers feeling ignored and unsupported. Guests shouldn't have to navigate conflicting information or excuses when they simply want accurate answers and good customer service. What made the situation even more disappointing was seeing so many people turned away. In previous years, guests were able to walk in and enjoy the fireworks, but this year's additional charge caught many by surprise and resulted in a lot of unhappy customers. The one bright spot was the fireworks themselves. The 360-degree view from inside the park was absolutely spectacular and made for an incredible show. Registering for the disability access is a joke, no accommodations were made even though I was approved by their 3rd party vendor for them. We went for the July 4th celebration, staff was grossly uninformed on when the event would start or reserved seating access would open. They provided snacks (limit 1 per person) for those with VIP access to the show, but then threw the snacks away, literally threw them in the dumpster instead of offering them to the guests. Finally got out of the park only to sit in my car, in my parking space, for over 30 minutes because their staff is to incompetent to manage traffic flow to get people out of the park in an efficient manner. Food was your standard park food, nothing to write home about, but it provided sustenance. I could have let a lot of things slide, but the parking lot incompetence is just too much!! read more

Great Rollercoaster and other thrill rides. Horrible food vendors. Sodas are $5 for regular and $6 for large, or $20 for unlimited for the day. But $17.99 for a single slice of pepperoni pizza is just insulting. Lucky they allow you to run to your car and re-enter and therefore you can bring a sandwich in a cooler (for lunch/dinner). Or hit 7-eleven on the way in like I did. The coasters are world class. I recommend the following rides: Scream, wonder woman, Superman, Batman, Joker, Gully Washer, Iron Rattler, Road Runner Express, Dr Diabolical, Poltergeist, and Chupacabra. I had no wait over 10 minutes for any ride all day on the Monday of Fourth Of July week with the exception of Gully Washer which was about 40 minute wait and worth it to get soaked on a really hot day!! Most of the rides I just walked right on up to the ride and jumped on. Also I don't understand...why does EVERY ride have cubby holes to leave your cup/bag while on the ride, except for Gully Washer where your stuff will get all wet? Thank God I had ziplock bags for my stuff that couldn't get water on it. BTW....Negative points for not making it clear that it costs an extra $10 to go to the water park if you got a day pass. Like you're not already spending enough money...sheesh. The kids running the rides are mostly very enthusiast and a great face for the company. The girl at the gate of Scream was really excited to explain the technology behind the 250 ft drop ride since she was an engineering student. As a kid I visited the Valencia, CA six flags pretty consistently! My family and I loved going. Since moving to SATX I had not visited fiesta six flags until this past weekend. My family recently moved here and they already had passes so we went for the day. This six flags is very different in the best way possible. It's so beautifully designed and it was pretty empty for being a holiday (4th of July) weekend. We also did go later in the day to avoid the mid day heat wave. Overall, we had the best time ever. Very organized theme park from the parking to the inside rides and lines. We went on a lot of rides and enjoyed the most amazing fireworks show in the evening! Highly recommend getting the pass to maximize your time and enjoy the whole park each visit! The pass is definitely a great value and you get additional discounts inside the park. read more

I love me some high thrill roller coasters! In the northwest part of San Antonio near La Cantera where I10 meets Loop 1604 lies the closest Six Flags theme park (with roller coasters) to Houston since Astroworld closed decades ago. I've been to this particular Six Flags location over 25 times over my lifetime, and it has a great mix of rides for everyone. In my opinion, there are better Six Flags theme parks like Six Flags over Texas in Arlington and Six Flags Great America in Chicago, but this one in San Antonio is pretty good. It comes with several high thrill ride options like Iron Rattler (my favorite), Superman Krypton Coaster, and Wonder Woman. It also has lots of tamer rides for all ages. The food options are also pretty good, especially Johnny Rockets (those burgers and fries are amazing). As for crowds, it's hit or miss. Just know that on weekends around Halloween, Fright Night gets pretty packed. Same for Christmas at the Park. I once waited in line for over 2 hours to ride Iron Rattler. Less busy times like early May before the real summer kicks off, wait times are all less than 30 minutes even for the popular rides. There is also a water park directly connected inside the park so that's super convenient. In Dallas the water park is completely separate. As for pricing it's gone up over the years (even parking is $40 now whereas it was $20 not too long ago), but compared to the high end theme parks like Disney and Universal, Six Flags is very affordable. Six Flags Over Texas is easily one of the more visually unique parks in the chain . The setting really stands out - it's built against a quarry wall, which gives it a cool backdrop you don't see at most theme parks. I also loved the consistent Hispanic/fiesta-style theming throughout the park. It adds a fun, vibrant energy that makes the whole place feel lively and different. Getting into the park was surprisingly smooth and fast, which is always a great way to start the day. Once inside, the atmosphere is super energetic with lots going on, but be ready for crowds - especially on busy days. A couple things to plan for: parking is pretty expensive ($39 for general and $55 for premier), so keep that in mind when budgeting your trip. Also, the Texas heat is no joke, so definitely come prepared with water, sunscreen, and maybe a game plan to stay cool. Overall, it's a fun, high-energy park with a unique look and vibe. I don't know why the low ratings. The membership to get in free here (and the water park here) any day the parks are open is only $8 a month. $8 a month! Maybe it's just me, a single mom of 3 who just moved here from California, but that is a darn good price! Not to mention- my little family of 4 gets into a whole bunch of other parks for free too- including Schlitterbahn! Yes, Texas gets HOT, but there are plenty of places to sit inside with some ac. There are two things I would do to improve the park- better food for the meal plan and more shaded areas outside. But still...$8 a month means I'm giving this park a 5. This was my third time visiting Six Flags for their Halloween fest over the past couple of years, and like always, they did NOT disappoint! The event starts around dusk, and as soon as the sun goes down, you've got creepy characters wandering around trying to scare you. The decorations were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect for spooky season. All the rides were fun--except Batman. I will never ride that one again! It feels like pure whiplash the whole time. It just tosses you around, and then it takes forever to get off once the ride ends. Definitely not my favorite. My favorite ride is the very first one on the left when you walk into the park. I don't know the name, but it's super fast and SO much fun. We grabbed food while we were there and got burgers, and they were surprisingly delicious. I also had an ice-cold beer, which hit the spot. We did all the haunted houses too. They were all great, but my absolute favorite was The Conjuring--they nailed the theme and did an amazing job. Honestly, every haunted house was worth going through, and the lines weren't even that long. Overall, another awesome Halloween trip to Six Flags. I'll definitely be back next year. read more

Decided on a gold membership to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Added a dining pass and a drink pass ( every 15 mins) totally worth it.The pass includes lunch and dinner (4 hours apart) A parking and access to Hurricane harbor. There are some other cool perks I won't get into. Fiesta Texas is a family favorite. If you have a day pass or it's bring a friend free they will not have access to hurricane harbor, so that's one thing to note. Lots of cool new attractions. The six flags map app isn't so user friendly I must admit. I don't think it's updated in real time. Today some attractions were closed or delayed. That was a bummer. But there was a lot to explore. We caught a Selena tribute show. Super cute. Entertainers were very talented. The thrills are definitely on point! The meter on the app seems to be pretty accurate. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Restrooms are conveniently all around the property and so refreshing in most of them. Amusement park is very clean. Lots of food options and the menu has indicators on what menu items are included on your pass. Haven't had a chance to explore water park thoroughly but will review that next visit. read more

I enjoyed this six flags park! The iron rattler and cliffhanger were the most thrilling! The park is not to big not to small! They have a variety of food options! There is a gaming cafe inside the park which is a cool bonus for kiddos to game while parents cool off at a low price of $10 an hour! We bought several season passes for Six Flags Fiesta Texas last year for the family Yesterday during Fright Fest it was EXTREMELY crowded First we were going to go to the haunted houses but were told that with the Gold pass it is 50$ to go Per person that would have been 250$ there was nothing to indicate that the haunted houses were EXTRA as it says "Fright Fest included" sneaky there Second My son in law put HIS son on his shoulders and a Security Guard told him to take him down there are no signs etc saying a child cannot be there There was no safer place for the child as he is small and getting trampled by others The second he took him down someone tripped over the child The Security Guard was combative towards my son in law WHILE OTHERS HAD THEIR CHILD ON THEIR SHOULDERS passing by and we pointed this out She said "I don't care about them" We WERE actually using THIS TO METER weather or not to renew our passes but as of now there are several other venues to choose from and we have not had this problem before We will NOT be going to or renewing our family's passes and will not be attending Fiesta Texas in the near future The sad part is that the child in question actually wanted a birthday party there in 3 weeks but now we will go to Sea World or the Zoo or even Kalahari isn't much further down the road Six Flags please let your security guard know that she has not only now been perceived as racially insensitive but also as a bully who cost you business (on average we have spent 100-150$ a time on food drinks etc - just today 100$) It is sad that this happened and we have been so happy before with our experiences but one bad apple has spoiled the whole situation and put a REALLY bad taste in our mouths so much so we do NOT want to return Thank you and Goodbye We will spread the word about this event as others prepare to go read more

I try to do an update for every year we go and visit as each experience can be different. This year we decided not to renew our SeaWorld passes due to us trying to go to Orlando this year, but unfortunately things happened. We decided to head to San Antonio this year as the weather is right for us to go and it will not be busy. We ended up going all three days during the MLK weekend and the lines were not busy. The longest we had to wait was 30 minutes. If not a busy weekend, they will tend to run less trains like on Sunday and Monday, they only ran 1 train on Iron Rattler, 2 trains on Wonder Woman, 1 train on Superman and 2 trains on Dr. Diabolical. I was surprised that most of the rides were open as that is what contributed to the shorter lines which I did not mind. Most of the food places were opened as well. This park does have a lot of hamburger places like Johnny Rocket's, Fat Burger, the 50's cafe, I forgot the name and the one near Gully washer, oh yes the one near the water park. We ended up eating at the German Plaza and they have new food in there which is neat and the BBQ place. They have all of the updated systems to where you can use the app now to use your 1 fast lane if you are prestige. We did not have any app issues. Also, all of the Looney Tunes characters showed up and we took many pictures of them. The staff were really friendly and had no issues with them. If there was an issue, it was some of the dining areas were dirty and not taken care of. The bathrooms need to be updated as it does look old for most of them and outdated. I know Six Flags over Texas has taken care of most of them. The VIP lounge you get a free snack and all you can drink soda which is nice did not know this until the last day. You can use your snack as a meal which is nice too. Overall, I had a great experience on those three days. I can tell this is one of the parks where they really take care of it and I was not having a Six Flags day here. You can see the improvements taking shape here. read more

Unfortunately this was just not a good experience. Paying $40 to Park uncovered somewhere you are going to go in and spend loads of money is insulting, and an absolutely bizarre price to charge your customers. We are here for my son's birthday, mid June, so you would think everything would be on point! We got here and noticed immediately that the Batman was down. The boys opted for wonder woman, waited in line for about 30 minutes before the ride broke down and they did not get a chance to ride. This repeated itself multiple times throughout our visit: we would wait in line, in the heat for an unfathomable amount of time, just to be told the ride was no longer working and to go find something else. A water tube ride, the Pandemonium, and another that I didn't catch the name of. It also seems that there are multiple attractions that are simply not open, and like I said, we are here in June, not the off-season. Another thing to note is that there is absolutely no shade in the water anywhere you can swim. A woman in the wave pool was trying to protect herself from the summer sun with an umbrella, and was told she could not have her umbrella. As someone in Texas who has already had skin cancer myself, this is really not acceptable. We got the boys baskets of french fries, as the only other option at the food place we went in the waterpark was $20 chicken strips (they were out of $20 hamburgers) and the servings were so sad. There was clearly a deceased animal somewhere by the walkway at the waterpark we could smell every time we passed by. And as soon as it hit 5 o'clock, the GNATS!! oh my God, they were just everywhere. We came prepared to spend money today, with 5 of us; I'm not trying to be cheap. But for the amount of money everything costs, the experience just does not match up. If we wanted the main experience to be a wave pool, we could have done that much cheaper elsewhere. This was my son's birthday and I wanted so badly for everyone to have a great time, but this fell so short. read more

We went to Six Flags for 8 hours on an orchestra trip, and the only rides I rode was the Looney Tunes water ride and the Roadrunner. The prices were hella expensive on merchandise. One of my friends got a medium sized shirt for over $50. The service was alright. I made friends with one guy after a ride, he was chill. I see why your company is failing. * Next day update- Ok, I'll upgrade this to 3 stars because the Xmas lights were so pretty at night, they had lots of cute sitting photo opportunities, and the Christmas Looney Tunes performance was really good. But you guys really need more people working the customer service rooms, I shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes in a short line for my problem to NOT be solved. And for the race car ride that costs extra- you NEED to include on the color coded height chart that when you're tall enough to be the driver with a passenger that you also have to be 18+ years old!!! Myself and the woman/family in front of us wanted our kids who were tall enough to drive us, bought tickets accordingly, only to be told by the attendants that they couldn't! The other family went and waited forever for a manager to change their tickets, and I just didn't ride and lost the $4. That's ridiculous that you don't have signage ANYWHERE about that. read more

Ok, I'm older and should say that this was in mid May when schools had their spring trip here but waiting hours in line for EVERYTHING is ridiculous. $15 for a glass of beer...come on! Meals are expensive, $20 minimum each. We purchased the $45 dine all day package for one person to share but the lines were long and very slow, so a 45 minutes to an hour wait to get anything is normal. Even for just a drink. Weekends are way too crowded. There were rows and rows of buses from schools from all over the state. My son was there with his school band. Spring break, arrived 10min prior to the park opening, took 15 min to get into the parking area (traffic lighs in that area is very congested), long lines during the day(2hrs) when the park first opened and close to closing the wait times are closer to 45min. Getting into the park was quick and not much of a bag security check. Food lines are long as usual (45min for $20 cheese burger and fries). Being from Florida, the theme parks I'm used to are either Disney or Universal. So I was very impressed with Six Flags! Most of the lines passed very quickly, and I can appreciate that almost all of them are under shade too. The park wasn't that crowded. And I love that lockers and cubbies for your belongings are included in every ride. Makes it so much easier to just get in line, and put your stuff down, even if you're riding alone. Also really like that the bathrooms are blasting A/C so you can actually cool down if it gets too hot. But not the biggest fan of not being able to bring any food into the park. read more

Pandemonium in particular is the one my kids can actually ride and it's like they can't figure this ride out... has a sign that says it opens at 1pm, then you go there and it's closed and it's just annoying because it's the only coaster all 3 of my boys can ride together and it's always the same story every single time. Horrible experience at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on the Wonder Woman ride. A girl named Vanessa ruined the whole thing. She scanned my lightning lane pass and then immediately claimed it had already been used. Well, of course it showed used -- because she had just scanned it herself! Because of that mistake, I had to waste another flash pass just to get on the ride. On top of that, they had a bin for belongings, but I was rushed onto the ride so fast that I couldn't even put my stuff in it. I ended up having to take everything with me, which meant the entire ride I was stressing about my things instead of actually enjoying it. Between the carelessness with the lightning lane and the lack of organization with the bins, this was a complete letdown. I paid extra for convenience and fun, and instead got a frustrating, stressful mess. Six Flags needs to do way better. read more

If you're a daredevil this is the place for you . The roller coasters here will make your feet sweat and once your on one you have signed up for quite the experience. Some rides may look dangerous and definitely can be . The DC area though is small but really neat . The staff here it's eh ok enough. Second visit for me. We had the annual pass this year and live outside of the area so visits are very few and far between. (Live halfway between this park and the one in Arlington). It was hit or miss on the rides. We got to ride a few favorites from last time as well as a few that were closed for maintenance last time. But also, two I was most excited to ride were closed most of the time we were there (and would open briefly, we'd rush over and then they'd close again.) Specifically poltergeist and pandemonium. Wonder Woman was great! First time riding that one! Superman is super tall and super long. Worth the line! The rattler left bruises on my legs, so that'll be a one and done for me. read more

Shocked at the low rating of Six Flags Fiesta Texas... we had a great time here! Despite living in Houston, TX, we decided to get season passes at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. (Snagged them for a great deal for a Memorial Day sale). We have to say, we are looking forward to what this place is going to be. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty fantastic now BUT they are adding some new rides and it'll be that much better. My husband especially loved the coaster lineup. The Iron Rattler was our favorite. The weird part was that there are rides for little kid, then there are the big adult rides but for our kids kind of in between kids and adults... there wasn't a ton of options. Hurricane Harbor was refreshing and quite large. Again, looking forward to the new kid's area they're working on. The water coaster was interesting. Wasn't a huge fan of it but the kids loved it. (Note: your weight has to add up between 300lbs and 500lbs. We needed another rider to join us because we didn't weigh enough... guess that is a compliment.) Main negatives: many rides were down during the week. Luckily, when we went on Friday, 2 of the ones we wanted to go on, we're up and running. The boardwalk wasn't open until 2pm. I crisscrossed the park so much trying to get to rides that just reopened only to have them close again when we got there. Also - A lot of the people we asked questions of had zero idea what the actual answer was. Just a lot of: "I think," or "maybe," or just "I don't know." Final note - Having to get wait times through a separate website is pretty unnecessary, but even then they weren't accurate. The Wonder Woman ride said 10 minutes but it was 40.
