    Right side of chimney.

We used Tomberlin Painting in Sept. 2020. The initial job looked great, but only three years later we have damage to the siding around our chimney as well as caulk that doesn't even seem to exist. The seams in the siding have gaps and appears that that caulk has either shrunk or completely dried. When the initial job was being done, my husband noticed that they didn't caulk around the chimney and called Chad to have the guy who does the caulking come back. Now there's water damage and we wonder if they ever really did it or if the caulk used on the entire house was bad. My husband noticed the siding after cleaning out our gutters. He's called Chad twice. The first time, Chad said he was on his family vacation and he'd get back with my husband as soon as he got home. After waiting a bit, my husband contacted him again and then got a response that he was in the middle of a large job and to hold tight and he'll definitely follow-up. Well, here we are a couple of months later and nothing. I read another reviewer (Brittney C.) saying she got ghosted and that's exactly how we feel.

Chad helped us begin phase 1 of our kitchen remodel (new backsplash, islandreconstruction, countertops). From the very first consultation we knew we were in great hands! Chad and his partners were knowledgeable and professional. Chad's communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Even though he had other jobs going on, we always felt like a priority. If you are thinking about any painting, remodeling or other work, do yourself a favor and call Chad. You won't be disappointed!

When you are doing a major remodel, there is really only one question that needs to be answered. Did I pick the right contractor? When it comes right down to it, that determines how the job goes. How issues will be responded to. The quality of work that will be done. Happily we can answer that question, yes! We knew immediately after meeting with Chad, we were going to go with him. Chad Tomberlin is the reason that our bathroom remodel went as well as it did. He was very communicative and responsive. He was always there to answer any questions and address any concerns. Chad is very thoughtful about his work. He jumped on any issues that came up dealt with them professionally and gracefully. He is very easy to work with. His sub-contractors are also high quality and do great work. He was always willing to offer advice or direction on any and all decisions that needed to be made as far as design. We had a difficult bathroom space to work with and Chad was very instrumental on making it all work. We love our new bathroom and are completely and thoroughly thrilled with the results! We are truly thankful for the excellent job that he did and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to do a remodel.

Chad and all of his many workers who were in and out of our house during our project were very professional. The work was completed within the estimated time frame and if any concerns arose during the project, Chad was very responsive and helpful! I very highly recommend and could not think of a single negative. Thank you, Chad and team!

I recently had 21st Century repaint the exterior of my house. You can find that review here as…read morewell. I'm writing a new one because this is a different project. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

Along the way, we also discovered that we needed to have the roof replaced, and so put that in the mix for a bid as well. We contacted six different companies, each of which brought a particular set of strengths and challenges. We chose Austin Pro based on a combination of factors: personalized attention to our project, comprehensive estimate and explanation of each line item, and ability to get the project done on a timeline that worked for us. We chose to have the house re-sided with Hardie Plank, painted with Sherwin-Williams paint, and re-shingled the roof with GAF shingles. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the process of basically re-doing the entire house, especially when insurance companies come into play. To that end, everyone at Austin Pro was first rate. Before we even settled on a contractor, Paul, our project manager, walked me through the intricacies of the process, and spent probably more time than he wanted explaining how things would go, and what options we had. The bid was competitive, and the line-by-line items on the original bid made it easy to see what was going to be done, and what materials were going to be used. He was patient and courteous and flexible, and was also able to speak to us in a way that didn't make things even more confusing. Kevin was the siding project lead, and though we never met in person, I felt comfortable that he had our best interests at heart as he got the crew on site, working fast and efficiently to remove and replace the siding. He even called in the middle of the siding job to tell us that we didn't need something we thought we would, saving us money that we could then use for add-ons we didn't originally budget for. The siding install and siding paint was done beyond our initial expectations, with nice touches like window framing and utility box framing that I didn't even know we needed but now look perfect. We had the back door repainted as well as our front balcony and pillars, and the end result is fantastic. It really was done to the point where it looks like a brand new house, and not one built in the early 1990s. Paul was back on site for the roofing job, and the roofers did a great job removing and replacing the shingles and skylight with new materials, on a roof that is exceptionally steep and challenging. They had the entire project done in only two days, and it looks fantastic. Finally, Garrett came by to do the final walk-through and punch list check-off, and was a real pleasure to interact with. He fulfilled all the items on the list, at least the ones he could do on his own, and did so in a friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient manner. All in all, Austin Pro lived up to their name and to their reputation. It is possible to find a company that can do your big jobs for less, but I am not sure you could find one that could do it better. They stand by their work with a quality assurance guarantee, and while I don't intend to need it, it's great that it's there.
